World Day of Prayer
for Vocations
Comfort in the
Arms of Our
Blessed Mother
Do you ever feel like
you could use some
help approaching God
in your prayers?
The Memorare is a
prayer that reminds us that we have a
wonderful advocate and protector in the
mother of our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In our prayers to her we honor and worship
her Son, who is more than happy to listen to
His mother’s pleas on our behalf.
The Memorare, printed below, invites us to
ask the Blessed Mother for her assistance and
her grace, especially when we feel most
troubled in our daily lives.
Prayer
REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who
fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or
sought thy intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I
come; before thee I stand, sinful and
sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy
hear and answer me. Amen.
Thank You, Thank You!!!
Thank you to those who have made donations
to St Elizabeth Parish for the equipment we
needed to purchase which allows us to stream
the Masses.
It was an expense we had not planned for but
it has allowed us to bring you the Masses in
your home. We feel it’s worth it!

One Million
Rosaries
for Unborn Babies
Begins Friday, May 1st
and continues through
Sunday, May 3rd, 2020
This annual pro-life prayer event began over
10 years ago and has received support from
many people over the years.
Even persons in nursing homes, homebound,
etc can participate in One Million Rosaries for
Unborn Babies so spread the word!
Please pray at least one Rosary (but the
more the better!) during May 1-3 for an end
to the surgical and non-surgical killing of
unborn human persons.
Thank you
What does it take for our eyes to be opened?
Every day, a man laboriously walks down the Main Street of town. With great difficulty but graceful determination, he
places one foot in front of the other, uses a crudely made staff for support, and walks. His pace is slow, but he walks.
What does he hope to see? Where does he want to go? What does he find? We all walk through life. The type of
“walking” life requires is not always physical but is most assuredly emotional and spiritual. We walk, we look, we
encounter, and we seek. How we do these things and what we actually find is determined by what we carry and what we
allow ourselves to discover along the way.
If walking is too challenging for us, we may choose to isolate and stay alone. If we are afraid to walk, we may become overly dependent on others
providing for us and abandon the journey. We can walk and pay attention only to what is in front of our feet and never notice the immensity of what is
happening around us. The road is never the same twice. The journey is always different. What kinds of things do you notice as you walk through life? It
seems that the disciples of the Road to Emmaus missed a lot at first. We do as well.
We are called to walk with purpose, to listen, and to notice things that may not at first be apparent. We have to allow the One who has a special claim
on our soul to enlighten, instruct, and inspire us. The incarnate mystery of God is pulsating in and through all of creation, where the presence of the
Word who became flesh can be discovered. He has been with us all along. How could we have missed Him? Our journey brings us back to the breaking
of the bread, and something begins to stir within us. We begin to understand, and things look differently. Bread, body, wine, and blood bring us to see
that everyone and everything is a “Eucharistic” encounter. We become what we eat and we see what we eat. We continue to walk. Our eyes are now
opened, and we recognize Him. Our hearts burn. Stay with us. Please stay with us.

Inspiration from
Pope Francis
Jesus' resurrection shows
us that death does not
have the last word; life
does.
Christ has been raised, so it is possible to
have a positive outlook on every event of our
existence, even the most difficult ones and
those charged with anguish and uncertainty.
Ways we can Prepare
for the Miracle of the Mass at Home
Dear Friends, many of us approach Mass in different ways. Here are a
few suggestions that may help to personalize the Mass for you. During
the week, take a moment to look at the Sunday readings. Is there a
word, line or message that jumps out? Reflect on that message in your
daily prayer leading up to weekend Mass. Then on the day of Mass,
plan time to quiet yourself. This will vary for everyone. Planning will help to avoid the stress and
angst of rushing. Before Mass begins, quiet your thoughts and your heart by offering praise,
thanksgiving for the blessings in your life; an apology for the hurts you have caused or the
opportunities that were lost to bring charity to another; and, ask our Lord to unite these with His
suffering and sacrifice that we celebrate in the wonder of the Mass.
