Schedule of Events

Normally this page is reserved for upcoming events but with the pandemic around us many events have been cancelled. Normally, we would have a meeting on the 16th of June but I have not received any info as to the status of the meeting. It is believed that all parades for the 4th of July have been cancelled but, once again, I have not received confirmation on this.

RE: GOLF OUTING UPDATE

As of 06/02/2020 the 8th Annual Fundraising Golf Scramble is ON for July 11th. We will have a steak dinner on the outside patio. As I mentioned before, what we won't have, is no basket raffles, no ball drops, no closest to pin or longest drive.

This is in effect as of now, and all of this could change the day of the scramble, with the exception of the basket raffle.

I don't know when our next meeting is scheduled but I do have fliers available, and anyone wishing one please email me at [email protected]

So lets get out get some fresh air and have fun.

“Since we all now know how to wash our hands, the next thing everyone should be taught is howto use turn signals” - unkown

Wow, it’s June already and we’re still in thpandemic mess....holiday celebrations cancelled, parades cancelled, events cancelled or postponedEverything seems to be up for grabs. But smost businesses have now reopened, I expectif you are going out and about, you’re staying safe.

One thing that has not changed however course, dues. Our dues are due in Augustseems a long way off, but so was June, and yethere we are. You can send in your dues any timebetween now and the end of August to remain ingood standing. Our dues are $35.00 per year.ask everyone not to wait until the last minute as afavor to me. It will lessen the amount of paperwork that has to be completed all at once.

I’m really looking forward to having our meetingsagain and seeing all your smiling faces. then... SEMPER FI

4 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

You and I can never be the kind of people God wants us to be on our own. We were never intended to do life that way. We all need people who are teaching us, sharing their lives with us, investing in us, and encouraging us to grow. The Bible tells us, “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20 NIV). In fact, to be all that God calls you to be, you need to learn from at least four kinds of people:

Mentors. These are your coaches. I’ve had a bunch of different mentors in my life. No one can teach you everything you need to know. One person will teach you in one area. Another person will teach you about something else.

Role models. These are people who are already doing or have already done what you want to do. Many of the skills you’ve learned in your life, you’ve learned by watching others.

Partners. You need co-workers and colleagues who are in your profession, people to support and challenge you on what God wants to do through your life.

Friends. Friends don’t necessarily help you with your goals. They’re just friends. They love you no matter what you do. You can mess up, and they still love you. A friend walks alongside you when everyone else walks out. That’s when you know who your true friends are.

Trying to live life solo isn’t just lonely. It works against God’s design for us. Find your people, and make yourself available and vulnerable to them and how God wants to use them in your life.

Medina County Unit, Marine Corps League Auxiliary Incorporated August 2012

Hello Auxiliary Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. Our lovely Doris Roberts lost her beloved husband yesterday. Lyle was taken to Medina Hospital two weeks ago. He was transported to Fairview Hospital for treatment. It was then decided that he would have better care at the main campus of Cleveland Clinic. His heart was functioning at 10%. If you do not have Doris’s address and would like to have it let me know. She has her grandson staying with her for now. I will forward any information that I receive that Doris wishes to share.

I am waiting to hear if the National Convention in Daytona will be held in August. We still have our reservations. On the way home we plan to visit Deb Seymour, a former member of our Auxiliary. All other meetings have been cancelled. Elections for department will take place in October.

The October meeting we will be in charge of making and serving lunch. It will be held at the Holiday Inn on route 18 in Fairlawn. I will have more information latter.

As soon as we are giving permission to meet we can pick a park or someone’s back yard so we can still distance and if necessary wear a mask for protection.

I hope all of you are healthy and doing well. Look forward to when we can get together. We will have a lot to catch up on.

This is our unofficial shirt shop.

They are located about half way down the North/South building just east of the bowling

alley. They have the shirts but we have to provide the patches to be put on.
