The Sundarban is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. It was declared a world heritage site in 1974 and a national park in 1984.

Location of Sundarban

The Sundarban forest lies in the vast delta on the Bay of Bengal formed by the super influence of the Padma,Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers across Saiyan southern Bangladesh.

The four main seasons Of Sundarbans:1) Pre monsoon (march- may)2) Monsoon (june-september)3) Post monsoon (October –november) 4) The dry winter season (december – February).

Climate

Large and small tidal waterways providing opportunities for cruising and boating. Among the huge number of rivers Baleswar,Sela,Passur,Shibsa, Malancha, Raimongal, and kobadak are very important for the forest’s ecology.

River

Wildlife Best attraction of sundarbans is The royal Bengal tiger.

It has spotted deer, wild-boar, monkey, lizard, otter, gigantic dolphin, saltwater crocodiles, foxes, jungle cats, macaques, king cobra and Bengal cobra etc.

Economy

About over 4 million people of the impact zone of the forests either directly or

indirectly are dependent on forest products. Woodcutters, honey collectors, fisherman and mollusk shell collectors survive their life

in this way.

Maintenance and Saving

Following steps should be taken to save Sundarban:Forest acts should be strictly followed.People should not cause any harm to the restricted areas.People should be made aware of the importance of the resources of the Sundarbans.The government should take proper steps to save the forest.

Sundarban is one of the ideal tourist destination, the place has several tourist attraction. Interested

and tourism loving people can visit sundarbans whenever they want with their cheap savings. It will take 8000-16000 tk for having a tour to sundarbans.
