Safety Instructions I. Electrical safety

Make sure the supply power voltage accord with the standards----

220V-250V/50hz alternating current before installing. Please get a power

converter if you are in a country with 110v current.

To avoid possible electric shock caused serious damage, please disconnect the

power cord from the outlet temporary before moving machines.

If the machine damages, please contact us for maintenance. If the damage caused

by the users when they dismantle or repair independently, please contact us for

spares you need. II. Operating safety

Please carefully read the relevant information provided by the manual before

starting using this product.

Make sure the power cord has been properly connected properly before using the

products. Also please check that are not parts loosen inside the machine that

could cause a short circuit, sometimes due to shipping that can happen.

Install the equipment in stable work platform to use, where the air mobility

should be small as possible. Avoid it closing to air conditioners, fans and the

other outlet.

In case of electrical short-circuit; avoid the contact of the device with water.

Do not use this equipment close or in contact with flammable and explosive

substances.

Keep a safe distance from the device when is in operation, The use of dark

infrared instead of infrared can be deceiving to the eye, when the machine is in

operation the space between the preheated and top heater is extremely hot. Keep

any part of your body or any other device or product away from the area,

including the auxiliary lamp. After finish working with the machine, do not

touch the heaters to avoid burning.

Product Conditions and Warranty Service

Service Statement: Enjoy warranty maintenance service for three years, in which the spare parts in the

first year is free. And the transport costs arise from maintenance should be paid by the buyers since purchased. Usually we cover any defect on pieces or parts of the device, you just need to send proof of malfunction either on mini video or pictures and we will send you the part, if you want to send a full machine, you need to pay shipping both for sending it to us, and we send it back to you. Parts and modules do not pay shipping charges.

Only the actual cost of spare parts should be paid from the beginning of the second year (the 13th month) to the end of the third year (the 36th month) since purchased. Please call to ask the specific prices of spare parts. Also the shipping costs arise from maintenance should be paid by buyers during this period.

Each product has one unique serial number that needs to be stated to receive service for warranty or technical support plus proof of purchase. In purchases online, the website product number on the website you purchase is your serial number.

Please send the parts that are not working properly to the country close to you that was in the list above.

Using the Smart Digital Panel Control BIRD ® SDC 4K BGA Rework Station is totally controlled by a computer controlled smart panel center, programmable and easy customizable for all your needs The programmable controller contains an in-built set point generator in addition to the controller function. This set point generator can produce a temperature/time profile with

16 segments (0~9). When the program is running, the current set point from the set point

generator is fed to the control algorithm. The current set point is continuously shown on the lower display. The sixteen segments are defined in the order: Ramp 1, Dwell period 1, Ramp 2, Dwell period 2..., and are executed in succession.

Program Parameters Setting Ramp Rate1: A ramp consists of a slope(linear gradient) and a target setpoint. The control setpoint increases or decreases at a linear ramp rate from the actual measured value until a specified target setpoint is reached. The relative positions of the actual measured value and the target setpoint determine whether the slope of the ramp is positive or negative. Parameters R1, R2, R3... express the ramping rate in unites per minute (0.01~99.99), parameters L1, L2, L3... the appropriate target setpoint in display units. If R1 = END, the program will be ended when the program runs to the slope. Target Setpoint 1: The target value to which the setpoint ramps when the programmer has been placed into RVN. Dwell period 1: In a Dwell period, the target setpoint, which has been attained, remains unchanged for a fixed period. All the dwell periods are defined by their duration in minutes with parameters D1, D2, D3...(0~9999). When the program is running, these parameter display the time remaining in the active dwell period. If the parameter equals zero, the dwell period is skipped. When the controller runs in the PV displaying status: 1). Select the target program pattern number with the PTN/ key. 2). press SET/PROG key, the first program parameter appears in the upper display. The value associated with this parameter will be shown in the lower display.

3). Use ▲ and ▼ key to modify the value. 4). Press the PAR/SET key, the next parameter appears. At the same time, the modification has been saved in the memory. Use ▲ and ▼ key to modify the value. Repeat this procedure till all the parameters are set. Or if there is no key operation within 16 seconds, the menu times out automatically.

Working with the BIRD SDC 4K 1. Getting Ready ① Fit the motherboard on the support

② Use the thermocouple by placing it on top of the chip to be reworked/reflowed.

③Adjust the height of TOP HEATER with the knob(Make sure your chip is in the middle of the top heater around 3 to 3.5 cm from the heater)

2. Working. 1. Turn on the main power Switch

① Set all your BHC Control to the same level. or

use OUT1 in the Digital Panel to set the Bottom Heater. To set manually follow step 2 and 3. ② Hold down the SET button for 5 seconds, the instrument switches to show AH. ③ Press key ◀ to set AH temperature, the panel will show blinking the previous

used set temperature. Press key▲ ▼to adjust temperature,,Press key ◀ again to set new number.

2. Select the appropriate temperature program segment, and then press the start switch.

At any operation moment you can press Stop for 3 seconds and the Machine will stop.

3. When program is finished and Alarm indicates you the temperature is reached, it will

turn off the power, or you can do it by yourself. Check the contacts and the solder for

proper finishing. The following charts give you an idea of the procedure in detail on your

soldering.

3. After Work is finish. 1、 Turn Off Switch for top and bottom. 2、 Remove motherboard and let the machine rest before turn it off totally. 3、 Machine to be turn off , needs to be cool down and not hot, also do not let the machine

in stand by while you reball, turn off the machine when is not in use.

Warning:

Do not turn off the Main Power until the machine is cooled down.

Heaters can be very dangerous on the contact with skin or body

parts.

Recommendations 1、 Install the machine in a fresh area with no air currents, avoid to install the machine close to

air conditioning units, fans or other air flow devices. 2、 Place the thermocouple of the BIRD ® ANY CHIP IR3000 Rework Station properly on

top of the chip so the temperature can be accurate. 3、 Use insulation tapes to avoid capacitators or other IC components damage due to the heat

used in the BGA Chip. Also remove the tape when the work is done to avoid short-circuits 4、 After removal of BGA chip ,Clean your PCB and your chip pads with Tin Line to avoid the

presence of cold solder, to avoid Pads Damage. 5、 The alignment of a Chip in a board can be 80 % accurate in the contacts to be workable. Do

not force your chips, let the soldering melt properly, when you are putting back the chip, the size on the chip surface to the board will decrease by 50 % to have a good contact finished. Make sure both side of the chips are level at the same height, if that is not happening, your top heater needs to be checked for accurate and even heating patterns or your work area level needs to be check, make sure both sides of the top heater are exactly at the same distance from your chip to get better results always.

6、 To improve success rate of Rework, Let the PCB and Chip dry, if not can cause burning and

explosions of IC Components. 7、 Do not over do your PCB or the board will decolorize and lose conductivity even can burn 8、 Use a preheating site properly to start loosen up and expand your board, then can increase as

need it to match the top heater temperature and remove the chip easier. On top heating No work need more than 235 degrees in pop up a chip , and no need more than 270 – 280 for reflowing which also is applied very little time . Please do not over heat your boards. Remember the combination of Preheating and Top Heating is what makes the job done, not one or two separated or a disruption on one temperature or extreme temperature in one of the units.
