College Website Department of Physics Introduction The Department of Physics is started in 2014 with the outset of science faculty in the college. The department has three qualified staff members, well equipped laboratories, non-teaching staff and well set library facility. The Department of Physics offers Material Science, Electronics, Lasers, Astrophysics as elective courses at UG level. The department has history of very good results of about 80 to 90 % every year. About 60 to 70 % students get admissions for various branches of post-graduation. Many of our students have been well placed in research, academics and other areas. Emphasis on student centered teaching learning process Physics department encourages many student centric, extra-curricular and co- curricular activities. KOKISHIN The Physics Club

The Physics Club is an activity started in 2019. Apart from weekly lectures, problem

solving sessions and documentary screening, students also organise Physics/Astronomy

exhibitions, seminars, workshops, even various competition.

Physics Club is a platform which provides opportunity to students to arrange lectures

and demonstrations of some physics experiments. The clubs also run a wallpaper

activity, white board activity, Popular Talks, Competitive and Entrance exam guidance

lectures, Guest Lectures and Demo sessions.

Know Your Lab

Department of Physics started to conduct

“Know Your Laboratory” from the

year 2016-17. It was observed that 12th

passed students has very less knowledge

about laboratory and handling of

instruments. So in order to get them

familiar with laboratory we started this

activity. We conducted this activity on

12/07/2019 at Physics Laboratory.

“Science Fair”

Department of Science organized Science Fair among students of Science

to boost knowledge about Science related subjects. Students of Science presented

their love towards science by participating in the competitions held on account of

“Science Fair” .Poster Competitions and Model competitions and scientific

rangoli competitions were arranged. Most of the students were taken part in the

competitions. Many models were prepared by students. This created interest

among students about science. Following are the names of students who won the
