INTRODUCTIONThe College is situated at Akola Banhitakli Road and close to the Kachiquda.Ajmer Railway Iine in
spreading compound, which is a pride for the people of Barshltakli. The College was formally inaugurated on 5m
Sept. 1989, on the birth day of the Great and Noble Teacher and former President of India Late Shri. S.Radhakrishnan. The College was established on l6th June 1989 by Shri. M. R. Pawar, a social worker andeducationalist who formed Pratibha Shikshan Prasarak Mandal at Januna. We are very greatful to the Hon'bleShri. Sharadchandraji Pawar, Former Centrel Minister Shri. Ghulam Nabi Azad and Minister of Higher EducationGovt. of Maharashtra and Prof. Javed Khan. These dignities helped to establish this College.
The Ex. Chief Minister of Maharashtra late Shri Sudhakarrao Naik inaugurated the College. It was a dreamchild ofPrincipal M. R. Pawarto establish an educational institution forhighereducation atthe place like Barshitakliwhich is backward in all respects and mass residents of minority people.
The College started with 134 students and 4 Lecturers. About l33l students were in the academic year2012-13. and there are 90 teaching and non-teaching staffin the college. It includes 34 assistant professor at Sr.
Collger, 12 Lecturer at Jr. & M.C.V.C. Department,23 non-teaching staff and 2l Temporary teacheres working inthe college. This is only college in Sant GadagebabaAmravati University which has huge building, well furnishedLaboratory madhuban garden, Indoor Stadium, Big play ground, computer rooms, Library which has more than3000 books. It is only due to hard work and attempt of the principal and founder presdint of GNA college. Fromits establishment college is making progress by leaps and bounds,
Within a short span of six years the Management spgnt 1.50 Crore to purchase land and construct buildingfor the College. This is the only rural college in entire Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University to have such spaciousground and building, which is the proud of not only Akola District but also Sani Gadge Baba Amravati University.It is only because of the constant efforts and strong will power of the president Principal M.R.Pawar the Collegegot permission to start Junior College in Arts & Commerce stream. MCVp programme was started in this College,to provide professional training to the youth in 1997. Ajunior college to provide a science education was establishedin Ghulam Nabi Azad Arts and Commerce College. In 1998, we started first English medium convent in the nameof Late Genibai Pawar Golden Jubilee Convent in the College premises. 2006 was another landmark year for thesociety & the college. In the College Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Study Centre and in 2006, Pandit Nehru StudyCenter was established with UGC assistance. In the same year 2008 as many as 26 degree College teachers wereprovided with UGC fellowship for Minor Research Project and three faculties were provided Major ResearchProject. This is a very creditable achievement.-
ln2017,we got permission to start Science faculty in Degree College and PG class in Music. So the dreamof our founders to bring education from KG to PG to the doors of rural Backward & Minority people became atruth.
We provide various Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma courses with the UGC assistance like for thebenefit ofthe rural and backward students ofthis area. The college has also Girls hostel that provide free boarding& lodgirg to backward class students. An Indoor Stadiurn & Madhuban Garden adds its utility for the students.
The college takes pride in holding national seminars, Conferences, Symposia Lecturer Series etc. fromtime to time. The Principals'conference organized in 2006. The Department of Commerce and Economics OrganisedConference in 2007 and department of Music organized one-day workshop in the same year. Dr BabasahebAmbedkar Study center of our College has organised a one day National Level Conference in 2008 and two days
National level Conference was organised by Dr Babasaheb Arnbedkar Study center and Pandit Nehru StudyCentre jointly sponsored by UGC in 2009. The College orginised fist Intemational Buddhist Conference on27th&28th Dec.20l0. It is great achievement of the college. This session Nine Students from Degr:e College gotUniversity colour Coat. One of our Junior college students was selected at National level.
For Extension activities, College has full-fledged NSS to render sacred services to society. The new Collegebuilding was inaugurated the then Dy. Chief Minister Gopinathji Munde in a function it was presided over by thegreat holy Banjara Saint Ramrao Maharaj on 10s October 1997. From that very day, with the blessing of Maharajthe graph of College progress is going upwards continuously. The prime objective of the College is not only toprovide knowledge but also to help the students to become responsible citizens. To enable our students to adaptwith new and chariging circumstances several programmes are organized by Shri. Kisanraoji Patvar, Secretary ofthe SocieS ahd with the help of the staff of this College.
We have also launched our website www.pspmj.org in 2007and our activities and programme are availablethrough Intemet. The new science was inaugurated by shri. Mukulji Wasnik, social justice minister central govt.

