PAK-TYER APPLICATIONS
Laundry Industrial laundries, hotel/motel laundries, hospital laundries, government institution laundries, towel/uniform suppliers and similar. Our larger machines are popular for tying and bundling all forms of laundry and goods requiring frequent cleaning.
Agriculture Florists, nurseries, vegetable growers, fruit growers, distribution centers, etc. The tension adjustment on our machine can be set very light so that delicate flower stems and fruits and vegetables can be tied securely without damage. Larger models are good for tying vegetable sets and plants. Special modified table for agriculture applications.
Printing Commercial printers, in-house printers, mailing centers, quick printers, binderies, etc. Almost everyone who does reasonable amounts of printing has or needs a Felins Pak-Tyer.
Publishing Newspapers, magazines, newsletters, etc. The publishing business has always been a big user of Felins Pak-Tyers. Whether bundling newspapers or magazines for shipment to distribution centers or tying individual papers so thick it’s necessary to bundle to keep them together, Pak-Tyers are a favorite.

DIRECT DRIVE TYING MACHINES
Only From
Felins, Inc., the first name in imaginative solutions to any tying problem, introduces a
new concept in tying machines — the ―Direct Drive‖ Tyers. We use the term ―direct
drive‖ to describe a unique system which incorporates the motor into the drive shaft,
thereby replacing the conventional belt-driven gear reduction system. The direct drive
tyer has a totally sealed gearbox and motor, making it impervious to dirt and
contamination and resistant to water.
The direct drive tyer contains a specially designed circuit board featuring a custom
programmable micro processor and state of the art electronics. This special circuit
board offers the advantage of the motor running only while it cycles with no loss of
tying speed.
What this means to the end-user is reduced maintenance costs. Conventional tying
machines have heat build-up due to the drive motor always running. This heat build-
up eventually causes pinion gear wear, belt wear, bearing wear, clutching failure,
motor burn-out and slip clutch wear. You probably know these are typical wear points
on conventional tyers. But the direct drive system uses electronics to drive the motor
rather than a mechanical drive. This new circuitry also allows installation of the tyer in
a variety of in-line applications — you can install the tyer upside down or at a right
angle if that’s what will fit best in the existing production system. All of this is possible
because the motor is not dependent on standard mechanical moving parts which can
be affected by gravity.
Complementing this revolutionary design is a new appearance to the tyer. All moving
parts are enclosed in an attractive cabinet, which features a built-in twine holder. The
Felins exclusive Break-Away Delivery Arm is standard equipment on the Direct Drive
Tyer. And of course, The Direct Drive Pak-Tyers model will accept any kind of string,
twine, polytape, twisted co-poly or elastic and elastomer twine.

INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY
The PakTyer 2000™ offers increased productivity over the conventional method of hand tying by processing up to 50 single ties or 25 cross ties per minute. Tying up to 3,000 bundles per hour!
The built-in string holder and easy thread delivery arm
allows for the quick replacement of tying materials.
The tying station accommodates 6 to 24 ply cotton
twine and a wide variety of synthetic materials
including elastomer, twisted poly, and polytape.
TYING STATION
The PakTyer 2000™ series tying station is designed to improve productivity by
reducing the cycle time of the tying process. By utilizing a state-of-the-art direct drive
system, typical wear points are eliminated; gear box and motor are sealed making it
resistant to dirt and contamination. Felins tying stations are known for their durability,
long term performance and minimal maintenance requirements. The PakTyer 2000™
series allows users to tie a wide variety of products by offering six different model
sizes.
EASY TO OPERATE
Operating the tying station is as simple as passing the bundle across the table top and activating the foot trip to complete the tying cycle. The tying material is then automatically sized to the outside diameter of the bundle, is cut and tied. Tension is adjustable allowing the user to easily change the tension to meet their specific product need.
The 2000 series offers users a variety of activation methods to initiate the tying
process including foot trip, ultra light or heavy duty automatic trip. Additional options
include the Vacuum Tail Removal system (VTR) and an obstruction sensor for added
safety.

