complex is connected with a peculiar perception of all things – including psychic and mental things – as ultimately reducible to quantifiable material entities. This is what gives it its ‘outwardness’.”

Towards Consensual Corroborationof Experiental Data in Science

Transpersonal psychology is moving towards consensual corroboration of experiential data. Examples:

• NDE research: comparison of reports of patients who spontaneously revived after clinical death.

• Studies in lucid dreaming, remote viewing and effects of • Studies in lucid dreaming, remote viewing and effects of hallucinogens: simultaneous consensual experience of alternative realities (e.g. works of Carlos Castaneda)

• Zen meditation: comparison of kensho experiences (a PhD dissertation at Asian Social Institute)

• Cases of “mutual dreaming” (Stanford University Sleep Research Center)

• Communication between people while performing OBE or out-of-body experience

Towards Consensual Corroborationof Experiental Data in Science

Suggestions of William Braud and Rosemarie Anderson, of the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology:

• Use of various internal modes of sensing: bodily awareness, intuition or inner knowingness, emotion/feelings and aesthetic sensing in addition to the emotion/feelings and aesthetic sensing in addition to the intellectual mode;

• Research by an “integral research team” composed of members specializing in each of the above;

• Validate in terms of “coherence” among the above;

• “Sympathetic resonance” between researcher and readers.

Their hypotheses: pluralistic ontology and pluralistic epistemology

Modalities of International Conflicts

“The most important wars of the 21st century will be fought no longer on the physical battlefield, but in corporate boardrooms, laboratories, stock exchanges, classrooms, and stock exchanges, classrooms, and shop floors.”

– former President Fidel V. Ramos