Accreditation:The College received permanent affiliation of the Sant Gadge Baba Arnravati University
Amravati in March 2001 and College is recognized by UGC unO& Section 2(F) and 12(B) i;November 2001, which itself is a great achievement. Thi coltege is awarded c++'giade Oy URAC,Banglore and after that College is marching towards overall development as per the parameters ofNAAC.
Study centres and other Facilities:1. Buddhism Study Gentre
Buddhism Study Centre was established in the college with U.GC. assistance in 2010-201.t. Thecentre has acquired books, study material and other related literature on the life and activities of GautamBuddha and Buddhism. lnternational Busddhist Confernce on Fundamentals of Buddhism was heldduring 27 & 28 Dec. 201 0 at our college.
2. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Study GentreDr' Babasaheb Ambekar Study Centre was established in the college in 2006 with UGC
assistance and undertaking several programes including all india ConferenceJand Lecturer Series.The Centre has acquired books, study material and other related literature on the Life and Social,Educational thoughts, activities of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Centre Organized an All lndiaConferences on Dr. BabasahebAmbedkar's thoughts in March 2008 and twiOays national levelconference in March 2009. Number of participants from several States attended ihe conference,Ambedkar Study Centre is organizing Lecture Series on regular basis inviting well-knownpersonalities including SocialWorkers, Frofessors and Political ieaOers, Scholars etc.
3. Babusingh Rathod Banjara Study Gentre BarshitakaliThis study centre was established for the study and research of great freedom fig,frter , the
pride of banjara community and source of inspiration of founder president principal MadhukarPawar is Late Babusingji Rathod. Babusing Rathod (Naik) Banjara btuOy Cenir" was estabtishedin the College in 2010-11 this study centre is purely autonomous i.e. run by pratibha ShikshanPrasarak Mandal Januna Tq. Barshitakli Dist. Akola our parent society. fnii is the first banjarastudy centre of this sort in lndia. 21 Students have Complited their Ph. D. & M. phil. Research work.in this Study Centre. This is the highest achivement of our Coilege.

5. Girls Hostet:This college is a rural college mass students belong to poor and backward communities mainly
from nearby villages, who wants to aspire of higher education has to travel every day from their village tocollege and they have to face the problem for transportation. To solve this problemi thecollege has provideda women hostel for 40 girls in college premises.

The college has provided a Boys hostel for 20 Students.
7. Higher Secondary Vocationat Course (HSVC)This Course has been introduced in Maharashlra from the academic session 1988-89 under the
Central Government's NEP of 1996. ln six groups 30 professional courses are conducted. The course isdesigned toface need of the society to provide technical knowledge to meet the need of technologicalmanpower. To make the young generation self-dependent Computer Education has also been included inHSVE courses.

