I went to Tsim Sha Tsui with my parents and my younger brother last night. Mum was beautiful. She was the lady with the earrings and the necklace. Dad was the man in blue jeans. My younger brother was the boy with the umbrella. I wore a purple T-shirt. We went to the Avenue of the Stars. I said, ‘There are so many sculptures.’ We saw many hand prints too. I felt very happy.

Then a cold wind blow. I felt cold so mum gave me a scarf. I said, ‘The scarf is beautiful’. Mum said, ‘Yes, I bought it from a clothing store nearby.’

Suddenly, the scarf and the umbrella were blown away. Mum cried, ‘Oh no! The scarf and the umbrella are blown away!’ We tried to catch the scarf and the umbrella but we couldn’t.

I suddenly felt something was behind me. The sculpture moved. A sculpture of the Superman jumped up and caught the scarf and the umbrella. Dad said thank you to the sculpture and asked, ‘Um, are you a human?’ Superman said, ‘At first, I just wanted to scare you but your things were blown away so I needed to help you.’

It was a happy and surprising day because of the amazing experience.

Last night, my family and I were very happy. We dressed up nicely. My mum was with the earrings and my dad was with his new glasses and watch. We went to the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui. We took photos of the sculpture of Bruce Lee. We also looked at the hand prints there. Dad asked, ‘Do you want to take a photo?’ Mum, John and I answered happily, ‘Sure!’ Dad said, ‘One! Two! Three! Smile.’

Ten minutes later, my mum bought a pretty scarf for me. It is long, soft and with heart prints. She asked, ‘Rebecca, do you like the scarf?’ I answered cheerfully, ‘I like it very much. It’s mine. It keeps me warm in winter. Thank you so much, Mum!’ I felt very happy.

After a while, it was windy. A strong wing blew off my new scarf. It flew on the sculpture. Mum said surprisingly, ‘Oh, no! That’s your new scarf!’ My brother John asked, ‘What happened? Where’s the scarf?’ Dad suggested, ‘We can’t get it back. Let’s go and buy another one.’ I felt upset.

Then, we went to the clothes shop to buy a new scarf. I said, ‘Oh, no!’ Mum asked, ‘What happened?’ I said sadly, ‘The heart printed scarves are all sold out. There is only one scarf with stars left! Can I buy it, please?’ Mum said, ‘OK!’ I was glad. After that, we went off for dinner.

I learnt that I should look after my things carefully.

Hong Kong Wetland Park is a great place to visit. It is in Tin Shui Wai. We can see some plants and animals there. We can play in the kids’ playground. We can go there by light railway.

I have been there four times. I went there last month. I went there with my family. The weather was hot, so we wore T-shirts, jeans and hats.

First, we looked at the plants, animals and insects such as the special blue butterflies in the Butterfly Garden. Then, we went to the kids’ playground. My sister and I played on the slide. It was exciting.

At noon, we went to the restaurant and had our lunch. It was yummy. After that, we looked at the crocodile, Bei Bei. We watched some birds. Finally, we looked at the fiddler crabs and the common mudskippers.

I like watching birds and the animals. I was very happy. I will go there again because it was great!

Dear Thor,

Hello. My name is Daniel. I am eleven years old. I come from Hong Kong. I am writing this letter to you because I am a big fan of you.

I admire you because you are very brave. Your sister came back and destroyed Asgard. However, you fought with her and saved your people. Although you are defeated, you did not give up. I have learnt that I need to be calm and should never give up when we face problems.

If I were you, I would ask for help because a team of people can always finish the task more easily as we can support one another. I am interested in knowing how your sister attack you. Is Loki not your real brother? Why did he attack you?

I am excited to know more about you. I want to meet you too. Please reply me when you are free.

All the best, 6A Chan Pok Man Daniel

My favourite festival

In Hong Kong, people will have different ways to celebrate their favourite festival. My favourite festival is Christmas. My family and I will have Christmas dinner together on the Christmas Eve. At Christmas, we can exchange presents with friends, family members and schoolmates. We can also watch Christmas lights. It is beautiful.

I like Christmas very much because I can get some presents and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ together. Besides, I can go travelling with my family during my Christmas holiday. We travelled to Taiwan last year. It was very relaxing.

What do you want to be? 6E Law Yuen Yi I want to be a Latin dance teacher. Why do I want to be a Latin dance teacher? Because I like dancing very much. Dancing makes me feel happy. Dancing makes me more lively and confident than before. If I become a dance teacher, I will teach my students the dance steps.

Dear Principal Lee,

We are writing this letter because the Charity Club would like to help Caring World to raise money for the poor children in the Third World. We think our ideas will help ease problems for the children there.

They are suffering from hunger. There is a drought so they cannot grow any plants. Therefore, there is not enough food. They are poor because their parents cannot get a job. They cannot drink the water because the water is too dirty. They are often sick because they do not have enough medicine and there are very few doctors.

We want to hold a fun fair on 13th December. On that day, we can sell some cookies, perform a drama and organize booth games. First, we need to make some posters so that the parents will know about this fun fair. Then we need to get some student helpers for performance or the games. We expect there will be around 500 people joining this event. We think we can raise one thousand dollars.

We hope you will be able to help us organize this charity event.

Yours sincerely, 6D Chan Ka Wing

Dear Pinocchio,

My name is Jenny. I am twelve years old. I come from Hong Kong. I am writing this letter because I am a big fan of you.

I admire you because you are a wooden puppet who can talk. I think you are dishonest and lazy. You tell lies to others. Luckily you become good and kind in the end.

If I were you, I would not tell lies. I would listen to Dad’s advice. I want to know the length of your nose. How long is it?

I am very excited to know you. If you have time, please write me back.

Best wishes, 6B Leung Ka Tsing Jenny
