EDITORIAL MESSAGE

Dear Readers,

Welcome to Aegle Vista, Vol 13. Issue2. This issue of the newsletter will unfold for you the events the collegehas witnessed, from July to December 2013. The latter half of an academic year in educational institutions, isalways one of important events, examinations, results, fests and graduation days. This semester in CVRCEhas seen all of these and more.

However, the highlight of this semester of the academic year 2013-14, was the inspection the college underwent,in the process of seeking autonomy from the UGC. The inspection was conducted on 5th and 6th September,2013. We are extremely glad to announce that the college has been granted “Autonomous” status by the UGC.This is a big feather in the cap of CVRCE and hopefully heralds many more such momentous honors that thecollege will gather unto its fold.

The college celebrated Graduation day in the month of July. This is always an important event in the academiccalendar of CVRCE. Students and their performances were recognized and awarded on this day, which motivatedthem to soar even higher in life and achieve their goals.

The new batch of students of B. Tech first year joined the college in September. An Induction Programme forthe freshers was held in the same month. Students were formally introduced to the college and the faculty. TheProgramme reinforced the rules and regulations the students were expected to adhere to. They were alsomotivated by the respective Heads of the Departments to excel at their academics, achieve their goals, secureplacements in reputed companies, and bring laurels to the college.

While the Graduation Day bid goodbye to students who had passed out of the Institution, the Freshers dayhosted in October, welcomed the new students into the portals of the college. The freshers day is a muchawaited event in the campus and like in the past, this event was celebrated with great joy and fervor by both thefreshers and the seniors alike.

This part of the year sees the first of the companies arriving at the campus for placements. Several reputedcompanies held recruitment drives in the college and many students have been successfully placed in them. The college is sure it will be able to place many more students by the end of the academic year.

All these endeavours that the college boasts of, are envisioned and executed under the able leadership of ourChairman, Dr. C. V. Raghava, without whose relentless insistence on perfection, the Institution would not bewhat it is today.

The editorial team thanks all its patrons and readers for their consistent support of the newsletter. Please dobring to our attention suggestions if any, that you would like to see incorporated into the forthcoming editionsof the Aegle Vista.

Ciao !!! Until we meet again !!!

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies. - Mother Teresa

FRESHERS DAY

Scintillating music, girls and boys in colourful attire, new faces, smiles all along, resounding laughter- yes ! We are talking aboutfresher’s day. Fresher’s Day is a welcome party hosted for thenewcomers, as there is a need to make them comfortable in thenew atmosphere, to make them friendly and to motivate them. This is a customary event in almost all educational institutions.Students need moments to chill out. The very purpose ofFresher’s Day party is to co opt newcomers into a new systemin a friendly manner. It encourages the juniors to excel at theiracademics and to display their creativity and talent.

The fresher’s day party at CVR College of Engineering washeld on 26th October 2013, at the college auditorium. The day started off with a pleasant cloudy weather.Students participated in several cultural activities, the selectionfor which was done a few days before the main event.

The program commenced with the message of the Principal,CVRCE, Dr. L. V. A. R. Sarma. The Chariman, Dr. C.V.Raghava graced the occasion. Speaking at the event, he urgedthe freshers to make the best of the four years they would spendstudying a professional course in the college. He pointed out tothe perils of fierce competition in the real time world of theindustry and emphasised that only excellence would help themcarve a niche for themselves in their respective fields.
