Here is a definition of a news article - was your definition similar?
A news article discusses current or recent news of either generalinterest (i.e. daily newspapers) or of a specific topic (i.e. political ortrade news magazines, club newsletters, or technology newswebsites). A news article can include accounts of eyewitnesses tothe happening event.
