PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

ENROLMENT

ACADEMICS

As on date (14 May, 2020), the borne strength of the school is 2677 students.

Final Examination

The evaluation of final round of weekly test for Primary School classes I-IVconcluded on 18 Feb, 2020

The final examination for Classes IX & XI concluded on 03 Mar, 2020 andfor Classes V – VIII on 11 Mar, 2020

PTM

The PTM for the Session 2019-20 for Classes IX & XI was conducted on 12 Mar, 2020 . PTMfor Classes I to IV and VI to VIII was scheduled for 21 and 24 Mar, 2020 respectively butcould not be held due to the lockdown orders. The report cards for the students of theseclasses were mailed to the parents.

Improvement Examination (2019-20)

In view of the lockdown, the Improvement Exams for Classes V to IX andXI were conducted in online mode from 8- 12 April’20 and the result wasdeclared on 14 April, 2020.

Deconstructing Technology for online teaching

During these unprecedented times,the school teachers have been trainedand made to learn new technologiesfor online education delivery. WithG-suite platform for teaching, thestaff has been able to createopportunities for learning andstreamline various tasks for studentsand teachers and are using varioustools to provide impactful lessons.

New softwares implemented by the teachers

In order to handle the online classes efficiently, the following inhouse training sessions werearranged for the teachers by the IT department of the school.

Google Classrooms & Google Meet: Study materials are created and uploaded by the

teachers on google classroom on a regular basis and online teaching is being taken through

the google meet platform.

Crisp: Primary teachers have started undergoing training to create study

material on the CRISP app. As on date, 01 training session has been imparted

to the Pr. School teachers.

Jamboard : The entire teaching staff is now equipped to handle Jam Board.

Google Form : Staff is well trained to check the learning outcomes of

students through Google Forms

Teaching Learning Material

The material developed by the staff for Teaching-Learning process during online classes is beingstored as a repository and the link is made available to parents and students, if required through theschool website.

Online Time Table is being strictly adhered to.

Monthly Assignments

With a view to recapitulate the lessons taught, assignments were given to all students of

Classes I to XII through Google class rooms for the month of April, 2020. The Holiday HW

for the Summer Vacation is in the process of being uploaded on School website.

BRICSMATH

BRICSMATH.COM is an online testing agency that

conducts online mathematics competition for the

students of Classes I - XII across BRICS Countries

every year. This year the competition process began

from 22nd April. All the students of class I – XII

have been enrolled for the competition and their id and

passwords have been generated by the school and

handed over to them. The students are actively

participating in the ongoing preparatory round from

22nd April – 22nd May,2020.

Centre for Scholastic Integration. Special efforts are being taken tointegrate the students enrolled with learning disability.

The school has developed a home based intenvention plan for children withdisabilities/children with special needs during the lockdown period. The planhas been developed in a practical manner and the Special Educators aredelivering the classes with the help of some useful websites to accessacademic resources.

The Special Educators ensure that the children have daily one module whichincludes physical activity, one cognitive activity and one activity whichsupports their mental well being.

EMOTIONAL WELLBEING OF STUDENTS

1. The School Counselor and the Special Educators have been directed to share DCPCR’s helpline

(01141182977) which is meant for dealing, providing and assistance in dealing with stress and anxiety

issues which the children and their parents may have been experiencing in the wake of pandemic.

2. A support group of the parents and care givers of children with special needs has been created by the

school using online platforms like whatsapp.

CBSE EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION

The school was a centre for AISSE & AISSCE Examination, under which 891regular school students of Classes X & XII appeared w.e.f. 15 Feb, 2020 to 18March, 2020

The evaluation of Answer Scripts of Class XII in subjects, i.e. English (XII),Chemistry (XII), Economics (XII), and Science (X), Social Science (X) andMaths (X) with School Principal as the Chief Nodal Supervisor was to be heldin School premises. The evaluation work in subjects English (XII) and Science(X) started in the month of March, 2020 but remained suspended due to theongoing lockdown period.

The new interim orders for evaluation work have been received by the schooldated 11 May, 2020 from CBSE to start the pending evaluation work w.e.f. 12May, 2020.04 PGTs and 02 TGTs have been appointed as Head Examiners.

To ensure that our little one’sretain interest in Rubik Cubeduring this unforeseen break,they are being encouraged tomake their personal video withthe timer showcasing theirprowess to attempt cube andshare with the respective Mathsteachers.

