Statement of Problem and Substantiation for Public Input

Shipboard firefighting needs negative pressure fans. Positive pressure fans can be applied in certain applications, but the ideal would be negative pressure. Including both would be optimal, but if only 1 was to be included, the most desirable one would be negative.

Statement of Problem and Substantiation for Public Input

Some settings still use 3" hose as supply hose due to its maneuverability and the its weight. Some LDH is too heavy for piers or moving through other vessel. Having 3" as the minimum allows to stretch supply hose that can be more effective and safer.

Move section. 34.1 deals with Personnel Training and this annex item has nothing to do with personnel training. Section 30.3.2 deals with the Determination of Needs Study and references Annex H which is somewhat similar in intent to 1900 Annex E.Revise wording. NFPA 1900 Annex E deals with the specification process and requirements for automotive fire apparatus. While it might raise some issues that should be considered in specifying a firefighting vessel, it is not accurate to say that it will "provide information required in the various sections of this document." This wording was lifted from NFPA 1900 and needs to be modified for this document.NOTE: NEED TO MOVE * FROM 34.1 TO 30.3.2.NOTE: ANNEX E WILL PROBABLY GET RE-LETTERED IN THE FIRST DRAFT PROCESS.
