1. Edge beam shall be placed in such a manner that the grooves are positioned properly.
2. Steel structure and main reinforcement shall be anchored with proper welding.
3. Alignment shall be checked for both steel structures, if required by using suitable device.
4. Recess shall be filled with high quality of the concrete not less than M 35 grade.
5. If any installation brackets were used, shall be removed after the concrete has cured.
6. SANDHYAFLEX elastomeric strip seal shall be cut into the required length and inserted between the
beams by using the proper device and to be ensured that the bulb of the seal is getting into the steel
grooves of the both edge beams.
7. When the recess concrete has become set, a sturdy ramp shall be placed over the joint to protect the
exposed steel beams and the elastomeric seal from the traffic.
8. Without carriageway surfacing, expansion joint shall not be exposed to traffic loading.

5.Omega Seal Expansion Joint

Expansion Joint as per IRC 83 (Part II) 2015, MORTH and UIC 772 2R Specification:
1. Surface shall be 1% slope in order to get water drained as shown in figure.
2. Steel bolt shall be inserted into the recess made in the deck and to be filled with M 35 grade concrete.
3. SANDHYAFLEX cap seal to be positioned on both sides of the decks such a manner that the omega
shape covers the gap and the plain surface are perfectly sat on the deck slab.
4. Galvanized steel plate(80 X 80mm) having oblong hole (40 X 20mm) to be placed on the plain surface of
the seals at both sides , such a manner the bolt is inserted through the oblong holes.Seal also to be
punched with a hole suiting to oblong hole of the steel plate to enable to get inserted through the bolt.
5. Nut to be tightened on every bolt properly and tack welded to ensure the locking.
6. On completion of installation, every aspects to be checked for proper installation.
7. wearing coat shall be done with proper care without disturbing the seal.

3. PVC Water Stopper Dumbell Type SANDHYAFLEX Water Stops are profiles based on specially formulated plasticized PVC composition. PVC Water Stopper is used in concrete masonry construction of hydraulic structures to safeguard from hydrostatic pressure and water seepage. Water Stopper also withstands expansion and contraction of joints as well takes care of any deflection and displacement arising due to change in temperature or settlement of foundation eliminating dangers of cracks since these is engineered as water tight seals in poured concrete structures. After being embedded in concrete, PVC water stops fill up the joints to form a continuous watertight diaphragm that prevents the passage of fluid. Most popular way of the placement of the water stop seal is tied to the steel frame works or small eyelet by means of small wires, certain metal clamps made to grip the water stop seal to keep it in proper position. The water stop must be designed and installed properly to accommodate joint expansions, contraction and lateral & transverse movements. In addition to these considerations, the water stop must be compatible with the concrete system and the liquids and chemicals to be contained or controlled. The basic kind of water stops, suggested normally for use in construction joints where movement is not expected, is the basic type of flat ribbed water stop, however the ribbed type with centre bulb is used in expansion joints where movement is likely to occur. 2.BITUMINIZED EXPANSION JOINT FILLER BOARDS Construction of concrete roads, runways, floor and roof slabs of buildings, involves casting of concrete in slab orm, which leads to construction joints. Provision must be made to accommodate the expansion and contraction at these joints which occurs with seasonal variations in temperature. It bears normal structural movements without breaking or cracking. It ensures sealing of joints as no gap exists between the joint spaces.