The- admission committee will handle all matters related to admission. 15) Eligibility for Junior College:Applicant must secure at least 60 marks i.e. 4Oa/o in science subjects at S.S.C or equivalentexamination for seeking admission to Xlth Science.
16) Promotion (from Std. Xlth to Std. Xtlth)Promotion from Std. Xlth to Xllth will be on the average of the marks scored in the four unit tesis, and thetwo terminal examinations during the years. The promotion rules are as follow-
a) Minimum marks for passing in each subject are 35.b) Marks for theory and practical in a subjec{, which has two parts, shal[ be taken together, and the total of
marks will be considered for passing or a distinction.c) lf a candidate appears in all the subjects at one and the same examination fails in one or more subject,
and has deficiency of marks for passing in one or more subjects he/she shall be condolence to amaximum of 30 marks in the aggregate, but not exceeding 10 marks in anyone subject.
d) The result of StdXl shall not be decided exclusively on the basis of the marks obtained in the annualexaminatiori. According to instructions from Education Board, equal weightage shall be given to (a) Firstterminal examination (b) Second terminal examination (c) Year works, including practical, unit tests andother assignments. The final result of the students shall be decided on the average of the above threeoptions. {a + b+ c.;- 3}.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS
The details of the syllabus, scheme of examination, important information/instructions etc will beinformed by the Teachers in the classroom orwill be displayed on the Notice Board and in daily Prayer also.Students should regularly attend lectures, prayerand refer Notice Boards. The College will not be responsibleif a student is unaware of any important infordration/instruction given in the classroom or displayed on theNotice Board.
Attendance1. ln order to qualify for the Board/University examinations, concessions and scholarships students
must a{end at least 75% aftendance of the lectures (including practical) delivered in each subject,satisff the college authorities regarding their general progress, and measure up to the minimumstandard of physical efficiency prescribed.
2. Students enrolled in NSS shall have to put in the minimum,?ttendance or working hours prescribed bythe college and university.
3. Students who fail short of the required attendance also do not qualify for the EBC concession/scholarship. Such students will have to pay full fees, as students disqualified or removed from theEBC Scholarship list are not entitled to freeship.
4. Leave of absence will be given to students at their own risk. Even a medical certificate may notcondemn deficiency in the percentage of attendance.
5. A monthly attendance record will be displayed regularly for the information of students, so that theymay make good in the shortfall of attendance
6. No relaxation will be given to students who fall short of attendance in regular classes.
Gollege Prayer:Everyday prayer is held collectively at 12 O'clock to create the feeling of patriotism among the students.
All the students are compelled to remain present for the prayer. After prayel Principal gives necessary oral

suggestions and valuable guidance to the students. lt is the best medium of interaction between the Principaland the students. lt helps a lot to solve the problem/ difficulties of students directly and immediately.
College Examinations:All students should appear at unit test, terminal and annual lest examination conducted by the
college,lailing which they will be liable to pay the fine imposed by the principat. They may atso bedisqualified ftom appearing at the Board/university examination.
Enrolment:1) All new entrance in the senior college i.e. B.A, B.COM & B.Sc. first year students will have to
enroll themselves in the University.2) Such students should submit the Enrollment Form duly filled in and pay the prescribed fee at the
time of admission.
Girls'Common RoomThe college has a girls'common room with basic amenities.
Identity Card:1) Every bonafied students of the college shall be issued ldentity Card from the college.2) Students should always keep the ldentity card with them when:
a) He/she is in the college premises.b) He/she is attending the classes, college examination or college function.c) He/she is receiving scholarship, Library Books, Money order, railway or bus concessions, caution
money or deposits or office works etc.d) He/she is attending Educational tours, sports & Games or other activities.
3) Students should produce the ldentity Card whenever the college authorities demand it.4) A duplicate identity card will be issued on paying prescribed fees in case he/she lost originat ldentity
Card.
Medical Examination:All students of the College are required to undergo medical examination before a Medical Officer
appointment by the College. lf they failed to appearfor,the examination are liable for a fine or other disciplinaryaction.
Physical Classes/Exam :
All under graduate students are compulsorily required to attend the Physical Classes. Those whofailed to attend the classes shall invite disciplinary action as per the University rules.
Cycle Stand:Students should park their bicycles/vehicles at the college Cycle Stand, students who violate this
rules will be fined.
Students !nsurance:An lnsurance Scheme against accidents is run in the College. The insurance is for one year. All students arecompulsorily required to be registered under this scheme and to pay the premium.
College MagazineCollege Magazine 'Vasant' is published by an editorial board consisting of the members of staff and
student and students who have a flairforwriting. This gives an opportunity for self-expression to the studentsin Marathi, Hindi, English and Urdu. The annual publication of 'Vasant' with separate sections in English,Hindi, Marathi and Urdu provides students with an outlet for their creative skills in writing prose and poetry.Its more important function is to record for posterity, the milestones that occur in each year in the life of thecollegeNational Service Scheme {N.S.S.)
The College has been allotted one units for boys & girls of 100 cadets. Students'form all classes ofsenior college can apply for the same. They are required to put in 120 hrs. of work per year including a 10day camp: The main object of the camp is to motivate the students to work for the upliftment of the society.N.S.S. endeavours to inculcate among the students self-discipline and a sense of service activities. lnterestedstudents should contact the programme officer of N.S.S.

