LFC Program Information

• The LFC Program is the stream of LSA made for committed players who are looking to enhance their technical abilities by joining a

competitive team environment.

• Players and parents should be aware that a far higher percentage of the time on-field is spent through technical/tactical skill practices, in

accordance with our LFC playing philosophy, the LFC BluePrint.

• Our U10, U11, & U12 Development Program is the first step for players who wish to develop both technical and tactical understanding

of the game.

• Our U13 LFC Transition Program is the second step for LFC, as players move from an equal play environment to more of a fair-play

environment.

• The final step in our LFC pathway is our LFC Competitive level aged for U15, U17 & U19. In these age groups teams will aim to win

National Championships and selection & game time will be at the discretion of the coaching staff.

• Teams in the U10 - U13 will be by birth year. U15 – U19 age groups will be formed in accordance to ASA guidelines.

For example:

• U13 (2008)

• U15 (2006 & 2007)

• U17 (2004 & 2005)

LFC Values

Every player, coach and manager in LFC is to adhere to the non-playing ‘LFC Values’. These are a set of non-negotiables that allows us to build a culture of respect to ourselves, others and our environment.

When as a team or individual at a training facility, tournament venue, hotel or restaurant:

- Appropriate dress only (no hats, no hoodies or board shorts)

- Clean up after ourselves (dressing rooms & benches)

- Show good manners at all times (hold doors open for other etc)

- Respect all officials, committee members, teams, referees & spectators

- No phones/game devices allowed at meal times, players are asked to sit with teammates

We should all be proud to represent LSA, LFC & the City of Lethbridge

• Practice days will be Tuesday’s and Thursday’s (U10 – U19) (Locations TBA)

• All sessions will be ran by certified LFC coaches, following our own curriculum & will be overseen by our Technical Director

• All LFC fees, scheduled practices, games & tournament recommendations are all subject to change if COVID-19 restrictions are put in place by AHS and ASA.

LFC Development

U10 (2011), U11 (2010) & U12 (2009)

• Our Developmental age groups give LFC players the perfect opportunity to enhance their technical skills and basic tactical

• All developmental LFC coaches are CSA certified and undertake training with the LSA Technical Director in order to able to

deliver the best sessions for developing players.

• All LFC programs are seen as the first step on pathway for committed players looking to build into competitive soccer. A higher

percentage of the sessions will be spent on building technical development than gameplay, parents are asked to be aware of

this when signing their child to the program. Parents looking for more of a recreational gameplay environment are asked to

register in the LSA House Program.

• Although it is the intention of the club to keep as many kids as possible in soccer, there is also a mandatory technical

expectation to ensure that all players feel comfortable in their surroundings. Ideally a LFC player will have had previous

experience in our LFC or LSA House Program.
