NASA Internships About the program…

• The NASA Internship program offers opportunities to strengthen the retention of students in STEM fields.

• High school, undergraduate, and graduate students are paired with a seasoned scientist in their discipline for an immersive research experience.

• Non-STEM students can also submit applications.

• In 2018, participation increased to 1,685 students interning agency-wide.

• Since its inception in April 2013, 6,042 interns have participated in the NASA Internship program.

NASA Internships Eligibility Requirements • U.S. citizenship• GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale• High school students

At least 16 years of age and a current sophomore, junior or senior

• Undergraduate or graduate students At the time the opportunity begins, must be

accepted/enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. college or university

How do I apply?• www//intern.nasa.gov• Applications for spring 2019 are due Nov 5!• Applications for summer 2019 are due Apr 1!

Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars

About the program…

• The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Scholars Program offers stipend-paid summer internship opportunities to high school, undergraduate, and graduate level university students pursuing STEM degrees.

• The selected interns gain valuable hands-on experiences working with full-time AFRL scientists and engineers on cutting-edge research and technology.

• 290 students participated in the AFRL Scholars program during 2018.

How do I apply?• www.afrlscholars.usra.edu• Applications for Kirtland AFB are due January 15, 2019!• Applications for Eglin AFB are due December 10, 2018!

Eligibility Requirements • U.S. citizenship• GPA: 3.0 on a 4.0 scale• High school students

Must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license

• Undergraduate or graduate students Must be enrolled or accepted at an

educational institution taking at least half-time academic course load leading to a degree or certificate for semester immediately preceding internship session.
