3.9. Schedule redundancy mode

3.9.1. Schedule redundancy mode

In the redundancy mode, the schedules are synchronized, the channels are

backed up according to the 1 + 1 scheme.

Channel resources are preconfigured.

Network commands from Client application are duplicated on both servers.

Content is uploaded to both servers, file names and paths to them must be identical.

Schedules are periodically synchronized during operation. If errors occur in the

"Channel manager", the channel will be highlighted not in green, but in orange (in

case of desynchronization within four frames) or in red (in case of serious errors). For

instance, if the file specified in the schedule is missing on the server.

The schedule for "VPlay5" is stored in a specific file on the main server. There

is no need to provide an access to it or place it somewhere, both channels work with

the same schedule according to a special algorithm.

3.9.2. Configuring Schedule Redundancy

In order to configure the redundancy of schedules, you must perform the

following steps:

Using an icon located on the desktop, start "vpControl" application (Figure

122).

Figure 122 – Icon for "vpControl" application

In "vpControl" application window, expand branch "VPlay channels" (Figure

In the "Channel redundancy settings" window, mark the checkbox "Allow

channel use in redundancy scheme".

The "Configure" button will become enabled.

Click on "Configure" button.

The "Channel redundancy" window will open (Figure 126).

Figure 126 – Window "Channel redundancy"

Use the Search button to search for available servers.

In the "Host" field, select required server.

Click on "Update" button.

In the “Channel” field, select required channel.

Press "OK".

Notes:

1) In order to configure channel redundancy, both servers must be in

configuration mode.

2) After configuring of the redundancy, reboot both servers.
