San Antonio Capriccio
Transcript of San Antonio Capriccio
Architecture as ‘Ars
Combinatoria’ The workshop was organized by the Young Professionals of the Institute of Classical Architecture, UTSA, and San Antonio College and run by Lucien Steil from the University of Notre Dame.
The participants were asked to sketch at three different scales on a San Antonio Riverwalk Sketching Tour:
1) The City Skyline/ How the City meets the Sky…
2) Building in Context/ How Buildings compose with other Buildings and the Space in between…
3) Architectural Details of Form and Texture/ How Buildings both integrate and express visual complexity, life, feeling, poetry and material intensity…
The three scales were then assembled in a single composition: the ‘Capriccio’
