INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Technology comes from the Greek “technologia” which
“techno” means an art, skill or craft and “logia” for the
study of something or a branch of knowledge of a discipline.
It is a making, modification, usage, and method of
organization, in order to solve problem, improve a
preexisting solution to a problem, achieve a goal, handle an
applied input/output relationship or perform a specific
function.
Many people respect and admire technology because it is
there to benefit them. Without the technology we have over
the years, the world would not be what it is today. With
technology, the lives of Don Carlos, Bukidnon especially
teachers is more comfortable like never before. There is
almost no place that you can go where technology hasn’t been
used today. As we create more time, we invent more stuff to
fill it up. Technology has become part of many people’s
life. We almost used technology everywhere. It helps us
daily, by providing us with information, or even fun that we
wouldn’t necessarily get out of a book as quickly as we type
it into Google. The internet is fast and tons of pages on
every topic. Like for example, in using internet and other
high tech gadgets. Just a click away then everybody can get
whatever they want in searching. In teaching or other school
presentations, PowerPoint’s, tutorials and other video clips
for learning’s are easy to find and easy to access in
studying at home through the internet. In teaching, it
provides feedback and opportunities to enhance student self-
assessment, reflection, and improvement in their own
learning process. Technologies may be a tool which is
capable of increasing student motivation for being more
receptive, more engaged, and more likely to learn. It
promotes cooperation and collaboration among pupils and
trained teachers who can capitalize on individual talents.
It has deeper, richer, and more probing communication
between teacher and pupils, and among pupils themselves. We
cannot escape from the absolute used of technology here in
Don Carlos, Bukidnon especially in Don Carlos Central
Elementary School teacher. No longer do grade one teachers
use the pen and paper to complete their works. Even class
records made them easy using excel. They don’t need to
consume time in scanning their notes to find grades; all
they need to do is just by input the name of pupils and just
a click then they will find it.
Teachers used technology to provide opportunities that
involve technology knowledge and skills and a variety of
learning activities that address diverse learning styles and
modalities. Thus, making the process of teaching is easier
and more effective. It boosts student motivation by
providing feedback and opportunities to enhance student
self-assessment, reflection, and improvement in their own
learning process and flexibility for more choices in
activities. It enhances the materials in teaching. Instead
of visual aids for discussion and story books for
storytelling, it can now use PowerPoint’s and tutorials to
discuss a subject. For the other hand Educational CD tapes
and television. Because the more they’ve seen the more they
understand their lessons and it provides a better ways of
knowledge sharing.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
The Greek term “technologia” and split scientific
knowledge into three points: Theoretical science, Practical
science, and Productive science. (Aristotle 330 BC).
In ancient times, technology was defined by homer and
spoken word of manual craft of cunning skill. The earliest
use of the word technology in the United States was found on
a Harvard University course on the “Application of the
science to the useful arts” in 1861. The 1832 encyclopedia,
American defined technology as principles, process, and
nomenclatures. Ever since the time, there has been debate as
to the definition and identity of technology. The history is
long and complex. In fact, as discussed there is a
fundamental disagreement about what is technology. THE
NATURE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, modern science developed
almost solely out of Western Europe. (Luna 1994).
Technology, however, has a more electric past. It is
the electric past that we will experience in this unit. From
a historical perspective, philosophers of technology agree
that two phases of technology can be seen. The craft phase
and the modern scientized phase. However, to a philosophers
of technology, modern technology, although scientized, is a
structure of thinking, not merely applied science, fully
described by the law of nature. “Modern science was derived
from technology through the wisdom accumulated via the
“technical arts’, and through the invention of a few
critical instruments” in this terms, technology is defined
as practical science - - science as technique. (Lewis
&Gagel, 1992)

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This study utilized the methods for this research in
gathering information and collecting data through conducting
an investigation and interview, which explains the
importance of technology among grade one teachers in Don
Carlos Central Elementary School, Don Carlos, Bukidnon. This
school was chosen due to its accessibility for any
transportation.
LOCALE OF THE STUDY
The study was conducted in Don Carlos Central
Elementary School, Don Carlos, Bukidnon where technology is
implemented. Based on the record there were 83 teachers in
Don Carlos Central Elementary School, Don Carlos, Bukidnon
but 30 teachers were chosen as the respondent of the study.
RESPONDENT OF THE STUDY
The respondent of the study are the teachers of Don
Carlos Central Elementary School who are using technology in
their job. There are prepared questionnaire for this study
to the respondent.
DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUE
The data collected from the grade one teachers who are
currently worked in Don Carlos Central Elementary School,
Don Carlos, Bukidnon, using the structured questionnaire to
supplement the personal interview. The collection of data
was personally handled by the researcher to ensure the
soundness of the integrity of the result.
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTAL
The researchers sent a letter of request to the people
they interview to answer the questionnaire. When it is
approved by the chair, the researcher will personally
distributed the questionnaire to those people they choose to
interview. The result of the interview then were collected,
analyzed and interpreted.

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA
This chapter presents the data analysis and discussion
of results. The respondents of the study are teachers of Don
Carlos Central Elementary School, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
Age Bracket
The age bracket of the respondents teachers of Don
Carlos Central Elementary School is shown in Table
1.Statistical Analysis shows that there are four (4)
respondents in age bracket fifty one (51) to sixty (60)
which soon was the candidates for retirees and nine (9)
respondents in age bracket forty one (41) to fifty (50). By
getting its percentage, the number of respondents which is
nine (9) will be divided by the total of respondents which
is nine (30), and the total of divisor and dividend is
multiplied by one hundred (100). The result will be the
percentage and so on and so forth.
