CHALLENGES&

WAY TO OVERCOME

2. PROCESS OF SOCIALIZATION LIMITED TO WITHIN ETHNIC GROUPS

• The process of socialization among members of one ethnic group is not condusive to a wide exposure to other's culture element.

• This resulted in ignorance of other culture's tradition, religion, way of life and way of thinking

• Leading to the lack of appreciation, understanding and respect for other races.🔸 WAYS TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEM.-

Parents have to teach their children to respect and accept differences and avoid doing things that can cause misunderstanding between the different races.-

Teaching sivic subjects to educate students about other cultures and traditions to help them understand and respect the tradition of others.-

Correcting the mindset that our race or culture is better than others and eliminate bad impression or thoughts about them.

OTHER RACES QUESTIONED THE PRIVILEGES AND DEMANDED EQUALITY.

•Because of article 153 in FC•Other races did not look up in the history

•There are differences between fair & equality.

•They forgot about the history.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DIFFERENCE Socio-economic differences among the many ethnics groups in the country, linked for a long time to the history of colonialism. Socio-economics lead to the dissatisfaction among some of the people. This is because they feel deprived of the chance to share in enjoying the nation’s wealth. As we know, when british was colonized Malaya, they divided Malay, India and Cina in three different places and jobs. Malay worked as farmer and lived in village, India worked as rubber tappers and lived in estate and china works as businessman and lived in city. So racial unity is not created. Recently, government in their mission to delevop agricultural sector. As we know, malay dominate the agricultural sector while cina dominate industrial sector. This action will be offended by Cina as they think that government are bias to them.

Ways to overcome:

Through The New Economic Model (NEM).• It is an economic plan in Malaysia unveiled by Malaysian

Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
