2. For the purpose of this Ordinaneet the following term s oesnitions.5 shall llave the following meaning ; if not meonsistent with theèontext : . '

' ' Colony ' ' shall mean the Colony of Kenya and shall ineludethe Proteetorate thereof . .

' ' Direetor ' ' shall m ean the Direetor of Fzdueation or any10 person lawfully aeting in such eapaeity. '

' ' Department' ' shall mean the Department of Edueation ofthe Coiony.

' ' Board ' ' shalt m ean the Board of Education constituteé bythis Ordizzance. .

' ' School Distriet' ' shall m ean azly one ot the areas into whieh1;5this Colony rnay be divided for the adm inistration of Edueation.
