Every year around Thanksgiving, the White HousePresident gets to pick if they pardon a turkey or if theturkey will die. Pardon means the turkey is excused frombeing eaten for the rest of it's life. After the turkey ispardoned the turkey gets to live out it’s life on a farm or ona school campus. Most of the time the turkey dies within 8months after it gets pardoned which is unfortunate. The pardoning of the turkey started back in 1963 whenPresident John F. Kennedy pardoned the first turkey. It isworth stating he later ate the turkey. Pardoning didn’tbecome a yearly tradition until 1989 when George H.W.Bush pardoned a turkey named Liberty.

Congrats to the two turkeys named Corn and Cob that gotpicked to stay alive this year!