Social Service camps, blood donation drives and schemes to promote small savings are among the regularactivities of the association. A notable achievement is the adoption of the "Patkhed" Village in Akola District
of Maharashtra, where, volunteers have helped in construction of roads, children's education and treeplantation among other things.
DISCIPLINES AND CODE OF CONDUCT
Discipline:1) Self-discipline is the best discipline. All students are expected to observe rules and regulations
currently in force to enable the smooth working of the college.Students should keep harmony, silence and educational atmosphere in the premises.Students are prohibited from doing anything inside or outside the College that will interfere with its
orderly administration or affect its public image. No outside influence, political or any other, should be
brought in to the college directly or indirectly.Students should make careful use of college Books, Furniture, Laboratory equipments and the collegeproperty in general. The cost of damgges to it, if any, would be recovered from students.
Smoking and Ghutkha chewing are strictly prohibited. Offenders shall be liable to face legal action.
Students resorting to unfair means at the exam will be dealt in accordance with the provisions of the
Government of Miharashtra Act Nb. XXXI of '1982 and the Maharashtra University Act.1994.
Code of Conduct:1) Mobile Phone Prohibited in college compus for all student.2) Use of Cellelular Phone (Mobile) in Class Room as well as College premises is strictly prohibited as
per Govt. & UGC Ruls3) Students should always carry their valid ldentity Card whenever in college or representing the college
at any other place. Further, it should be produced whenever demanded by the any of the college staff.
4) White representing the college at any other place, the student's behavior should not be detrimental to
the image of the college.S) ln case of any problem, personal or academic, students should report to the Prof-in-charge of their
respective class, Junior College Supervisor or the Vice-Principal, who will help them solve theirproblems.
6) Students should not collect any fund from other students or from outsider without the writtenpermission of the Principal.
7) The conduct of the students in the classes and in the premises of the College shall be such as will
cause no disturbance to teachers,.fellow students or other classes.S) Every student shall wear a clean and decent dress while coming to the College.g) No Society or Association shall be formed in the College and no person shodld be invited on the
College campus without the specific permission of the Principal. The Principal has a right to refuse
such permission.10) No student is allowed to display any Notice/Circular/ Poster/Banner in the Collegepremises without
the prior permission of the Principal. Strict action will be taken againstthe defaulters.
11) No student will be allowed to conduct any political activity in the College premises.
12') Outsiders are not permitted in the College premises without the prior permission of the Principal.
College students are not allowed to bring their relatives/friends to the College premises without the
prior permission of the Principal. Strict action will be taken against the concerned outsider as well as
the College student who is instrumental in bringing outsiders to the College premises.
13) All meetings, -cultural programs, debates, elocutions, etc. organized on the Collegepremises must be hetd in presence of teaching staff members and with the prior permission of the
irrincipal. The subjects of debates/elocutions must have the prior approval of the Principal.
14) Students must take proper care of the College property. Strict action will be taken against the studenU

The powers relating to the disciplinary action in the college will vest with the Principal and his
decision in this respect shall be final. Anyone who violates the code of conduct will be severely

Dress Code:The college has decided that all students of junior college including H.S.V.C., senior college UG

Note Relating to Fees:1) ln case any change in the fees, the same will be notified as and when received from the University/
Government.2) Examination Fees from 12, B.A, B.COM, B.Sc & B.Sc. (Home Science) and M.A students will be-
collected along with examination forms as and when notified by the HSC Board/Sant Gadge BabaAmravati University
3) Practical/Lab. Fees and Deposit are to be paid by only those who have offered the respective subjects.4) Only fresh entries will pay admission fees and deposits.5) The Fees are for academic year. Those who have any genuine difficulty in paying the fees in one
installment should approach the Principgl in writing, for permission to pay the Fees in two installments.
Deposits:1) The amount of Caution Money,.Library Deposit, Ldboratory Deposits, if any, will be refunded when a
student leaves the college or cancels the admission. Deposits not claimed within one year ofleaving the college or cancellation of admission will be forfeited.
2) The amount of deposits will be refunded to the student after 15 days from the date of receipt of theirapplication duly signed by student and guardian.
3) The students who have not surrendered their ldentity Cards, Original Deposit receipts mustsurrender the same against the refund of deposits othenvise he/she stands to forfeit the deposits.
