The purpose of this Bill is to include the KenyaPolice R eserve in that list.

N o expenditure of public m oneys will be involved if this Bill ispassed into law .

Grants will also be slzbject to thc provisions of the CrownI-ands Ordinartce (Cap. 155 of the Revised Editiort of the Lawsof Kenya) and to the fcllowing Special Conditions ;-- '

(i) N o buildings shall be erected on the area unless plans(inclpding block plans showing the position of buiid-ings), drawings, elevations and specifkations thereof shallhave been previously approved by the local authorityand the Com missioner of Lands or such other personas he m ay appoint.

(ii) The grantee shall not at anv time subdivide the plotsave with the written consenl of the Com m issioner ofLands.

(iii) The grantee shall not assign, transfer, sublet or otherwisodispose of any portion of a plot or any buildings erectedthereon or enter into any m ortgage charge or agreem entfor sale in respect thereof within five years of the dateof the contmepcem ent of the grant excçpt that writtenpermission to m ortgage for building purposes only m aybe given at the discretion of tht C om missioner of Lands.

(iv) The Government or such person or authority as maybe appointed for the purpose shall have the right to'cnter upon the Iand and 1ay aàd bave accoss to ïele-graph or telephone. wires, watcr m ains, water pipes anddrains and electric m ains of a11 descriptions wbetheroverhead or undtzrground and the grantee shall not erectany buildings in such a way as to cover or interfere withany existing alipzments ef lrain or service pipes or tele-graph or telephone wires 'and elcctric m ains.

(v) The grantee shall pay such taxes, charges, duties, assess-m ents or outgoings of any description which m ay nowor at any future date be ilnposed, charged or assttssedb any G overnm ent or local authority upon the land 'yor the buildings erected thereon including any contribu-tion or other sum paid by the G overnm ent in lieu

Each allottee of a plot shall ?ay to the Commissioner ofLands within 14 days of notificatlon that his/her applicationhas beep approved the . asgessed stand premium and the initialroads, drains and water supply charëes in respect of the plotas set out in the Schedule, together wlth the survey fces and therent due frq,m the first of the mbnth after the acceptance of theplot to the 31st of December following, the fees payable inrespect of the preparatîon and registration of the grant(Sh. 120) and the stamp duty in respect of the grant (approxi-mately 2 per cent on the stand premium and annual rent). lndefault of payment within the specifed tim e the purchaser shallhave no further claim to the grant of the plot. Conditions oj the Grant

(9 The grantee shall erect complete for use and occupationwithin 24 m onths of the date of comm encement of the term' ofthe grant a btlildlng of approved design on proper foundations,cônstructed of stone, burnt brick, or conçrete With roo:ng oftiles or such other perm anent m aterials as may be approved bythe Com m issioner of Lands and the Local Authority and shallmaintain the same, including the external gaintwork in a goodand substantlal tenantable repair and condltion during the con-tinuance of the term of the grant.
