Presentation outline…

• Interventions in Kharibandh (Kurimpur), Ganjam – 11 families were allotted house sites during July 2010– Integrated farming system– Integrated farming system– Convergence and linkages with Government programs– Benefits generated

• Homestead development through convergence– Things that worked– Proposed model of homestead development

• Way ahead : how to scale up the interventions?

vegetables were grown during rainy season

• Women members formed a self-help group on 21st July 2010 to

commemorate the eventful day

• Livelihood profiling and homestead development plan with family

members including women members – agriculture labour, migration

• Linkages with Government departments and agencies

house-site allocation – BPL and genuinely poor

– Demonstration and Model farm in each village (preferably the most – Demonstration and Model farm in each village (preferably the most poorest household): Place for training and demonstration on composing, organic pest control, water management and conservation, nutrition education

– Capacity building on homegarden, nutrition education

• Agriculture Training and Management Agency (ATMA), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), ICDS network

• Funding , Finances and co-ordination• Funding , Finances and co-ordination– Rural housing – Incentivisation scheme of MoRD
