Scope and ObjectiveThe mission of the Starup Focus Program is to establish SAP Hana as aviable and attractive platform for startups to build cutting edgeapplications.The program assists the startups to achive this goal byproviding all necessary expertise from the Idea phase to the Go ToMarket phase.

The Program consists of three main phases.They areRecuitment,Development Accelerator and Market Enablement.

The Development Accelerator is the technical enablement pillar of theSAP StartupFocus Program (SFP). We focus our efforts beginning with when apartner(“startup”) starts exploring the potential benefits of building onSAP platformTechnologies through to delivering a production ready solution tomarketleveraging that technology.

The purpose of the Hana Solution Validation Checklist is to verifythat the startup application based on SAP HANA platform leverages thekey technological components of SAP Hana and that the finalapplication or solution meets all the standards of an applicationrunning on an SAP Platform.

Hana Based Application TypesSAP Hana based applications can be categorized in 2 main categories:

1) External Applications: External applications use an external application server(Java,Abap ..etc) on top of the SAP Hana database.

2) Native Applications: Native Hana applications are based on XS Engine, without an external application server.
