Akmal : Hello, Richard and Keong. There is a boot camp organised by English language society of the school at the end of this month. Are you both interested in joining the camp?

Richard : Yes, I would love to join the camp but I require some details about it.

Akmal : The main objective of the English Boot Camp is to improve the students’ capability in using the language, in an interactive way, while building their self-confidence in doing public speaking at the same time.

Richard : That sounds interesting. What are the activities held during the camp?

Subject: A Holiday in Bangkok

Dear Sumala,

Our family went for a holiday in Bangkok last week. We left the hotel as early as 7.00 a.m. in the morning and rode on trishaws to the floating market by 7.45 a.m. We ate our breakfast and bought some fresh fruit at the market. We spent our time there for almost 2 hours.

We arrived at the Elephant Sanctuary 15 minutes later and had a chance to go on an elephant ride. There, we fed the elephants bananas and sugarcane.

We ate our lunch at noon and continued our trip to Bangkok handicraft shop. We watched how they made the beautiful crafts at first hand and decided to buy some souvenirs for our relatives and friends. Since Mum is the member of Antique Collectors Club, she bought some old items for the club members. We visited the snake farm afterwards and took some photos with snakes.

In the evening, we had tea in a restaurant. Soon thereafter, we took a boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River and watched the sunset all together. At night, we returned to the hotel. We felt tired but happy. It was such a blissful one-day journey for our family.

We rested ourselves and prayed at the hotel. At night, we had dinner together at Sara Seafood Restaurant. This restaurant provided Westerns food, Arab cuisines and Malay food. We ate a lot of food that my parents ordered for us. After we finished our dinner, we took a chance to do window shopping and walk at row of shops there. A lot of shops sold souvenirs, clothes, bags and many things that we could buy to give to other people.

On second day, we had breakfast at the hotel and started our journey at Langkawi Island. My sister had already booked our boat to go around in Langkawi Island. The islands that available in Langkawi Island are “Pulau Kasut”, “Gua Buaya” and “Gorilla Island”, We chose to go swimming at Private Island. On evening, we went to “Dayang Bunting Island” It is the most beautiful island in the Langkawi Island.

On third day, my brother already went for a shopping and bought the things that he wanted to give to his fellow friends. At Langkawi Island, the prices of the chocolate, clothes and souvenirs were much cheaper. I just bought some chocolate boxes for me and my friends. There were so many brands of chocolate that we could buy there.
