After biting the bison for some time and not seeing any results, the mouse was tired and fed up. He jumped o� the bison’s back and went and stood in front of him. “Why are you blocking my way?” the bison asked. “Clear out or you will get crushed.”The mouse said, “You have already crushed me. See what you have done to my tail.” He added, “Didn’t you feel any pain when I bit you all over your back?”This surprised the bison greatly. He laughed and said, “Neither did I realise I had stamped over your tail nor did I feel you biting me all over my body. But, if it really happened, I apologise.”The bison’s answer left the mouse speechless. He was convinced that it was useless to argue with that thick-skinned animal as it is of no use arguing with a stupid person and he sadly walked back home.

Once, a huge bison lived deep inside high grass that was situated by the side of a lake. One day, the bison, feeling thirsty, made his way towards the lake to drink water.A small mouse was sitting and relaxing by the side of the river. When the bison crossed past him, walking towards the lake, he accidentally stepped on the mouse’s tail. The mouse screamed in pain but the bison did not notice anything. The mouse looked at his tail and found that it had been completely crushed. He was infuriated and wanted to take revenge. “I will bite this bison till he feels the pain I felt!” he thought to himself in anger and climbed on to the bison’s back. He started biting the bison all over his back as hard as he could with his sharp teeth. But the bison’s skin was so thick that he did not feel any pain from the mouse’s bites. In fact, he was not even aware that there was a mouse on his back!

Sam Visits the London Eye Discover anew place

Take a look behind me! This is unlike any other ferris wheel you have ever seen! The

London Eye is the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel, on the South Bank of

the River Thames. It was formerly known as the Millennium Wheel or the revolving ob-

servation wheel.

At a height of 443 feet(135 meters), the London Eye was the world’s tallest cantilevered

observation wheel, before it was surpassed by the Star of Nanchang, in Nanchang,

China.

The London Eye was originally conceived by David Marks and Julia Bar�eld of Marks

Bar�eld Architects in 1993, in response to a competition organised by the Sunday

Times and Great Britain’s Architecture Foundation. The competition was organised to

build a new monument in London, to commemorate the new Millennium.

It was �nally built by the architects themselves and was funded by British Airways, Tus-

sauds Group and the architect couple themselves. The London Eye was constructed

over a period of two years. Construction began in 1998 and it was inaugurated by the

British Prime Minister, Tony Blair on December 31, 1999.

The food pyramid depicts the di�erent food groups that are essential for the human body. The pyramid is divided into �ve food groups, each group suggesting the nutrition required for a human body. Each food group is represented by a colored stripe, thin and bold. The thinner the stripe, the lesser the body needs of that food group. The pyramid also has a human �gure climb-ing up the stairs, suggesting that everyone needs to grow and be active and the food groups help keep the body �t.

The �ve major food groups represented in the pyramid are as follows:Dairy Products: This includes products produced from the milk of cows, goats etc. It includes milk, yogurt, and cheese. They are important because not only do they provide calcium but also protein, Vitamin A and Vitamin D. Fruits: This includes fruits like apple, orange, banana, mango etc. Fruits are a natural source of sugar, �ber and vitamins, especially vitamin C. They help in keeping skin healthy and digestion good. Vegetables: Vegetables include all fresh green, orange or dark green vegetables, the stem, root or �ower of an edible plant is also a vegetable. Peas, cabbage, potato, spinach etc. are all healthy sources of nutrition. Vegetables contain Vitamin C, iron and calcium. Meat, beans and nuts: Good meat like chicken, turkey, and �sh should be eaten. Eggs, dry beans, tofu, soy and nuts can be an alternative source to meat. They are a major source of protein, iron, zinc and Vitamin B12. Grains: This includes all grains, lentils, breads, pasta, cereals and rice. This is a very important food group as it provides energy due to carbohydrates present in them.

The city of Harappa was divided into two parts- The Citadel, which was home to the great public bath, as well as large residential buildings that housed around 5000 people. It also had two large assembly halls, but there is no evi-dence of the presence of any kings, priests, armies, palaces or temples. So the purpose of the Citadel is still unclear. The Lower City was laid out in a grid like pattern. Most people lived here and seemed to have been traders or arti-sans.

Seals which were discovered during excavations had pictures of gods, animals and other inscriptions. Some of these seals were used to stamp clay on trade goods. Goods made in the Indus valley traveled as far as Mesopotamia (pre-sent-day Iraq), Afghanistan and other parts of India. Jewelery that was dis-covered in the area suggests that the people of the Indus Valley had access to gold, copper and semi-precious stones.

The city had good flood control measures and irrigation systems in place. In spite of this, evidence suggests that Mohenjo-daro was destroyed and rebuilt seven times. This was because of the damage caused by severe floods and the river changing its course.

According to one theory, when the Aryans arrived from the Northwest, they hardly encountered any resistance from the Harappans. The Harappan people were overpowered by their superior military skills. All the cities fell one by one, weakened already by constant floods and rebuilding. Harappans, who were termed ‘Dasyus’ by the Aryans, either joined the lower sections of the Aryan community or fled south. This theory is no longer popular.

Drought and a slowdown in trade with Mesopotamia and Egypt are now thought to be more likely causes of the decline of the Indus Valley civilization.

The fall of Mohenjo-daro is a typical example of the decay of this great cul-ture. It took another thousand years before a city as well-planned was built again.

According to scientists, the most “advanced” dinosaur was a small �esh eating dinosaur

called Troodon. If it had continued to evolve, it would have been smart enough to be our

president and the ferocious T-Rex would have been our prime minister.

But what if dinosaurs didn’t believe in democracy? We would have felt like small rodents in

front of them and they would have used us as slaves or for domestic help or maybe they

would have treated us as tasty and juicy burgers.

Had the dinosaurs been around, nature would have been kind enough to grant us defen-

sive features, like, long sharp claws and muscular legs.

What if humans were are able to dominate dinosaurs? We might �nd a way to eradicate all

the dangerous dinosaurs around us. As for the herbivorous ones, we would have found a

way of domesticating them to serve our needs.

We could use the Brachiosuarus to pluck fruits from tall trees. Along with chickens, we

would have dinosaur farms and have reared dinosaurs like protoceratopes for their meat

and eggs instead. Or perhaps we might even use their precious hide to make products like

branded bags and shoes.

We could have used fast dinosaurs like Coelophysis and Ornithomimosaurus to travel and

saved on fuel expenses.The strength of an army or a nation could be judged by the number

of dinosaurs, it has or maybe, the kind of dinosaurs.

In conclusion we think that its a good thing that the dinosaurs became extinct. Or else, our

planet would have been very di�erent and chaotic place. What do you think?
