SATYAMEV JAYTEMy dear Brothers & Sisters,

The truth always prevails. As you arealready aware that two members of ourCommunity Shri Sanjeev Rai Vaid of Ludhianaand Shri Rakesh Vaid of Ghaziabad have fileda suit against GMS and its 40 electedmembers of the Managing Committee withprayers to the Hon’ble Court to annul the recentelections and appoint a Commissioner tosupervise the affairs of GMS till next elections. Ironically both thesemembers did not stand for elections and are obviously a proxy for thedefeated candidates.

It is a matter of satisfaction that during the hearing on 29 March2016, the Hon’ble Court declined their petition and passed the interimorder concluding as under:-

“Main allegation of the plaintiffs are that in the election processsecrecy of voting was not maintained, so election of the GMS is bad.On the other hand, contention of the defendants are that as perconsitution of GMS it was not necessary that election should be byway of secret voting and it could have been by show of hands and theelection was conducted as per the constitution of GMS. As I havealready observed, the proceedings pertaining to grant of temporaryinjunction are supplementary proceedings and at that stage the Courtshould refrain from giving a finding on the merits of the case. Unlessthe election is set aside, the elected representative of GMS cannotbe restrained from taking action and decision. In the constitution ofGMS, it is provided that the aims and objects of the GMS shall be topromote welfare, progress and prosperity of the general public andto provide aid, relief to needy and deserving persons, to establish, maintain and run educational and other institutes and other socialcauses of Mohyal community etc. It is well settled law that the Courtwould not pass injunction restraining the elected members from takingany action and decision in pursuance to their appointment as themembers of the management committee of GMS, in the interest ofthe majority of the members of GMS, when those members are notbefore the court”.

The next date for hearing is fixed for 20 May 2016 and though wefeel unhappy and sad on the development, we are very confident andfully geared up to meet any eventuality. Despite these “speedbreakers”, we wish to assure you that we are conserving all ourresources and energies for development and welfare of theCommunity–towards which we know, we always had your fullestsupport & co-operation.

We have called for a meeting of Presidents & Secretaries of allaffiliated sabhas on 14 & 15 May 2016 to discuss the various plans &programmes for the welfare of our fraternity and involve them in allground level activities and feel sure of very positive & productiveresults.

With kind regards.Jai Mohyal

HOW GITA WORKS AT WORKPLACEAll that Krishna says to Arjuna is – Be efficient at work. How tobe efficient at work is what the Gita is all about, for it is thescience of action. So the workplace is where it is most relevant.

You have many roles in life, andone of them is as worker. Do notgo at two or more roles at atime. That way you givemaximum justice to the role youact at the t ime. That isvyavasaya buddhi, which isGita’s term for dedication. When you act one role, whatever role, bring yourvyavasaya buddhi to Samadhi, concentration, and that isefficiency. The role of Arjuna inthe war field is just to fight. When he acts the role of thefighter he should not share the

concerns of his other roles —father, brother, son, son-in-law,nephew or any other. If he does, it is like splitting himself intomany roles at a time and thus diluting his vyavsaya buddhi.Diluted dedication is inefficiency.Unconcern for the fruits of action is not an unearthly ideal; it isjust part of efficiency at work. When the fruits of action weighheavy upon you, you are distracted and your dedication isunsteady. You do not do justice to your role. A mother who doubtsthat her children, when grown up, might not reciprocate herlove and care cannot love and care them with motherlyvyavasaya buddhi. A farmer who doubts that he might not reapprofit from his crops cannot farm with complete dedication anddo justice to role. An employee who bellyaches over his paycannot give his full to his work and do justice to his role. Onlythose who work unconcerned with fruits can work with completededication and do justice to their roles. So cultivate this attitude.Do not look at the returns.Just love your work and do it lovingly.Think plenty before plunging. Once plunged, swim and comeout what may. Let not the thought of gain or loss or success orfailure distract you. Give no care to win or defeat. Keep yourspirits high. Krishna says, act always with me in mind. And whenyou act with Him in mind, He will take care of the fruits-Yogakshemam Vahamyaham.

warmth of his presence in ourhearts.Recently, a non-Mohyal familystaying at the Mohyal Ashram inHaridwar happened to enter thelibrary set up in his memory. Theycame back to us with so muchrespect, joy and admiration forwhat our community has set upand special regards for theknowledge sanctum in his name.So many times we take forgranted what it means to be aMohyal–it is moments like thisthat make you realize the valueof what our community eldersand stalwarts have put in place. While he was alive, Bk. RajinderKumar Dutta, or Gullu as he wasfondly known, was a devotedMohyal. At a very young age, hehad witnessed turmoil in the formof partition and like manyMohyals, he became a refugeein his own country. But, healways stressed on the role ofcommunity and how ‘stickingtogether’ as a community was apillar of strength. When he moved to the UK,where he stayed for 22 years, again he found solace in hiscommunity and was one of thefounding members of the MohyalSabha there. In fact, the firstMohyal meeting in the UK washeld at his house. A Mohyalsurname was always a trigger forhis love and attention. He wouldopen his heart and home for aMohyal in need.Likewise, when he moved backhome to India, post-retirement,he found joy in communityservice whether it be in the localGurgaon Mohyal Sabha, theMohyal Education Society andthe General Mohyal Sabha. TheMohyal Ashram in Haridwar wasone of the last projects heparticipated in and was soexcited about i t before hispassing away.It is in his memory, and as perwhat we are one hundred percent certain we know would behis wishes, that our mother SmtSurinder Dutta, 843 Sector 14,Gurgaon, 9810057815 ,isdonating Rs 51,000/- on his 80th
