APGA INNOVATION

AWARD 2021

APGA has introduced a new Award in 2021: The APGA Innovation Award.

The APGA Innovation Award aims to highlight innovation in our industry and to bring to the attention of the wider membership products and services that could be beneficial for their businesses.

Entrants to the award were limited to Exhibitors at the 2021 APGA Annual Convention and Exhibition. Most of the entrants will be at the Virtual Exhibition, so take the opportunity to find out more about the products and services contending for the award by visiting the virtual stands of the Exhibitors who have

entered the Awards. You can find out which Exhibitors have entered the Award in the Innovation Award Booklet which is in your Convention satchel. Please do not hesitate to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about these products and services and then use that knowledge to vote for one of the top five. This year, we have 16 entrants in the Awards. A brief description of each is available in the Innovation Award booklet listed in alphabetical order by Exhibitor. Our panel of experts has selected the top five innovations from all the entries. The shortlisted innovations are indicated by a star on the page of the entry. At 13:30 during the Virtaul Convention session on Wednesday 13 October, the five shortlisted candidates will seek your vote when they each outline the qualities of their product or service in a five-minute pitch. The final decision will be made by delegates voting via the Virtual Convention Platform. Voting will close at 17:00 on Wednesday 13 October and the winner will be announced during the presentation of the APGA Annual Awards from 14:40 on Thursday 14 October. You only have one vote, so do your research carefully.

Atlas Gas has been an Australian joint venture partner with the former RMG Group of Companies since 1999 and been supplying gas control and measuring equipment in Australia for the past 22 years.

In August 2009, the RMG Group was integrated into Honeywell’s Process Solutions portfolio.

As a result, Atlas Gas was appointed as the official Australian and New Zealand agent for the former Gorter Controls B.V. of the Netherlands in January 2011, which complemented the RMG / Bryan Donkin product range.

We supply a wide range of commercial and industrial pressure regulating equipment, flame arresters/vents, gas meters including turbine, rotary and ultra sonic meters, volume correctors and gas chromatographs. This is complemented by our full range of regulating and metering stations.

We are ideal partners from the initial design stages through to turn-key solutions and on-site product commissioning. All our products and services comply with the relevant Australian and international safety standards.

The former RMG brand, now renamed ‘HON’, retains its enviable reputation as a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of gas control and measurement equipment and systems to the gas industry worldwide.

This resulted from combining over 200 years’ experience and expertise with an impressive, yet calculated strategy of continuous product development, investment and a total quality commitment to all aspects of the business.

The entire RMG Group’s product range was integrated into Honeywell’s Process Solutions product portfolio in early 2017. All products are now identified by the three-letter name ‘HON’.

Atlas Gas also represents UNI-Geräte GmbH of Germany in Australia and New Zealand, providing a comprehensive range of AGA approved automatic shut-off values to suit all major combustion applications.

Atlas Gas supplies major utility companies as well as wholesalers and distributors of gas pressure regulators, flame arresters, vacuum/breather vents and solenoid/pneumatic automatic shut-off valves.

The Hills Rockslinger is a fast and convenient way to place rocks, sands, gravels and topsoils in hard-to-reach areas of your construction site.

This method of installation is ideal for applications such as the backfilling of retaining walls, footpath cut outs and general garden or revegetation areas, as well as being a preferred option for more specific and challenging projects such as bio-retention basins, fuel tank stabilisation backfill and civil utility trenches. The versatility and application options are extensive and a large part of the success and popularity of these machines. Our Rockslinger fleet, commonly referred to as stone slingers or slinger trucks,

provide a cost effective and convenient option for both commercial and domestic projects.

Simple, we save you money!

We can efficiently deliver large amounts of material at a rate of one tonne per minute, giving you more bang for your buck per load. More impressively, we can place this material accurately, saving you labour and equipment costs by cutting out the wheelbarrow or alternate moving equipment. We are also known for leaving our projects cleaner than when we arrived, so rest assured on our immaculate all-round service.

Locusview equips global energy companies with an innovative digital construction management (DCM) platform to help them easily and efficiently manage infrastructure capital projects from pre-field to close-out.

Locusview was created by and for the gas industry. Since our inception, our goal has been to work closely with our customers to ensure that our solution supports their scale so they can meet demand.

The core of our solution is to empower field crews to capture high accuracy digital as-sketches with material traceability during construction. The result is improved data integrity that serves as the foundation for a high-fidelity digital twin. Simultaneous mobile and web access gives all stakeholders the ability to manage the three crucial phases of infrastructure construction projects: pre-field, construction and close-out.

About the Platform

In the pre-field phase, the platform integrates with budget, asset, GIS, design, and work management systems to create a Digital Job Package that is scheduled and delivered to the field.

During the construction phase, digital as-constructed sketches are created in the field in real time with Locusview Mobile, high-accuracy GPS and barcode scanners, with minimal manual data entry. Additional data fields are displayed based on pre-configured data model rules using complex conditionality alongside smart forms for a completely paperless process.

This digital workflow automates material traceability, validation and reconciliation, includes joint and pressure test records, verifies personnel qualifications, and generates detailed reporting.

Simultaneously, back-office management uses Locusview Web to gain real-time field visibility, enabling project progress tracking and smart alerts and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and work processes.

Locusview’s technology acts as a single source of truth for all stakeholders. The result is a high-fidelity digital twin, better operational awareness, and improved decision-making.

Headquartered in Tel Aviv and Chicago, Locusview has 130 employees in global offices in Australia, India, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.

Primus Line® is an innovative technology for the trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipelines for different media such as oil, water and gas. The process is based on a flexible aramid reinforced pipeline and a connecting technology, which has been developed specifically for this system. The oil industry is facing new challenges as a result of damage to steel pipelines caused by internal corrosion. Possible leakages might cause significant environmental damage; they also mean increased costs or even loss of reputation for network operators. Primus Line® is suitable for the renovation of oil pipelines due to the medium-specific

inner layer and acts as a corrosion barrier between the transported fluid and the host pipe. Fluids to be transported cover media from categories such as crude oils, fuel oils, oil slag and other refined products.

Primus Line also offers a spool-able aramid reinforced pipeline for temporary above ground fluid transfer, such as flowback water, process water or sewerage.

Since 2001 the German company Primus Line supplies its tried and tested system for the trenchless rehabilitation of pressure pipelines to over 50 countries worldwide.
