3D IMPORT3D Import includes two important features for programming 3D DXF and Solid Model Import.

SOLID MODEL IMPORTWith Solid Model Import you can take a customer's 3D solid model (.stp file) and import it into the control. Solid Model Import is extremely powerful because it automatically creates the conversational data blocks directly from the selections that are made on the solid model or DXF file, and no data entry is required.

For all Hurco CNC machines, the ability to import stp files and select specific features to be machined significantly increases productivity. CANNED HOLE CYCLE BLOCKSThe multiple canned hole cycle blocks stored in the control make programming fast and easy. Canned cycle blocks available include drilling and tapping operations, boring and reaming operations, and back spotfacing operations.

LETTERING AND PART SERIALIZATIONNot only do you have the ability to add stick lettering and/or TrueType® fonts to your parts, you can place the letters along a contour, place them horizontally, or vertically.

Parts can be serialized based on letter and number combinations you define. The control will automatically increment the machined serial number each time you run the part. The control can also accept text files with pre-defined serial numbers.

INCH / METRIC TOGGLEThe control's interface allows you to quickly switch back and forth between inch and metric during programming or machining. All display and program data is automatically converted.

ROUGHING STOCK ALLOWANCEDescription: The "Allowances" tab lets you leave a specific amount of material for finishing operations (no need to alter the tool diameter or the geometry data of the feature).

When you enter a roughing allowance and don't use a finish tool, the stock will remain without being machined away.

ENHANCED CORNER GEOMETRYThe Enhanced Corner Geometry tab (in the Mill Frame data block) lets you quickly program chamfers or unique corners with different radii. Simply select Line or Arc for each corner, and specify the correct data for the feature.

FEED & SPEED OPTIMIZATIONThe Feed & Speed Optimization menu lets you save your adjustments instead of forcing you to manually enter the new values into the part program. Using your expertise, just find the sweet spot with the override knobs and store the optimal settings with the press of a button.

99 WORK OFFSETSDon't be limited by the standard six offsets (G54-G59) of Industry Standard NC. We also include 93 auxiliary offsets, for a total of 99 work offsets.

INDUSTRY STANDARD NCSince the Hurco control supports Industry Standard NC codes (also known as EIA/ISO or G-code) that are used with Fanuc®, Siemens®, and many other controls, you can use existing NC programs on your Hurco. Machinists who have Fanuc® experience will feel comfortable operating a Hurco in NC mode.

REAL-TIME PROGRAM MONITORINGWith Real-Time Program Monitoring, you won't be surprised by what machine move is coming next. See 21 lines of NC data and current modal states during run time. The Digital Read Out (DRO) includes a distance-to-go display and graphics can display a "runtime tool" that displays in realtime while cutting.

NC PROBING MACROSThe Hurco control supports part probing macros for setup of work offsets or in-process quality control.

Tool probing macros are also available for broken tool detection and tool wear compensation. If the tool is broken, a sister tool can be picked up and calibrated. If the tool is worn, the control can offset the tool within a programmed wear length and diameter range.

AUTO INTERRUPT CYCLENo need to teach the control the path the tool takes when retracting and returning to the part – the Hurco control does it for you.

TOOL LIFE MANAGEMENTThe ability to manage tools by either tolerance or cut time is a real benefit for long running parts or for lights-out machining.

If a tool is determined to be “defective” because it has reached the end of its machining life, you simply program a sister-tool to automatically take its place whenever the original tool is called in the program. The sister-tool can also be managed by time or tolerance, and have its own sister-tool if needed.
