Dimension s (in mm): length = 0.15-0,41; diameter of the tubular chamber = 0,018-0,020 .

R em arks. The species is reffered to the g. Palaeomiliolina on the base of the presence of the sigmoilina-like arrangement of the chamber in the last whorls, while by the g. Agallzammina the tubular chamber wound in a Quinqueloculina t ype manner.

D i s t r i b u t i on . Pel sonian in Italy , Yugoslavia, Hungary and Poland. 11-lyrian (partly) in Slovakia . In Bulgaria thi s species is known of Pelson ian only.

De r iva t i o nominis: laguncula (Lat.) = kind of bottle, named after the shape of the test.

H o I o t y p e: the specimen presented on pl. I, fig. 4. L o c u s t y p i c us: section Bojcov karnak , south of the village of Stan kc Li-

loculus followed by a nonseptate tubular chamber. The breadth of the tube is almost constant. Every chamber occupies one-half coil in length, early coils in quinquiloculina type, later on in the last two coils the angle between planes of coiling increased. In the last coil the tube gets rectilinear and formed well developed apertural neck. The wall of the test is calcareous. The aperture is simple, at the end of the apertural neck.

D i m ens i on s (in mm): length = 0,37-0,45; maximum length of the apertural ncck =O~IO.

R e m a r k s. The species described differs from Palaeomilioliina judicariensi . .; (P r .-S i I v a) by its more slender test with almost parallel sides, less number of the whorls and constant breadth of the tube. The most characteristic feature of the Palaeomiliolina laguncula sp. n. is the possessing of well-developed apertural neck.

D i s t r i b u t i o n. Lowermost part of the Carnian in Bulgaria.

Nom c n c I at u r e. The holotype is the specimen originally designated by K r i stan-To I I m an 11 (1964 , pl. 9, fig . 9) from the Rhaetian (Zlambachmergeln) of Salzk ammergut.

Description. The test is ovate. The proloculus is followed by several gradually enlarging chambers one-half coil in length, arranged in Quinqueloculina-type of coiling. The degree of overlap is less expressed by the last ch<ombers. The wall is calcareuous. The aperture is no visible in then sections.

Des c r i p t i on . The test is with rounded outline. It consists of a sphaerical proloculus and a second tubular chamber which forms numerous coils. In the initial part the tube coils irregularly in mutually intersectin~ planes in about 8 whorl s. Here the breadth of the tubular chamber remains constant. The following se,:eral coils formed so-called intermediate stage and have not so irreguli:lr way of coiling of the deuteroloculus as the previous OIH'. The third ~tage of coiling of the tube is not so well preserved in the species described, but the trace of the big pores (characteristic for the genus and for the species) are visible.

D i mens i on s (in mm): largest diameter of the test "--' 0,70; of the holotype = 0,29; largest diameter of the initial part of the test = 0,30; in holotype = 0, 10 ; thickness of the wall in adult stage = 0 ,015- 0,025_

R em arks. The species described is evidently in phyllogenetic links with the Upper Permian Kamurana bronnimanni A I t i n e r & Zan i net t i. In contrast to the latter, however, the number of coils in the early stage of Kamurana chatalovi T r i f o n o v a is strong! y reduced to 2-3 instead about 12 and the coiling is not so typically G!omospira-like. For this reason this part of the test has not ihe characteristic appearance of compact balls as in Kamurana bronnimanni. Likewise in contrast to the last species, in K. chatalovi the so-called intermediate stage is lacking and after the first 2-3 coils the test is formed directly by the other 3-4 remaining coils which have the typical appearance of the enlarged tube and the coarse perforation of its test walls .

Because of the recryst allization of the test, the way of coiling of the chambers is not well visible, but it can be supposed that they are enroled in varying planes. The wall of the test is calcareous, thick, and the characteristic for the genus coarse pores and radiate grooves are well-developed. The "leg" is developed also .

N om en c I a t u r e. The holotype is the pecimen originally designated by T r i -f on ova (1967, pl. 2, fig. 3) from the Anisian of Torth Bul gar ia .

Description. The test' is smal l, straight or very sligh tl y curved . It consists of a globular prolocolus, followed usually of about 6 chambt>rs with broadly rounded subquadrangular form . Characteristic feature of the species is that the chambers increase very slowly in size as added and are tightly joined one to the other. The sutures are slightly depressed, perpendicular to the axis of the te:-;t. The test wall is calcareous . The aperture is terminal.

40

D i m e n s i o n s (i n mm): length = 0, 35-0.45; breadth = 0,05-0,08. R em a r k s. According to K r i s t an-T o I I m ann the species Dentalina

lwae T r if on o v a, 1967 is a junior synon ym of Dentalina mauritii T e r quem, 1866 (1\ r i s t an-T o I I m ann, 1983). The comparison of the species described with the holotype of Denta lina mauritii T e r q u em (in T e r q u em, 1866, p. 408, pl. 15, fig . 12) shows that it has smaller and more compact test, composed of not very well diferentiated uniform in size and shape chambers , very slowly increasing in size as added, while Dentalina mauritii possess multilocular test of 9-10 chambers, which increase more rapidly in size as added. They are broader than high in the initial part of the test, later - s ubglobul<~r, very well differentiated and more loosely joined one to the other. The species described is referred here to the genus Nodosaria Lam arc k, 1812, although some specimens have slightly curved test, but the sutures between the chambers remain perpendicular to the axis of the test. By the first description of N . hoae, the paratypes illustrated on pl. II, figs. 8, 9 by T r if on o v a (1967) in fact differ from the holotype (figured in the same work on pl. II, fig. 3) by more narrow, slender test, regularl y increasing and slightly arched , more numerous chambers. By this reason they are more simi!ar to Nodosaria skyphica E f i m o v a, 1974.

Nomen c I at u r e. The holotype is the specimen originally designated by E cp H

M o B a (1974, pl. 5, fig. 5) from the Lower Triassic (Olenekian) of Ellstern Praecaucasus.

Des c r i p t ion. The test is rectilinear, slightly curved. It consist of a small sphaerical prolocolus and a series of 7-10 comparatively narrow, higher than wide chambers regularly increasing in size as added. Every chamber slightly overlap the previous one. In section the sutures have characteri stic horseshoe shape. The test wall is calcareous, thin. The aperture is radial, terminal.

D i m en s i on s (in mm): length = 0,38-0,63. R e m a r k s. The specimen described is equal with the specimen designated by

H o (1959, pl. VIII, fig. 27) as Dentalina sp. The last spacimen was previously not correctly referred to Nodosaria hoae (T r if on ova, 1967). It is most probable that the two specimen illustrated by H o (under numbers 26 and 27, pl. Vlll., H o, 1959) belongs to two different species. Nodosaria skyphica E f i m o v a differs from the halotype of Nodosaria hoae by its more slender, narrO\v test and numerous, more arched and loosely joined chambers. So the figured of S a 1 a j et al. (1983, pl. 144, fig. 10) specimen from the lower part of lllyrian as Nodosaria ordinata T r if on o v a seems more similar to No'!osaria skyphica E f i m o v a.
