About NISM

The National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust established in 2006 by the Securities and Exchange Board of India

(SEBI). From spreading awareness of securities markets among common investors to skill development of market professionals, the

institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels. NISM’s six schools of excellence and the National Center

for Financial Education work in synergy towards professionalizing securities markets.

The School for Securities Education (SSE) creates new age securities markets professionals and equips them with expertise to meet the

enhanced expectations through its uniquely positioned academic programmes.

Vision: To lead, catalyze and deliver educational initiatives to professionalize the securities markets.

Greetings from National Institute of Securities Markets !

I welcome you to the internship process of the of the fifth batch of PGDM (SM) students.

Summer internship is an integral part of PGDM (SM) program. Our curriculum provides six credits to summer internship that is equivalent

to two full courses. The three terms of rigorous course work by experienced faculty, comprising of Ph.D. holding academicians and industry

experts, prepare the students very well for the industry internship. Summer internship provides the students with opportunities to apply

what they have learnt, and appreciate what they need to learn in the remaining three terms of the program. For NISM, internship is an

opportunity to present to the industry these bright young minds who are selected through a very competitive process and after a year of

academic course work have blossomed into capable professionals due to the high standards of academic rigour and integrity maintained

at NISM. It also gives us an opportunity to invite you to partner with us in our journey of creating a cadre of securities market professionals.

At NISM, we have been developing the student's talent and capabilities as desired by the markets to make them suitable for various roles

and responsibilities. The institute also places special emphasis on inculcating corporate values and ethical behaviour.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Securities Markets)

PGDM is a two-year full time Post-Graduate Diploma course for students coming from various disciplines interested in pursuing a career in

securities markets. This programme has been freshly launched in 2017 and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

PGDM students are equipped to be complete securities markets professionals. They are positioned to take up a wide range of

responsibilities such as Analysts, Investment Managers, Valuers of Asset Classes, Treasury & Risk Managers, Operational Managers,

Compliance Officers, Financial Planners & Wealth Managers etc. Organizations that will find our students suitable include Analytics firms,

Rating Agencies, Stock-Brokers, Fund Managers, Investment Banks, Registered Valuers, Banks, Financial Advisors etc.

PGDM (SM) is designed to provide a perfect blend of conceptual understanding and exposure to best practices and policies, through

application-centric pedagogies. The institute with its team of dedicated academic and industry experts impart knowledge based on in-

depth research, practice and constant interaction with the policymakers and the industry at the senior levels. As part of the PGDM (SM)

program, the students not only gain insights into securities markets and finance from the extensive curriculum, but also fine-tune and

hone their knowledge and skill sets through simulated trading and investment exercises, and interaction with eminent leaders from the

financial world, under the leadership lecture series of the institute.
