HEADEND. The DMR digital signal combiner MCA1000 Digital is the most advanced on the market. The meters provide maintenance personnel with information about the current consumption, the supply voltage and the RF gain of the system with a simple glance at the head.

SIGNAL COMBINER AND AMPLIFIER

AMPLIFIER. Intelligent bidirectional amplifier has local and remote diagnostics parameters such as line voltage, current consumption and downlink and upstream signal attenuation, but it has the intelligence of sensing a cable cut and using digital IP roaming to continue to operate By the redundancy ring. It has a manual attenuation circuit by means of dip switches so that the user can adjust the amplifier without it deteriorating to compensate the short cable lengths with excessive gain. It also has another automatic RF attenuation circuit that is used for both directions in conjunction with the AGC automatic gain control circuit to adjust the size of the RF signal to ensure that the signal remains within the optimum use window.

REMOTE MONITORING

MOBILE RADIO MODEM. The remote monitoring of locomotives allows scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance of faults that could be very expensive. The mobile readiomodem provides digital data exchange in VHF bandwidth between underground Diesel and cable driven monorails and railways with the MCA1000 radio base station Data exchange between the locomotive and the PRM-VHF mobile radio modem is carried out via the RS485 interface. Channel frequencies are programmable. PRM-VHF mobile radio modem is powered up with 11-16 VDC from a IS stabilized PSU located on the locomotive

Radiocommunication operates in line of sight in the surface but underground mines need a Leaky feeder or radiating coaxial cable to avoid communication looses in tunnel curves, so the cable has been especially designed with a poor quality shield, to allow RF signals to leak out evenly along its length. For this reason Leaky feeder cable has higher losses than normal coaxial cable and as the RF signal passes along the cable, the signal gets weaker and weaker

So the signal must be regenerated at some fixed intervals. For this end, the most cost effective method is to install bidirectional booster amplifiers every 350 or 500 meters and amplify the RF signals along the cable.

Radio communication with TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) technology greatly improves spectrum efficiency because it doubles the number of channels available against traditional analog FDMA systems. This results in high-quality, noise-free and reliable communication. Compared to analogue technology, DMR digital audio compression provides better noise filtering and excellent reception quality over a larger area, which is of particular importance at the edge of the range and in very noisy environments. This is achieved through the use of a narrowband codec and a digital error correction.

The System MCA1000 Digital has intelligent digital amplifiers that sense the exact point when radiant coaxial cable is accidentally cut and continue the operations with both cable segments cut with digital roaming throgh redundancy ring in the surface with microwave or fiber optic cable. This guarantees the continuity of the operation for more than 8 hours in cases of cable cuts or a power failure, for mines with critical operation giving time to react to locate the point of failure and to perform the repair.
