PREFACE

Four wheelers plays very useful and important role in

the day to day life of every modern state. Four

wheelers have become a status symbol in our minds. We

have requirements of four wheelers for different

reasons few of us use it for office daily, few of us

use it for traveling and few of use it as a status

symbol these days. We chose our Four wheelers on so

many bases we see it’s mileage, it’s Average, it’s

looks, it’s power, it’s comforts, it’s brand, how

economical it is. Gone are the days when people use to

purchase the four wheelers on the basis of good

averages, and mileage, now it is the new concept of

power has come in the market, youth has turned the flow

of stream. We have so many we are have one of the

biggest automobile industry. In Bareilly also the trend

has been changed.

OVERVIEW OF INDIAN AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

The automobile industry has changed the way people liveand work. The earliest of modern buseswas manufacturedin the year 1895. Shortly the first appearance of thecar followed in India. As the century truned, threebuseswere imported in Mumbai (India). Within decadethere were total of 1025 busesin the city.

The dawn of automobile actually goes back to 4000 yearswhen the first wheel was used for transportation inIndia. In the begining of 15th century Portuguesearrived in China and the interaction of the twocultures led to a variety of new technologies, including the creation of a wheel that turned under itsown power. By 1600s small steam-powered engine modelswas developed, but it took another century before afull-sized engine-powered vehicle was created.

The actual horseless carriage was introduced in theyear 1893 by brothers Charles and Frank Duryea. It wasthe first internal-combustion motor car of America, andit was followed by Henry Ford's first experimental carthat same year.

One of the highest-rated early luxury automobiles wasthe 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost that featured a quiet6-cylinder engine, leather interior, folding

windscreens and hood, and an aluminum body. It wasusually driven by chauffeurs and emphasis was oncomfort and style rather than speed.

During the 1920s, the busesexhibited design refinementssuch as balloon tires, pressed-steel wheels, and four-wheel brakes. Graham Paige DC Phaeton of 1929 featuredan 8-cylinder engine and an aluminum body.

The 1937 Pontiac De Luxe sedan had roomy interior andrear-hinged back door that suited more to the needs offamilies. In 1930s, vehicles were less boxy and morestreamlined than their predecessors. The 1940s sawfeatures like automatic transmission, sealed-beamheadlights, and tubeless tires.

The year 1957 brought powerful high-performancebusessuch as Mercedes-Benz 300SL. This was the Indianautomobile history, and today modern busesare generallylight, aerodynamically shaped, and compact.

operational efficiency incrementally boosted. It is for

this reason that VECV has registered the winning

combination of clean operational profitability coupled

with zero debts, thereby fuelling the way for further

productive investments and continuing the virtuous

cycle.

Under his watch, VECV has consolidated on its

traditional strengths in the market, while gradually

creating capabilities for a larger foray into newer

ones. In typical style, he and the company have

preferred to keep their cards close to their chests,

even as far-reaching plans are put into motion.

The company has gone from strength to strength, the

joint venture has been consolidated, a new range of

powertrain and vehicles have rolled out in the recent

past. Meanwhile, market share has doubled, while

Eicher Genuine Filters

Using Genuine Filters will ensure that vehicles last

longer while delivering great performance. The product

range includes:

Fuel Filters

A fuel filter will ensure that undesirable dirt

particles, such as dust, rust, water and deposits from

the tank are caught, thereby ensuring that the engine

performs optimally.

Oil Filters

The oil filter traps various pieces of dirt, metal and

non-metal particles, soot and carbon deposits in the

engine oil. An Eicher Genuine Filter not only ensures a

regular supply of clean oil to the engine, the high

quality standards also avoid a leak of unfiltered oil

into the engine.

Air Filters

Eicher Genuine air filter ensures the input of clean

air into the engine and also creates ideal operating

conditions for the engine. A poor quality or

excessively dirty air, if not filtered properly, can

wear out engine components and adversely affect fuel

consumption.

THEARTS

VE has always been identified as a traditional

carmaker producing value-for-money busesand right now

the biggest hurdle VE is facing is to shed this image.

VE wants to change it for a more aggressive image. VE

Baleno has failed due to one of the major reasons being

thatcustomers could not identify VE with a Bus as

sophisticated as VE . VE is looking forward to bring

about a perception change about the company and its

cars.VE started the exercise with the new-look of

buses first markets for this radically different-

looking Bus gave this endeavor a nethrust. VE has also

changed its logo at the front grill. It has replaced

the traditional VE logo on grill ‘stylish ‘M’ with S’.

market. The next threat VE faces is the growing

competition in compact cars.Companies like other models are

planning to come out with small segment busesin near

future.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research methodology is a way to systematically solve

the research objective. It may be understood as a

science of studying how research is done

scientifically.

In it we study the various steps that are generally

adopted by researcher in studying his research

objective along with logic behind it. It is necessary

for the researcher to know not only the research

methods/ techniques but also the methodology.

Researcher not only need to know how to apply

particular research technique, but also need to know

which of these methods or techniques are relevant and

which are not and what would they mean and indicate and

why. All this means that it is necessary for the

researcher to design his methodology for his objective

under study as the same may differ objective to

objective.

Thus when we talk of research methodology we not only

talk of the research method but also consider the logic

behind the methods we use in the context of a research

study and explain why we are using a particular method

or techniques and so that research results are capable

of being evaluated.
