IAGES , a Family of more than 8000 members has been at the forefront of imparting Knowledge & Skills of Laparoacopic Surgery and GI Endoscopy since almost 3 decades. For the members, IAGES organises various Fellowship Programs in Essential Laparascopic Surgery, GI Endoscopy, Advanced Laparascopic Surgery in UGI, Bariatrics, Colo-Rectal, HPB, Hernias, Onco Surgery, Robotic Surgery and Advanced GI Endoscopy. Last year due to Covid Pandemic, IAGES couldn’t do Onsite Programs and hence many Fellowship Programs were carried out Online. This year we are in the waxing & waning of Covid and hence Programs are happening Online, Onsite and Hybrid. At IAGES, we have been doing plenty of International Webinars in variety of subjects. During the year, IAGES also started academic partnership with ALSGBI - Association of Laparascopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland. Many of You, who have done Fellowships will be awarded the certificates in the Convocation Ceremony at Rajahmundri.

Local legend claims that a sage named Gautama was cursed by Lord Indra, and to rid himself off the curse, the sage placed a ‘Shiva-lingam’ (representation of the Lord Shiva) and prayed to the Lord. He anointed the lingam with waters of 10 million rivers. The same ‘Shiva-lingam’ now rests in the precinct of the temples. The Kotilingeswara Temple is popular with believers of Lord Shiva and the festival of Maha Shivratri is celebrated in the temple with a lot of fervour.

KOTILINGESHWARA TEMPLE

The ideal place to find oneself in meditation and limber up with a few Yoga asanas, the ISKCON Temple, also known as the Gowthami Ghat, is the second largest temple in South India. On the banks of the magnificent River Godavari, the banks of the Gowthami Ghat see many spiritual seekers contemplate in silence. It houses the idols of Sri RadhaGopinath, Subhadra Devi, Sri Sri Govinda Srinivas and other spiritual titans.

Rajahmundry, also known as Rajamahendri, is known as the city of poets and art. It has earned the reputation as being a powerhouse of culture in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. Considered by historians as one of the oldest Indian cities, it is also credited with the birthplace of Telugu – the language of the people of the state. The city is home to many historic temples and well as scenic spots.

MARKANDEYA TEMPLEThis Hindu temple is dedicated to the great scholar and sage, Rishi Markandeya. He was the son of Sage Mrikandu and his wife Marudmati. Sage Markandeya was born after a great penance performed by Mrikandu in front of Lord Shiva but was destined to live till the age of 16 years. He defeated death with the blessings of Lord Shiva and wrote Markandeya Purana. At present, his shrine in Rajahmundry is a famous destination and is visited by many tourists.

GODAVARI RIVERThe Godavari Bridge is a truss bridge over the river Godavari at Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh state of India. Godavari Bridge is also known as Kovvur-Rajahmundry Bridge is the Asia's second longest road-cum-rail bridge above the water. This 2.7 kilometers long bridge is the landmark of Rajahmundry and the second out of total three bridges over the Godavari river at Rajahmundry.
