1. Introduction
At the time of completing our BUS 201 course, we have found a
great opportunity to make report on such type of problem which
is related to communication. We are very much pleased to Md.
Mustafizur Rahman for giving us such types of practical task.
As the problem sufferers are our friends or classmates, we are
very much enthused to do such type of job including experiment
with them.
1.1 Background Information
IUBAT is an international university. The medium of
communication is English here. The University also follows the
curriculums which are similar to that of North American
universities. As a result, students have to take part in
presentation, assignment and some others tasks regularly.
Besides, in university level student learns about the whole
world. This means, the whole world is their syllabus.
Let’s think about the internet which is the most auspicious source that provides information about the whole world. IUBAT provides computer lab facility and open internet for all the students.
1.2 Problems studied
As assignment, presentation and such kind of tasks are very
much related to internet and they have the access to internet,
it is expected that university students are skilled enough to
gather and assemble information from internet. Additionally,
1
they have the knowledge to search exactly what they require
(searching with Google/yahoo). But, unfortunately most of the
students of IUBAT do not have efficiency on gathering and
assembling information from internet and few do not have
enough idea about these even about how to Google.
Picture 1(see in the appendix)
This picture is collected from a presentation slide made by
few IUBAT students. Here the tex in the diagram are vague.
Because, they could not manage the proper picture.
Picture 2(see in the appendix)
Here the given diagram they used is irrelevant to the context.
1.3 Classification of problem
If you want to find the root of these problems, knowing the
category of these problems may help you. Internet is
considered not only a technology but also a part and parcel of
modern communication (mailing, chatting and sharing).
Consequently, skill of using internet is a communication skill
and deficiency or barriers in using internet equals to
communication gap. So, internet is all about a sector of
communication and that type of problem is communication
problem.
1.4 Specification of the problem
2
Now, the question is why the common students of IUBAT are not
capable of doing good communication in internet and how the
situation can be overcome. That’s what we will to answer in
this entire report.
1.5 Objectives of the Report
The first objective of the report to figure out what are the
real reasons what causes the deficiency in internet
communication of the common students of IUABT. The final
objective is to find some logical solution through systematic
reporting method to improve the situation. We strongly
believe, the majority of the problem will be solved, if our
suggestion is applied.
2. Review of the Report
3
At the time of completing our BUS 201 course, we have found a
great opportunity to make report on such type of problem which
is related to communication. This report is a perquisite task
of the course. The report is made only for academic purpose
not for business purpose. As far as we know, the topic of this
report is unique. No other group has done their report on
this phenomenon.
2.1 Experts’ view in the respective field
This study investigated the attitude of private university
students in Bangladesh towards internet. Results from the
study indicated that students had positive attitudes toward
using the Internet as a learning tool, adequate basic
knowledge of the Internet, viewed Internet is a fastest way to
reach knowledge, and Internet has a potential to be an
effective training tool. The results also revealed that the
students exhibited positive attitudes toward the Internet
irrespective of gender, again in contradiction to most other
findings. Possible reasons and the implications of these
findings will be elaborated and discussed.

For Bangladesh, the priority should be to facilitate Internet
access to academic institutions and to the intellectual
communities. Also, private users should be more encouraged to
create their own access to online Internet. Having an Internet
account is the primary thing, but not all. The main issue is
to use the Internet for productive purposes and for real
benefits. But there are many barriers to the increase in the
use of the computer and the Internet. Service charges by the
providers are still not low enough to create greater
incentives for users. Government policies are not yet fully
conducive to rapid increase in Internet use as the
telecommunication system, along with supporting
infrastructures, remains undeveloped. Last but not the least,
the potential clients are handicapped by their low purchasing
power. All of these problems will have to be addressed to make
Internet use popular and widespread.
Source-“The Ten Biggest Mistakes of E-Mail Records
Management,” January 25, 2010, http://bangladesh-ict-
news.bauani.org/2010/01/improving-internet-access-in-
bangladesh.html
A more congenial and rational government policy may improve
the whole scenario tremendously. A democratically elected
government should not be governed by sacrificing the future of
its people for immediate benefits. There is no reason for the
BTTB to impose high costs on private VSAT use. The current
charge of US $8,625 per provider per month can easily be
reduced to at least US $1,000. This will encourage more5
providers and will ensure healthy competition between them,
ultimately reducing the online charge and improving service
quality. Rapid privatization of the telecommunication sector
may remarkably enhance the speed of renovations through open-
market competition. A national unity between the ruling party
and the opposition is essential on this vital issue in order
to resist workers' unrest. Unless more competitors, more
investments, and more innovations are encouraged in the field,
only government effort will bring proportionate value for
money in this sector. National newspapers may play a key role
in creating such unity. Buying power of potential clients will
not immediately increase, but government may introduce
lucrative consumer loan policies and may reduce taxes on
computers and accessories to enable people to have their own
PCs.