REDUCE LABOR With a single stroke the PakTyer 2000™ Tandem
Tyer will place two individual ties of polytape, twine
or elastomer around your product bundle. No longer
will you have to feed the product twice to make two
ties. The Tandem Tyer is ideal for tying laundry,
blankets, comforters, rugs, large garment pieces,
belts, industrial goods and other oversized items.
REDUCE COSTS Felins tying materials are designed to provide
maximum efficiency in the tying process to further
reduce the total cost. We stock a variety of tying

TANDEM TYING STATION Double your efficiency with the PakTyer 2000™ Tandem Tyer. This specially
designed machine features dual tying arms that will help users process products in
less time by making two ties simultaneously. All the features and benefits you have
come to know and expect with the Felins tying machines are built in; direct drive,

maintenance. The Tandem Tyer is offered in five different sizes and will accommodate

PakTyer 2000™ Option
Felins offers the latest in added machine safety with the electronic photo obstruction
sensors. These sensors are integrated into the direct drive and have a four inch field
of vision. They are located directly under the table at the leading edge of the delivery
arm entry slot.
The obstruction sensors are designed to prevent the operation of the machine if an
object is blocking the sensors field of vision. The delivery arm will not activate if the
sensors are blocked. In addition, the sensors will instantly stop the delivery arm if an
object covers or blocks the sensors during the cycle.
These sensors combined with the Felins exclusive Breakaway Arm provides your
operators with additional safety in the workplace.

Rotary PakTyer 2000™
Felins PakTyer 2000™ Rotary Tyer is designed for quick and automatic tying for a
wide range of bundling applications. The open frame design allows the operator to
directly place the bundle onto the table of the tyer and initiate the tying process with a
foot trip activation. The rotating arm then passes around the product twice to securely
tie the bundle. This style of machine can also be set up to cross tie, single tie or triple
tie. Felins offers the Rotary PakTyer 2000™ in five different sizes with bundle
processing speeds that range from 36 – 44 (2 wrap cycles) per minute. Tying
materials include polytape and twine.

FELINS HAS THE SOLUTION to your circular bundling problems. With our new
specially designed 2000 Series Coil Tyer, Felins can help you tie up almost any size
coil quickly and easily. Even products like garden hoses, V-Belts, surgical tubing,
and coils of rope are a snap for the Felins Coil Tyer 2000.
SPECIAL FEATURES. With our unique
table design and flow through system,
Felins can bundle coils of any product
having a minimum inside circle
diameter of three inches and a
maximum of twenty-four inches. There
is no limitation on the outside
dimensions of any coil because all you
need to do is place the coil in position
and activate.
CLEAN AND SIMPLE. The tying
material is automatically dispensed
around the wall of the coil and tied off
with a knot. This secures the bundle
from shifting or unwinding. A second tie
is then placed around the opposite wall
of the coil to give you a firmly bundled
coil. The entire process is completed in
seconds without using messy tapes or
expensive twist ties.

TAG-Tyer
Felins TAG-Tyer semi-automatically produces
hanging tags or textile loops and offers the ability
to process a variety of elastic materials.
This compact tabletop model allows operators to
process various tag sizes and create multiple
loop sizes. The ease of adjustment and
operation enables users to handle small orders
quickly and cost effectively.
Perforated hanging tags are pulled across the
knotting table to a pre-determined length. The

TURBO 2000
A compact unit that allows laundry facilities to move from stand alone equipment to an
automated system. The Turbo 2000 incorporates the Felins 2000 Series tyer to convey, tie
and discharge bundles automatically. This system can be placed directly at the end of the
ALTS300/420 The ALTS300/420 is a tying station that is able to automatically orient, tie, center and transfer
bundles; offering users improved bundle throughput and labor savings. The standard unit is
available in two sizes. Custom sizes are available to meet specific user requirements.
Traffic Control Master (TCM) System
The Traffic Control Master (TCM) System is designed to allow continuous workflow from any
type of discharge and stacker. Bundles are automatically merged from the discharge or
stacker unit onto a main line conveyor while maintaining appropriate bundle spacing,
orientation and stability. The TCM System allows laundries to maximize their labor efficiency
by reducing the labor associated with the handling of flat wear and dry fold products.
Transfer Systems
Felins offers multiple Transfer Systems that are designed to received stacked bundles and
position them for transfer at a 90º right angle. Bundles are centered and consistently
presented to an automated bundling station without handling. The Felins transfer systems
include the Corner Line Pusher, the Bundle Identification System and the Bi-Directional Unit.
Corner Line Pusher – is used at the end of a main conveyor prior to the tying process
Bundle Identification System – identifies bundles of a specific size for tying while