AERO-MODELLING CLUBThe Middle School students designed Rubber Powered Planes, Boomerangs,Rockets, Balsa Gliders, Ornithopters and Wireless Hovercrafts in the month ofFebruary & March, 2020. The enrolled students could practice sessions offlying on Gaming Flight Simulators in February, 2020.

ENVIRONMENT CLUBUnder the aegis of CBSE,students of Classes VI-IX areenthusiastically participating inGanga Quest- an online NationalQuiz on river Ganga with an aimto increase the publicparticipation for Namami GangeProgramme to enhanceownership of children and youthfor rivers. The quiz shallconclude on 22 May, 2020

HEALTH & WELLNESS CLUB

During the occasion of World Asthma Day on 05 May 2020, a live webinar on’’ Being Readyto Meet Asthma challenge in school students’’ was organized by Ganga Ram Hospital and thesame was attended by all TGTs. Also, an Asthma manual was released on school website aswell as shared with the parents via broadcast groups. A movie ‘’ Easy being Wheezy ‘’and amessage from the Principal’s desk was shared by the Lung Care Foundation on their socialmedia platform.

Under the aegis of Atal Innovation Mission and Plezmo Tech Academy, 20Students from Classes VIII to XI attended a 5 day free online trainingsession from 4-8 May, 2020. Students submitted and published the Appdetails to Plezmo Academy and have received digital certificates ofappreciation.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences,initiated and funded by the Department of Science andTechnology, Government of India to attract highlymotivated students for pursuing basic science courses andresearch. It is indeed a moment of great pride thatSarwagya Prasad (XII), successfully passed the firststage of selection held on 03 Nov, 2019 as well asthe Interview round which was held on 10 February,2020. He is now a proud recipient of KVPYSchlolarship.

The school has been assigned the responsibility of mentoring a Sister ATLie Shri Gandhi Smarak Inter College, Samodhpur, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh bythe Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog for being one of the bestperforming ATL schools of Uttar Pradesh.

As a Sister ATL, the school is required to mentor the assigned school, shareand initiate best practices of BBPS (ND), encourage participation in ATLactivities and challenges. The goal is that the sister ATL absorbs bestpractices and eventually improves its processes and becomes well versedwith the ATL activities.

To begin with on 11 May, 2020, a google hangout meet was arranged with theSister ATL School and the problems and challenges faced by the schoolwere discussed.

The research paper of Ms. Swati Chawla,PGT (Physics) entitled ‘New methods fordetermination of H (Horizontal componentof earth’s magnetic field) and M (Magneticmoment of magnet) got selected forpresentation at MIT, Pune for thecompetition organized on Science Dayunder the category, teaching learningpractices in Physics.

Ms. Vidhi Oberoi, TGT (Biology)submitted a research paper on‘Assessment in InnovativeTeaching/Learning Contest’ at MIT Puneand it was selected for presentation onNational Science Day.

An International Conference on 21stCentury Education was held at RIE,Bhuvaneswar from 21 to 23 February,2020.Research papers were invited fromteachers all over India and abroad.Ms Anjali Sharma, PGT (Mathematics)paper was selected to be presented as aPoster.

The topic of the paper was ‘Curing Mensuration Mania‘ which dealt theexperimental learning disability towards 2D and 3 D figures in mensuration.The paper was appreciated and well received by the jury members and hasfound recognition in the journal published post conference.

SpecialOccasions

Following days were observed and celebrated in the school. Information wasdisseminated through morning assemblies and display boards. In the lockdownperiod the school continues to strive with its good practices and information isbeing disseminated through videos, talks, posters and through the schoolwebsite.

The Orientation Day Programme for the Pre School Parents (Session 2020-21)was held on 15 February, 2020. Swami Chidrupanand ji from Chinmaya Missionwas the guest speaker, who enlightened the anxious and enthusiastic parentshighlighting the importance of effective parenting. The parents interacted withthe class teachers of their wards who briefed them about the Pre Primaryschooling at Bal Bharati Public School, Noida.

The 28th Foundation Day of the School was observed on 20 April, 2020.Various online activities were organized by the staff for students.

The Primary School observed the day by presenting a play based on Tagore’sfamous novel ‘The Note Book’. Students from Classes IV & V participated inthe play and recorded the play from their respective homes. The script alongwith the dialogues was shared with the students and the direction was giventhrough GOOGLE MEET by the teacher mentor.The recorded clips shared by the students were then compiled and edited toget the final product. The play received good reviews on all social mediaplatforms.

May, 2020 – 158th Birth Anniversary of Tagore

Online Physical Fitness Classes The school has been holding online Yoga and Dance classes on a regular

basis. The Yoga and Dance teachers conduct live sessions for 30-35 min.on a daily / weekly basis.