2.2 Criticism in the context of IUBAT and the present
situation
In these reviews experts convicted the high price of internet
utility and the unavailability of the technology as the roots
of such type of problem. But in case of IUBAT there are not
applicable. Because, internet is very much available and fair
priced now.

2.3 Theoretical framework
The framework of the research with variables is given below.
Independent variable:
1. Sample students2. Training class3. Test’s result before training class
Dependent variable:
1. Test’s result after training class2. T-test 3. Declaring solution hypothesis

2.4 Hypothesis Formulation
From our data analysis we have predicted that the ignorance of
efficient internet utilization is the ultimate reason for the
problem. We assume that, if IUBAT includes the study of proper
internet utilization in their education curriculum, the
problem will be solved. Based on this solution, we form two
hypotheses. The hypothesis, Ho= “Including the course on the
study of utilizing internet efficiently will not solve
problem”. The other hypothesis, H=“Including the course on the
study of utilizing internet efficiently will solve problem”.
2.5 Structure interviews
We arranged Structure interviews. We made a questionnaire with
some multiple choice question and close-end questions to
collect data. An example of the questions is given below-
What is internet from your view point?
A. It’s the access to the virtual world
B. It’s a source of knowledge
C. Nothing
8
3. Research Design
We have tried our best to design our research in the simplest
way. The various characteristics of the design of the research
are mentioned and explained below.
3.1 Type and nature of study
We have used both the types of the types of qualitative and
quantitative question in the questionnaire.
An example of qualitative questions is given below-
9
Do you have access to internet in your home?
o Yes
o No
An example of quantitative questions is given below-
When did you open your mail address for the last
time?
A. Within this day
B. Within this week
C. Within this month
D. Before more than a month
3.2 Sample design
First we select summarize a list of twenty students from
different departments of IUBAT. We focused on the engineering
student who are not so good in net-surfing and do not have
enough idea about internet-features. Finally, we selected 160
students randomly as our sample for the research.
3.3 Data collection method
For the purpose of this report we have collect both of primary
and secondary data. We collected primary data from our sample
students through questionnaire. We collected secondary data
from websites when it was necessary.
3.4 Data analysis techniques use
10
We have used Microsoft Excel program for our data analysis.
Besides, we have used T-test (see in appendix), which is a
statistical method to justify the effectiveness of any event
on a sample group. By this strategy we could ensure the
validity of our suggested solution.
11
4. Outcome of the Report
We are really happy that, finally we have found the outcome of
the report. Through t-test we proved that H=“Including the
course on the study of utilizing internet efficiently will
solve problem” is true. Below, we will explain the discussion
of the solution with data, conclusion, our limitation and the
suggestion for the future reporter.
4.1 Discussion with data interpretation
We have taken 160 sample students for the second solutionjustification. Altogether we arranged 4 classes. The rate ofstudents being present is 87%. Their final test was also verymuch satisfactory.
4.2 Conclusion
Definitely, it is a great opportunity for us to a academic
task which is very much related to real professional job. It
must be informed that we very much glad to the students who
took part in the cooperation in making this report, especially
who worked as sample students. We are also so pleased to
honorable faculty Md. Mustafizur Rahman for giving us this
precious instructions what made this report more efficient.
We truly believe we have learnt many things through this
project what is a power asset in our future life.
12
4.3 Limitation
After all of our enthusiasm and efforts such things happen
which are really unexpected. At the time of completing this
report, there was a political instability in the country. For
that reason we could not manage as much as classes on internet
communication for our sample students as we wanted. So, the
political instability slightly affected our research.
4.4 Suggestion for the future reporter
We hope if we could manage more sample students that would
more strengthen our suggested solution. So, reporters should
care about this matter.
