5-day Trap Line Adventure
Trent Packham of Groat Creek Outfitters is offering an exciting 5 day trapline
adventure in Whitecourt, Alberta Canada, for one person. Once you get settled into
the lodge we will get right to work checking the trapline. Different areas of the
trapline are checked daily from mid November to late March. You will have an
opportunity to trap a variety of different furbearers including: Wolves, Marten,
Fisher, Lynx, Beaver, Muskrats, Otter, Fox, Coyote, Weasels and Squirrels. We will
build and prepare our own snares and learn a variety of trapping methods for
different species, as well as learn how to choose and lay out bait sites and snare
locations for wolf and coyote. We will be processing a variety of different animals
(depending on what we catch) from skinning and fleshing to boarding and finishing.
We usually take one day and call for coyotes as well. If the opportunity arises to call
or shoot a wolf there is a trophy fee on wolves ($1250 usd).There may also be a
chance to tree a cougar if fresh tracks are cut while trapping.
Season dates are from Nov 1 to March 31st Successful bidder must buy wolf/coyote license approx. $100 cad The arrival and departure point for this hunt is Whitecourt, Alberta, . Canadian High Artic Adventures
Musk Ox Hunt for 1 Hunter
This Musk Ox hunt will be conducted on the main-land and two remote islands in the Northwest Territories. The hunt is 6-days with near 100% success on mature bulls. Inuit guides will take the successful high bidder by snowmobile and Qamutik sleds out on the land for an epic hunting experience! The camps are basic heated wood cabins and the spike camps are insulated heated wall tents. The hunts are 1 on 1 with an Inuit guide and an assistant guide. The hunting will be done by traveling by snowmobile looking for small groups of Musk Ox. Once the herd is located, the final stalk is done on foot. This outfitter’s clients have taken several record-book bulls each year with both rifle and archery equipment. Spring and Fall hunts dates are available. If a fall hunt is selected, the hunt will be scheduled on available dates August/September 2020. (Fall hunt is ideal for the hunter who does not want the extreme cold weather. Travel on Fall hunts are by ATV). If a spring hunt is selected, the hunt will be scheduled February/March/April 2021. (See outfitter for open dates). Wolf may be added to this hunt for ($1,500) or grizzly bear for ($15,500). On both Spring and Fall hunts a second Musk Ox can be harvested - tags must be arranged prior to the hunt. Additional hunters are welcome ($8950 each) as are non-hunters ($3500 each.) The hunt arrival point is Inuvik, NWT then a flight is required to the community where the hunt will take place (this is the responsibility of the hunter and is not included in hunt price). Hunter may choose rifle, bow or muzzleloader. Hunter is responsible for the cost of a license, tag, tips, NWT Government Trophy fee and 5% GST. Hotel accommodations may be required both before and after the hunt (Inuvik Mackenzie Hotel – approximately $200 Canadian per night.) Canadian firearm permits are required and are available online.

Hunter will arrive in North Central Idaho for the 5-day hunt. Lewiston is the

This is in an area that over the years has produced exceptional bulls, several 70” plus
bulls have been harvested along with many bulls in the mid 60’s that are heavy
racked and may palm points. We rely on our guides ability to call in these bulls during
the pre-rut time which is the best chance to harvest a huge bull before he starts
breeding cows. Hunt to be taken 9/5-9/15 of 2022.
Accommodations are cabins with beds, wood stoves, generators, etc. All meals are
prepared by guide which consist of chicken, pork chops, steaks, real food, all camps
have shower stations. Flat bottom jet boats are used to access calling spots and
