ABOUT US: The School Education Department is the largest department consisting of Primary and Secondary stages, assumes greater significance and aims at imparting minimum and essential general education to all the children in the age group of 6-15 years and to equip them with necessary competencies to shape them as useful and productive citizens. Andhra Pradesh has adopted the national pattern of education i.e. 10+2+3. Out of 10 years of schooling, the first 5 years i.e. Classes I to V constitute the Primary stage, the next two years i.e., Class VI & VII the Upper Primary stage and the remaining 3 years i.e., Classes VIII to X, the Secondary stage. Concerted efforts are made in all the schools in the State with a well-knitted field functionaries monitoring system to take the Education to the nearest place of residence of the school going aged children, even in remote, tribal and hillock areas. Andhra Pradesh has attained 100% access by providing at-least One Primary School with in the reach of one kilo meter. Today any child in any part of Andhra Pradesh can access a school with in one kilometer radius. The Government of Andhra Pradesh in the School Education Department is committed to providing quality education from Class I to X for all the school going age children in the State, including general and linguistic minorities, and other disadvantaged-groups. To meet the above objectives the department has taken up the following activities:

• To enroll all the children in the age group of 6-15 years

• To provide early childhood education to the children in the age group of 3-

6 years

• To provide quality education up to class X

• To develop literary and numeric skills and social awareness in students

• To create scientific attitudes

• To promote cooperation, tolerance and self-control

• To promote vocational efficiency and productivity

• To develop among children the qualities of Social, industrial and cultural

leadership.

• To prepare the children for higher education and to provide teacher

education at Elementary and Secondary levels.

Administrative Setup:-

District Level:-

• At district level, the District Educational Officer (DEO) is the Head of the District

Educational Administration. The DEO is an Administrator, Inspecting Officer and

an Academician.

• He is assisted by an Assistant Director in the Educational Administration of the

District. Another Assistant Director to look after Legal & MDM issues.

• He is also assisted by one Assistant Commissioner for Government

Examinations in the work relating to Public Examinations of VII and X Classes.

Mandal Level:-

• At Mandal Level, Mandal Educational Officers (MEOs) are the field functionaries.

• They are the Inspecting Officers for Primary and Upper Primary Schools in their

Mandals.

• In order to strengthen the Mandal Level Education System, the posts of Mandal

Educational Officers and Deputy Inspectors of Schools are upgraded to Gezetted

cadre in 1998.

II. Geographical Location and Topography

Nizamabad District is bounded in the North by Nirmal district and in the

East by Jagityal and Sircilla Rajanna districts, West & South by Kamareddy district. The

geographical area of the District is 4288 Sq Kms. Total Forest area is 19.90 % of the

geographical area (853.21 sq kms). The temperature fluctuations are high in the

district. The minimum temperature 13.70c and mean maximum is 39. 90C. At times the

temperature goes as low as 50 c during winter and rises as high as 470 during peak

summer.

II. SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (SSA)

UNIFORMS

• 2 Pairs of Uniforms were distributed for the academic year 2017-18.

• Uniforms cloths were distributed from Mandal points to schools through

SMCs. Two pairs of uniforms are being stitched to (93360) children.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

• Conducting 4 Physiotherapy Camps in every Mandal in month.

• Divisional level camps are conducted with the help of ALIMCO students and

proposals are prepared to supply helping appliances to the needy students.

• 218 children provided with Escort allowance Rs.250/- per month for

10months

• 255 children provided with transport allowance Rs.250/- per month for 10

months

• 147 CwSN are benefitted through Home Based Education.

• 37 IERP’s are engaged to provide Inclusive Education.

• 360 Children are enrolled in Bhavitha centers to provide School Readiness

Programme.

• Out of (19) Bhavitha Centers (07) Bhavitha Centers have their own buildings

in Armoor, Nandipet, Nizamabad, Morthad, Bodhan, Sirikonda and

Yedapally.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas

Introduction:-

What is KGBV :

Government of India have taken the initiation of “Kasturba Gandhi

Balika Vidyalaya” for setting up of 36 Residential schools in the Nizamabad with

boarding facilities at elementary level for girls belonging predominantly to SC, ST

OBC and Minorities in difficult areas. The scheme will be coordinated with the

existing schemes of Department of Elementary Education and Literacy namely

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Programme for Education of Girls at

Elementary Level (NPEGEL) and Mahila Samakya (MS).

Objectives :

• To ensure access and quality education to the girls of disadvantaged groups

of society by setting up Residential schools with boarding facilities at

elementary level.