Flex Strap™
Wrap Cycles
Preprogrammed number of wraps per cycle are selected with the wrap selector switch on the control panel. Automatic settings range from 2 through 6. The infinite setting (+) allows for continuous wrapping until foot switch is released (a minimum of 2 wraps must occur to complete the infinite cycle). XL model has a 3 wrap minimum setting.
Method of Operation
The stretch film is held by front and rear grippers below the bed of the machine. Product to be wrapped or banded is placed in position. The foot switch is depressed. When the required number of selected wraps has been made, the stretch film is automatically cut, and sealed, ready for the next product.
The number of wraps (2 to 6) may be pre-selected with the rotary selector switch mounted on the control panel. An infinite number of wraps may be obtained by setting the selector switch to infinity (∞) and keeping the foot switch depressed until desired number of wraps are achieved. When the foot switch is released, the last wrap is completed and the stretch film is cut, and sealed.

Elastic Banding
The specific properties of elastic make it very suitable for bundling a wide variety of products.
Rubber bands have a closed shape so that welding or
tying the ends together is not necessary.
Rubber bands don’t distort the product and leaves no
marks.
Rubber bands are flexible: a few products can be
removed from a bundle without compromising bundle integrity.
Rubber bands are multi-purpose: large and small
products can be bundled using one size rubber band.
Large roll lengths and ease of use guarantee a continuous
banding process in which every elastic band is used,

Digital Controls
The ATS US-2000 Digital Control
features an electronic interface and
advanced circuitry that improve the
outstanding speed, reliability and durability
that have made the US-2000 the preferred
choice for industrial banders and
automated banding systems.
The US-2000 AD retains the familiar
operator friendly controls while adding
features that will be appreciated by
operators and maintenance personnel. The
unique ultra-sonic weld technology at the
heart of the Ultra Sonic 2000 machines
requires no warm-up time, no maintenance
and is more consistent than any heat seal
weld. The strength of the weld is
adjustable from security-strength which
requires plastic bands to be cut for
removal, to a light weld that can be easily
released.

US-2000 AB with Printer
All of the US-2000 AB systems are available with a Thermal Transfer Printer. This
system allows you to print product information like the date, the lot number or a bar
code on the band. The programmable printer can provide serial, item-specific coding
with each band. When printing materials for products of the same size, the orientation
of the print will be consistent. The thermal printer can print on all types of US-2000
materials.

US-2000 CL
This simple system will process product stacks or can unitize products from the
production line. A pneumatic pusher slides unbanded product into the bander. The
system discharged the banded bundle onto an exit conveyor or table. Printed bands
can be used for product identification and marketing.

The US-2000 Transit Line bands a great variety of products. The system is placed in-
line to provide hands-free processing of product bundles. Using infeed and exit
conveyors, products can be rapidly banded. Material positioning plates, pneumatic
presses, and corner conveyors for cross-banding are options available to improve
versatility. For quick roll changes, the US-2000 Transit comes with pullout dispenser
with rapid thread tape system and auto-thread on the tape infeed. A touch screen
operator interface provides user friendly machine setup.

The US-2000 FSB can also
be equipped with multiple
feeders. With the Triple-FSB,

US-2000 LBMMS The US-2000 LBMMS for
multiple stacks allows entire
layers to be inserted. Using
touch screen controls, the
operator selects the number
of stacks and bands per
stack. Centering, separating,
and feeding of each stack is
done automatically with this
system. The LBMMS uses
two fences to separate and
band each stack with single
or multiple bands.

single push fence to
automatically band a row of
product. The operator
selects the number of
stacks and bands per stack.
The stacks are
automatically inserted into
the bander and neatly
banded with single or

US-2000 SCB
The US-2000 Stacking, Collating and Banding systems will accumulate from a single
stream infeed. Stack counts are selected by the system operator. Orientations of 2 x 3,
3 x 3, 1 x 6 are common. The band eliminates the need for inner cartons. Product
specials and multi-packs are processed at packaging line speed while minimizing labor
requirements. Printed banding material can be used for product identification and
multi-pack coding.

US-2000 ASX
The fully automatic Transit ASX is specifically designed for banding high-gloss color
graphic corrugated materials. A large product opening and long rolls of material make
this machine ideal for corrugated applications. The special FWG 210-30-1300
banding material will not damage the edges of the top and bottom of the stack, yet will
tightly hold the bundle for transport. This system is used in-line as part of the
packaging procedure to hold counts and to prevent scuffing.

format bander, which is specially
designed for band widths of 75mm
and 100mm, respectively.
The Ultra-Sonic cold-weld

no heating element, allowing for
immediate use and eliminating film
residue buildup.
