Dentons 2022 AgTech Pitch Competition

The Dentons 2022 AgTech Pitch Competition is now open.

Its aim is to bring exposure to an important industry that is experiencing significant technologicalgrowth.

Agriculture is one of the foundational pillars of Canada’s economy, in addition to providing a securefood source for its citizens as well as those of importing countries.

Experts predict that all agricultural and agri-food exports from Canada will reach a value of CA$75billion by 2025, making Canada one of the top five exporters of agri-food products globally. Throughthe Dentons AgTech Pitch Competition, they strive to provide entrepreneurs with a platform to drivetheir concepts forward by connecting innovative new ideas with a traditional sector that isfoundational to Canada.

What is AgTech?

Agricultural technology or agrotechnology (abbreviated argi-tech, agritech, AgTech, or agrotech) isthe use of technology in agriculture, horticulture, and aquaculture with the aim of improving yield,efficiency, and profitability.

As Canada’s provinces push for more diversity within their economies, many talented entrepreneursare ready to take hold of those new opportunities.

EligibilityEntrepreneurs can apply for the Dentons Agri Tech Pitch Competition if they have a start-up(including pre-seed, seed, early, and growth stage) in Canada.

The product or service does not need to be in the agricultural sector but must have innovativetechnology, products, or service applications that can be customized to benefit the agriculture

industry.For example database technology plus A.I. can be adapted to provide farmers with insights into howbest to harvest their crops.

Creative Coast’s FastPitch Competition

Savannah’s epic startup pitch event is back in 2022! The Creative Coast’s FastPitch event provides aplatform for promising entrepreneurs starting new businesses or growing existing ones. The eveningallows for contestants to each make a 5-MINUTE PITCH of their ventures in front of a live audience,including investors. All pitch participants are vetted and have received extensive coaching andfeedback from experienced business mentors prior to the event. Mentors helped the pitchcontestants refine their idea, understand their business model and financials, articulate their pitchand executive summary, and craft a slide deck. ITSMF and Athletes Unite presents the Inaugural Bridging Innovation Pitch Competition forentrepreneurs.

The Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF), formed in 1996, began with aconversation between a few prominent technology executives who discovered that only 3% ofinformation technology management roles were held by Black professionals. Studies suggested thatnot enough Black professionals were positioned for senior-level technology positions. Elevate Nexus Pitch Competitions

Elevate Nexus provides resources and thought leadership to Indiana higher-education institutionsand the entrepreneurs they engage. Elevate Nexus Pitch Competitions offer promising startups,preferably engaged with Elevate Nexus partnered colleges and universities, the opportunity tosecure foundational capital needed to launch their businesses.

Pre-seed awards are for startups seeking funds to build a minimum viable product. Seed awards arefor companies that are further along and are building and testing the processes that will be used toultimately scale the business. It is up to the business to review the eligibility requirements belowand determine if they should apply for a Pre-Seed or Seed Pitch Competition.

Applicants are not required to have participated in the pre-seed category prior to applying for theseed category. Applicants who have previously applied for one category may reapply in the samecategory or apply to a different category in subsequent competitions.