Scope and coverage of the scheme :

• The norms for the programme is to identify educationally backward blocks

as per census data of 2011 i.e., less than 46.58% Female Literacy Rate and

Gender gap more than 21.7%

• Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned 36 KGBV Residential

Schools in Nizamabad District.

State Initiatives :

• Construction of buildings

• Sensitization and training for teachers and staff

• Community awareness programmes to motivate and prepare the girls and

their families to send them to

Residential Schools.

• (3861) students are studying in (25) KGBVs.

• In the district, In the academic year of 2017-18 (06) New KGBVs (E/M) have

been started in Mupkal, Mugpal, Yergatla, Indalwai, Rudrur and Mendora

and (425) students have been admitted.

MAINSTREAMING OF OUT OF SCHOOL CHILDREN (OSC)

• URBAN RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL (URS): An Urban Residential School, Quilla

with the capacity of 100 (street/deprived) male children was started at the

premises of Govt. High School Quilla, Nizamabad in the academic year

2017-18. This year (53) children took shelter.

• MANAVATHA SADHAN (URDCH): Manavatha Sadan Rural Deprived

Children Hostel with capacity of 62 (Boys / Girls) children was started at the

premises Tahasil Office Dichpally in the Academic year 2015-16 and it is

running successfully.

• NRSTC & Work Site Schools : For immigrant parents children Non

Residential Special Training Centers (NRSTC) and Work Site Schools

(Seasonal Hostels Non Residential) (11) centers for (266) boys and girls are

opened in the district.

GRANTS

Teacher Grant:- An amount of Rs 21,60,000/- (Twenty One lakh and Sixty

thousand only) to all 4320 Govt Teachers. This amount was released by State

Office.

School Maintenance Grant:- an amount of Rs 9,53,000/- (Rupees Nine lakhs Fifty

three thousand only) released to for conduct of school maintenance grant.

School Grant:- an amount of Rs 71,32,000/- (Rupees Seventy One lakhs and

Thirty Two thousand only) released to 1199 Govt Schools towards releasing of

School grant for conduct of school activities (repairs, consumable articles,

computer stationary, purchase of books, drinking & electricity charges etc)

Watch & ward personnel honorarium for maintenance of toilets and greenery :-

an amount of Rs 1,11,54,000/- (Rupees One Crore Eleven lakhs and Fifty Four

thousand only) released to SMC for watch & ward personnel (1196 persons

engaged in 1105 schools) honorarium.

III. RASHTRIYA MADHYAMIK SHIKSHA ABHIYAN (RMSA) &

MODEL SCHOOLS • The Government of India has introducted “Rashtriya Madyamika Shiksha

Abhiyan Scheme” from 2009-2010 in all High Schools in the State to

improve the quality in Education.

• In Nizamabad District the scheme has been implemented in 290 High

Schools in Management such as Government / Zilla Parishad / Model

Schools / KGBVs/Residential Schools/Ashram Patashala

SCHOOL ANNUAL GRANTS :-

• During the year 2017-2018 the Commissioner & Director of School

Education & Ex-Officio, Project Director RMSA, TS, Hyderabad had directly

released the school annual grant to all the High Schools in the District @

Rs.50,000=00 per school.

MODEL SCHOOLS:

• The Government has decided to establish a Model School @ One per EBB

Mandal on par with the facilities provided at Jawahar Navidaya Vidyalayas

and Kendriya Vidyalayas.

• The following 10 Model Schools are functioning in the District during the

academic Year – 2017-2018 from 6th

class to 10th

class with 100 seats each

class and Intermediate offering Bi.P.C. ,M.P.C., M.E.C. and C.E.C. courses

with 40 seats each.

Girls Hostels in Model Schools:

• The Government has decided to establish a Girls Hostel attaching to each

Model School in the district.

• The following (06) Girls Hostels are functioning during the academic Year –

2017-2018 with 100 Girls students in each hostel.

� and the remaining Hostel buildings were under construction

• Midday Meals Scheme Implemented in all model schools utensils has been

purchased in all Model schools.

• Required Furniture has been purchased for students and staff members of

Modal schools.

• Available of NT Books has been supplied to the Model Schools from the

District Test Book Depot.

• RMSA conduct various training programs to Head Masters, Teachers on

subject & trainings to PETs/PDs on Martial Arts & Yoga.

• RMSA grants releases to the CWSN children who were studying 9th

& 10th

class with disability in Government / Zilla Parishad /KGBVs/Residential

Schools/Ashram Patashala/ Model Schools

• NSIGSE scholarship to Girls students studying IX class in Government / Zilla

Parishad /KGBVs/Residential Schools/Ashram Patashala/ Model Schools.
