The BIM Toolkit will support this full process. It will help clients generate sections of an Employer's Information Requirement (EIR) document. It will also help bidders and the supply chain develop their BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDP) in response to the EIR.

New : LOD = Level of Definition Level of Definition = Level of Detail (LOD) + Level of Information (LOI) Level-of-Definition In addition to BIM being about managing the process and the key tasks, it is also about modelling the project in terms of digital objects. The BIM Toolkit will include thousands of level-of-definition guidance pages that assist with this process. These will give bandings for level-of-detail that covers geometric detail and level-of-information that covers the associated information.

12. Digital built Britain

We have also defined a plan to support Far East and Australasian.

Actions – Leadership 1. HM Government to continue to commit to world leadership

position

2. Develop relationships with global partners to assist with the localisation of standards and methods as well as developing new standards

3. Continue to communicate direction, progress and lessons learnt

12. Digital built Britain

UK Export of BIM With the National BIM framework and mandate, UK

is fully capable of exporting AEC skills, even for the

supply chain, the lowest tier.

World Bank requires GIS, AIIB – BIM

UK BIM and export experience e.g. Middle East

Cloud-based NBS BIM Toolkit contains all

Government project information – progress, scale,

models.

Classification, Protocol (contract), dPoW, iEx/COBie

& Info Management lay out a good foundation for

Project Control.

What is common?

Information Management

BIM is a process involving the generation and management of digital representations ... support decision-making … from conceptual, design, construction, through operation… Spirit of UK BIM : All Digital, continuation of AVANTI and CPI

Speaker’s opinion : B Building is a noun, not a verb, i.e. not for civil engg yet. I Database* M Modelling * Clearer picture by replacing all ‘Information’ by ‘Database’

Paperless Construction

How important is a Paperless Site?

PAS 1192 Part 3 addresses the importance of identifying the information that an organisation needs to run effectively and how that information is derived from multiple pieces of information about individual assets. Some of that information has to come from any new asset construction projects and hence the required strong link between those who operate assets and those who construct assets in order to define the specific Employers Information Requirements.