It is now a few parents and students want the school to start giving theseclasses through Instagram live.

AdventureCamp

An adventure Day Camp was organised in the school premises on 23 Feb, 2020(Sunday) for the children of Pre-Primary Wing, in collaboration with RockSports Adventure.The camp saw an overwhelming response with an enthusiastic participation of302 children from classes Pre-School and Pre-Primary. The school ground wasabuzz with adventure activities like Commando Net, Zip-Line, Magical Maze,Tunnel Crawl, Burma Bridge, Hippity-Hop, Tug of War, etc. under thesupervision of trained professionals.

Shree M, a noted Philanthropist and Social worker has started a newinitiative “Satsang Sewa Mission” with the motive to feed as many ashungry people as possible, through out the nation during the pandemic andprovide support to the frontline caregivers.

To further support this noble mission, the school has contributed a sum ofRs. 2.50 lakhs for this mammoth mission of Shree M.

The general discipline in the school is satisfactory.

Only one or two regular Safai Karamcharis who have beenpermitted to come out have joined the school to discharge theirrespective duties.

Continuing with our endeavour to continue learning beyond boundaries a virtualinter school exchange programme was held on 18 Feb, 2020 between BBPS,Noida and students of Varazdin Primary School Croatia.

The students on both sides of the national boundaries displayed theirmultifaceted talents. While the Croatian students played their folk music andmost especially mesmerized everyone with ‘Tamboura’ (an indigenous musicalinstrument) and presented an interesting PPT on ‘Pero the Lump’s Gang' a bookby Mato Lovrak, the Students of Bal Bharati Public School Noida ,India responded with the most captivating book review of the book' The BlueUmbrella ' by Ruskin Bond.

Smiles and enthusiasm on both ends was evident enough, that the session wasthoroughly enjoyed and loved by all.

The school library has created a readers group christened ‘CARPE DIEM ‘ usingthe Microsoft platform ‘KAIZALA’. The digital library shares daily newspapers,periodicals, books of varied interest and other important literature usefulfor the overall development of students. It even includes stories andinformation on Online Story Telling Sessions.

The lockdown period has seenmonumental rise in the numbers ofwebinars and chat sessions and we at BalBharati take pride in keeping pace withthe changing times Information aboutOnline Live Storytelling Sessionconducted by renowned personalities likeRini Simon Khanna.

The students were also encouraged to bea part of the online Readers fest (15 to24 Apr, 2020) organized by Lulu Mall,Kochi. Karadi Tales were regularlyshared through social media platforms.The sessions were enjoyed by thementors and mentees alike.

The World Book Day was celebrated on 23 Apr, 2020 through onlinemeans. Students shared their ideas on book reading, poems, drawings ,essaysetc The activities were an expression of the importance of books in our lives.

Security

While there is no clarity on when theschools will re-open, the school has workedon a post-lockdown plan which is involving anumber of social distancing measures.

Also the school is awaiting the Govt.guidelines on post-lockdown plan for schools.

The detailed SOP guidelines with directionsfor our stakeholders, teachers, parents andstudents will be released on school website,a week in advance upon re-opening of theschool.

The U P Govt. has issued orders stating that the schools across the state will not charge transport fee from the parents during lockdown period / till the school

transport resumes.

School Transport

As on date there are 35 fee defaulters, (Quarter-4) ofsession 2019-20. For the session 2020-21, 1800 parents havedeposited the fees for Quarter-1.

The financial health of the school is satisfactory to sustainfor Quarter-1. Salaries of the school staff, (Regular andRetainers) have been disbursed for the month of March andApril, 2020.

The PTA Body of the school interacts on a regular basis andtheir suggestions are received by the school from time to time.

Through PTA Funds, genuine and needy parents who have losttheir jobs during the pandemic are to be considered for givingassistance in payment of pending school dues.

Weekly Faculty Meetings with Class Representatives, HouseWardens, Head of the Departments, Staff Meetings (onmonthly basis) and Coordination Committee Meetings are beingheld on a regular basis. Post lockdown, these meetings areconducted online. The records of all the meetings are minutedin the proper Minutes Register as well as released on theTeacher Portal for reading purposes. The minutes of theabove meetings are also made available on the school website.

Meeting with staff

The teaching staff suddenly isolated from students have had tocome to grips with online teaching quickly.The staff through webinars have learnt the skills of online teachingand have discharged their duties beyond working hours.

Teachers have facilitated schooling from home very effectivelyduring the lockdown period to which we remain indebted forever.
