Asrofin. 2020, Persepsi mahasiswa asing terhadap kemampuan berbicara

mahasiswa Universitas Muria Kuudus. Skripsi bidang studi pendidikan

Untuk mewujudkan visi mampu menyatu dengan masyarakat global,

Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) telah menandatangani beberapa Memorandum

of Understanding (MoU). Berupa kerjasama di bidang pendidikan meliputi

penelitian, publikasi, dan pengabdian masyarakat dengan beberapa perguruan

tinggi. Keramahtamahan diperlukan bagi peserta dan tuan rumah, dimana tuan

rumah menerima tamu dengan niat baik. Mahasiswa UMK sebagai tuan rumah

selalu menggunakan bahasa Inggris dengan mahasiswa asing. Persepsi menjadi

salah satu cara terbaik untuk itu. Berbicara adalah salah satu dari empat

keterampilan yang dibutuhkan peserta didik untuk berkomunikasi dengan cara

yang efektif. Bagaimana mahasiswa asing memahami mahasiswa Universitas

Muria Kudus (UMK) melalui Speaking.

Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah

untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa asing terhadap kemampuan berbicara

mahasiswa UMK.

Penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dalam studi kasus. Metode

tersebut untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi mahasiswa asing terhadap kemampuan

berbicara mahasiswa UMK. Penulis mengumpulkan data melalui kuesioner.

Kemudian, penulis menganalisis data angket dengan membaca dan menganalisis

jawaban angket yang akan diisi oleh mahasiswa asing, menghitung total respon,

mengkategorikan jawaban angket, menghitung data berdasarkan kategori menjadi

persentase menggunakan rumus hitung (Healey, 2011:2). dan menafsirkan

hasilnya.

Hasil penelitian ini, penulis dapat menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi

mahasiswa asing terhadap kemampuan berbicara mahasiswa UMK adalah baik.

Hal ini terlihat dari aspek berbicara berdasarkan pengucapan, tata bahasa,

kosakata, kefasihan, persentase pemahaman yang baik.

Pada akhir penelitian ini, penulis menyarankan agar mahasiswa

meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara sesuai persepsi mahasiswa asing. Untuk

panduan yang baik atau penutur asli. Namun mahasiswa UMK tersebut belum

menguasai berbicara. Namun mahasiswa UMK paham apa yang dibicarakan

mahasiswa asing. Mahasiswa UMK harus mempelajarinya untuk menambah

pengetahuan dan mengembangkan keterampilan berbicara dalam situasi yang

berbeda.

To realize the vision of being able to complete with the global community,

Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) has signed several Memorandum of

Understanding (MoU). In the form of collaboration in the field of education

including research, publications, and community service with some universities.

Hospitality is needed for the participants and host, where in host receives the

guest with goodwill. The UMK students as the host always using English with

foreign students. Perception becomes one of the best ways for it. Speaking is one

of the four skills learners need in order to communicate an effective way. How the

foreign students understand of Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK) students through

speaking.

Based on the problem, the objective of the research is to find out the

foreign students perception toward the speaking skill of UMK students.

The writer used qualitative research in case study. That method is to

describe the foreign students perception toward the speaking skill of UMK

students. The writer collected the data through questionnaire. Then, the writer

analyzed the data of questionnaire by reading and analyzing the questionnaires

that would have been fulfilled by foreign students, count the total responses,

categorize the questionnaires answers, count the data based on the category into

percentage using formula of calculating (Healey, 2011. 2). and interpreting the

result.

The result of this research, the writer could conclude that the foreign

students perception toward the speaking skill of UMK students is good. It could

be seen from the aspect of speaking based on pronunciatio, grammar, vocabulary,

fluency, comprehension is good percentage.

In the end of this research, the writer suggests that students should

improve speaking skill what’s dealing with foreign students perceptions. In order

to good guide or native speaker. However, the UMK students are not mastering in

speaking. But UMK students understand what the foreign students talk. UMK

students must learn it to enhance their knowledge and develop their speaking skill

in different situation.
