Review: Once again these runners worked hard and reached so many goals! The boys’ team placed 3rd at the Pine Grove Invitational, 15th in the League and 14th in the district. We qualified a full team of boys for Districts and two individuals for States! As icing on the cake (or donut if you are Jordan Berger), they also won the Section 2 Team Sportsmanship Award! The camaraderie, hard work, and dedication of the runners on this team is amazing. When other teams were complaining about the rainy, muddy conditions at almost every meet, these guys and girls always found a way to have fun. We had our share of ups and downs this season; from District and State medals to broken ankles and sore IT bands, everyone on this team kept working to get better. A huge thank you and good luck goes out to all graduating seniors (Jake, Jordan, Brandon, Alex, Dustin, Erin, and Bri). It has been an amazing 3 years. You have been a huge help to everyone on the team and great role models…YOU WILL BE MISSED!

After a rough mid-season week, losing 4 out 5 games, many teams would have caved. These players dug deep and battled their way back into contention earning their spot in the post season. They redeemed themselves against Lancaster Mennonite and Lancaster Catholic in the second half of the season which set us up of our biggest (must win) win of the season, in OT, against Annville. We will miss our 11 SENIORS, both on and off the field. They have been such a big part of our NL Family for the past 6 years. They are an extraordinary group of young women. They are teammates, they are mentors, and they are friends. We have big shoes to fill, and I know just the group of young athletes that are up for the challenge. Go Vikings!! Wreck or be wrecked, Graby!!!

REVIEW: This team was hungry to score and win games. They never tasted defeat and outscored their opponents 44-6. In a couple of games, our opponent scored first, and this team never panicked. They were methodical moving the ball down the field with beautiful passing combinations. This team was excited to earn corners and had success executing our favorite corner plays. There were nine different goal scorers and every forward and midfielder scored in our balanced attack. Our rookie goalie and defense earned five shutouts. This was a fun team to coach and you could see them improving every game. Thank you for a great season! I look forward to your future success!

Review: Overall, after making a great post-season push last year with 9 seniors, this year looked like a very difficult challenge. We lost almost 95% of our scoring. However, this year’s team got off to a great and surprising start. Starting 3&2, with some huge overtime wins early, we fell in tough battles to Pine Grove & Solanco, two games that could have put us in district playoff contention. This put us in a tight spot of having to win some tough games down the stretch, however, losing on the last shot to Lancaster Catholic and Manheim Central made the playoffs a long shot. Both Elco games, vs. a top 6 district team as well, were tight with us holding leads in the 2nd half and 4th quarter. However, again, tight losses in these games cost us a playoff berth. We were leading or tie in the 4th quarter in 13 of our 22 games which is fantastic. Add in that in 3 or 4 more games, we were within a couple buckets in the last 3-4 minutes and it shows how competitive this team was.

Picked to be last and not favored in a single game this season, we were a team that certainly over achieved. We were constantly mentioned by the media as surprising and a tough out every night. These kids, along with the coaching staff worked their tails off to compete every night with a young team. The

highs and lows of this season should be a spring board to future success. Although we lose 2 great seniors in Josh and Eyan, who both were huge parts of this year’s success, we are looking to make a great splash the next few seasons with the returning players! Hard work will decide if this takes place! Thanks seniors for setting the table!
