Harp & Crown Credit Union Job Description Chief Executive Officer CWA01/18 1 JOB TITLE: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (P/T) RESPONSIBLE FOR; ALL STAFF REPORTS TO (TITLE): BOARD OF DIRECTORS SALARY BAND: Attractive Remuneration Package JOB PURPOSE The purpose of the Chief Executive Officer for the Harp & Crown Credit Union is to be responsible for the Strategic and operational delivery of all aspects of the credit union’s business. The role is responsible for supervising the financial and accounting systems and for developing and growing the business and ensuring compliance with all aspects of regulation and legal responsibilities. The Chief Executive Officer has day-to-day responsibility for all financial matters including strategy development, governance, investments and management on behalf of the Harp & Crown Credit Union. Working with the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for compliance with all financial, accounting, auditing and information obligations and related duties. In addition, the Chief Executive Officer has oversight of and is ultimately accountable for contracting and procurement and the monitoring of non-financial performance. CONTEXT AND SCOPE The role of the Chief Executive Officer is a highly important role in the Harp & Crown Credit Union Ltd. The scope of the role is to lead and manage a comprehensive and efficient financial organisation ensuring that there are effective systems of budgetary/financial control and forecasting in place which provide robust performance information and mitigates risk. As the Senior Manager, the Chief Executive Officer’s role is the chief spokesperson on financial matters. The post holder also provides leadership to the organisation, taking a role in brand awareness and external communications.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIALMANAGEMENT

1. ProvideseffectivefinancialandbusinessleadershiptotheBoardensuringthattheHarp&

CrownCreditUnionmeetsits’objectives.

2. Producesfinancialstatementsforauditandpublicationinaccordancewithstatutory

requirementstodemonstrateeffectivestewardshipofmemberresources.

3. Leads,developsandimplementsthefinancialstrategyfortheHarp&CrownCreditUnion.

4. Ensureseffectivesystemsareinplacetomanageallbudgetstotheagreedlevelsandto

identifyandtakestepstomitigateanyrisk.

5. EnsuresthereisaneffectiveperformancemanagementframeworkinplacewithintheCredit

Uniontomonitor,predictandmanageriskstofinancialandnon-financialperformance.

6. Deliversrobustfinancialandassetmanagement.

7. Setsandmonitorsbudgetsmaximiseincomeandensurevalueformoney.

8. Takesleadininvestmentmanagement,advisingFinancialGovernanceGroupandBoard(and

its’Committees)onallinvestmentmatters.

9. Implementingpropersystemsofrecordkeeping,accounting,compliance,riskmanagement,

andinternalcontrolinaccordancewithlawandsuchpoliciesasareapprovedbytheBoard.

10. Ensuresfullcompliancewithdesignatedgovernancepolicyregardingliquidity

11. EnsuresfullcompliancewithallHMRCrequirements.

1. WorkseffectivelyandcollaborativelywiththeBoardofDirectors(andits’Committees)
