History1974 Four decades ago, SKM commenced production of air conditioning equipment at industrial area 1 Sharjah. At the outset, SKM sourced collaboration and technical

agreements with manufacturers around the world.

1984 Continuing to comply with international product design standards, in 1984 SKM completed an ambitious production facility expansion program and entered into a licensing and technical agreement to manufacture standard packaged and ducted split

endeavoul air conditioning units.

1994 In SKM’s endeavour to provide its customers with the latest and updated technology, in 1994, SKM entered a Technology Transfer Agreement to produce swim

pool products with unique applications for the Gulf area.

1995 In 1995, SKM received ISO 9001 certification certifying that quality management systems are being implemented in the company.

2002 Continuing with expansion plans, SKM shifted its production facility from Industrial Area 1 to Industrial Area 13 Sharjah; it is a modern state of the art 43,000 m2 factory, making it one of the largest air-conditioned facilities of its kind in the entire Gulf region. It is equipped with the latest technology and most advanced machinery to

produce air conditioning equipment that best serves the market needs.

In the same year, SKM also established another HVAC factory in the 2nd industrial City in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It is dedicated to the production of ducted splits units, fan coil

units and other air conditioning equipment.

2005 To enter more markets, SKM received Eurovent Certification for its Modular Air Handling Units.

2010 Complying with international quality standards, SKM received ISO 14001 Certification certifying that it’s complying with environmental management standards

set by ISO.

In the same year, SKM also received TÜV certification for its unitary Packaged Air Conditioners series.

2011 In May 2011, SKM received Sharjah Economic Excellence Award Gold Category, being recognised for its quality products and higher standards.

During the same year, SKM also became the recipient of OHSAS 18001 Certification certifying that it is conforming to occupational health and safety.

2014 In the year of 2014, SKM received TÜV certification for its Hygienic Air Handling Units which has special application in hospitals, laboratories and where the absolute

clean air is required.

SKM also received AHRI Certification for its Air Cooled Screw Chillers.

Located in Industrial Area 13, SKM operates out of a modern state of the art 43,000 square meters factory, making it one of the largest air-conditioned facilities of its kind in the entire Gulf region. It is equipped with the latest technology and most advanced machinery to produce air conditioning equipment that best serves the market needs.

SKM SAUDI MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Continuing with its expansion program to cater every corner of the region, SKM established another HVAC factory as a scaled down version of Sharjah facility in the 2nd industrial City in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in the year of 2002.

SKM Laboratory is primarily dedicated to Research and Development of SKM product line to further strengthen its quality farther and to contribute to solving Heating, Ventilating, and Air-conditioning industry issues. It also offers a comprehensive range of performance tests for SKM customers, other air-conditioning equipment manufacturers and any other interested parties.

SKM Laboratory testing procedures are based on AMCA, ASHRAE and AHRI standards which cover operating performance, cooling and heating capacity, energy consumption, air flow rate, and the likes whichever is applicable. Furthermore, we at SKM lab follow TUV Certified testing methods.

SKM testing laboratory is run by qualified engineers and technicians to ensure quality test output.

SKM laboratory set-up has been designed and built in accordance with:

• ASHRAE 30 - “Methods of Testing Liquid Chilling packages”• ASHRAE 37 -”Method of Testing for Rating Electrically Driven Unitary Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment”

• ASHRAE 41.1 –“Standard Method for Temperature Measurement”• ASHRAE 41.2 –“Standard Method for Laboratory Airflow Measurement”• ASHRAE 41.3 –“Standard Method for Pressure Measurement”• ASHRAE 41.6 – “Standard Method for Measurement of Moist Air Properties”• ASHRAE 51 – “Laboratory Methods for Testing Fans for Aerodynamic Performance Rating”• ASHRAE 79 – “Method of Testing for Rating Fan-Coil Conditioners”

The facility is made up of an indoor, outdoor and computers aided control room. Computers aided control room allows simulation and flexibility to control different variables for a certain test procedure for a specific unit. Indoor side contains psychrometric loop wherein reconditioning equipment and airflow measuring apparatus are integrated. The outdoor side temperature is being controlled based on the required ambient temperature for the test unit.
