It was a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the North East Food Show 2019 to show case talent expansion of local business. This was the biggest and the first time an event gave importance to the entire North East food cuisine and local food.
We all at Purchasing Professionals Forum-India (PPFI) wanted to thank the North East Food Show for the excellent management of what has turned out to be a successful and highly stimulating Food show. It was a wonderful experience and knowledge enhancement for PPFI members from B2B event which was attended by most of the exhibitors.
From the view of all PPFI members, North East area has lots of potential to provide quality products to the industry and we met lots of potential suppliers for this. We look forward to suppliers of Sticky Rice, Kiwi, Honey, Pineapple, Tea, Banana and Shitake Mushroom who can supply to five-star hotels quality products consistently.
The North East Food Show provided us with the right platform to interact and get into talks with companies from Bangladesh as well as Pran Exports Ltd for supplying our products.
We are very confident that through the SIAL Network today in the Food Sector, everyone will know where the North-East is and with the launch of the first Culinary association of North East at the North East Food Show 2019, we hope and expect that the Northeast Food Show will be extremely bigger and better in times to come.

The North East Food Show is a great platform for promoting North Eastern Trade and the products that we have especially the ones that most of the world is unaware of.
Entrepreneurship in Meghalaya as a whole has been pushed a lot in the last five years with the support of the government. I give huge credit to Bah Sohliya of MIE for pushing entrepreneurship and getting it to where it is today and Conrad Sangma, our Honourable Chief Minister who has always supported entrepreneurs. I’m sure we will go a lot forward and Meghalaya will be a role model state for other states of the NE and also the country as a whole
We are setting up a joint venture with the Hills Farmers Union for selling Shitake Mushroom being grown in Shillong with the support of the Meghalaya Government.
My expectations were blown away and I did not expect such a huge event. It enabled us as entrepreneurs to connect with potential buyers especially prospective buyers from international countries.
It’s beyond my expectations that some big companies from abroad and from metropolitan cities attended the event and we got to meet and interact with them.
It was a brilliant experience for the Team and we got to learn about the indigenous ingredients and products that are grown here organically and can be a good resource in hotels across the country
We believe that our partnership with Northeast Food Show will definitely open up a lot of avenues for Trade with Northeast and India and the international Market.
