Joseph FalconI live in Islip Terrace with my parents and belong to Troop 205 and Venture Crew 762. I am an only child and one of five grandchildren on my mom’s side of the family. We are a close family, who gets together often for dinners and celebrations, because fortunately we live near each other. I am a Senior at East Islip High School and plan to attend college in the Fall. My parents have been very involved in my Scouting career. My Dad and I have enjoyed many camping trips in Troop 205 together. My Mom was my Den Leader and then a Committee member in Troop 205. I do not believe I would have achieved all that I have without their love and support. I am thankful for all they do for me.I became a Cub Scout in first grade because I saw a flyer about Boy Scouts. I no-ticed that the boys looked like they were having fun, especially shooting the flaming arrow in one picture. I went home and told my parents that I wanted to join Cub Scouts. That September I went to my first Cub Scout meeting; and the rest is history.
I bridged over to Troop 205 in fifth grade and enjoyed many experiences I would otherwise never had a chance to, were it not for Scouts. I became a certified scuba diver and went to Sea Base in February 2017 with nine other Scouts and two leaders from my troop. In July 2017 I went, with over 30 other scouts in my Troop, to the National Jamboree at Bechtel Summit in West Virginia where I met scouts from all over the country even other countries as well. I became a member of the Order of the Arrow Secatogue Chapter with my Ordeal weekend in May 2015; completed the NYLT in April 2017 and Trail to Eagle in August 2017; all at Baiting Hollow Scout Camp. In Troop 205 I have experienced many different scouting trips, but the ones that stand out in my mind were: the April 2018 trip to Washington DC, where we were able to tour the White House (thanks to my Dad and Uncle Mike); the April 2014 trip to Annapolis and the September 2016 Fishing trip to Camp Hero. Over the years, I have worked on 20 Eagle projects within Troop 205, 2 outside the troop and 1 Girl Scout Gold project. This past October I had the opportunity to work as staff at the first Nightmare on Scouting Blvd, where I met scouts from all over Suffolk and had a great time at the haunted house. I hope to see this event grow in the future. I completed my Eagle Project on September 23, 2017; a Kids Safety Day, held at Brookwood Hall in East Islip. I had groups from the Great River and East Islip Fire Departments, MTA Police, Suffolk Sherriff’s Department and Exchange Ambulance of the Islips give demonstrations about safety to the community. I became an Eagle on December 13, 2017 and have remained active in my troop since then, becoming the first JASM the troop had in years. I continued to earn Merit Badges, even after becoming Eagle, and have received a total of 46, earning five Eagle Palms. I also earned my Pope Pius XII Religious Emblem in June 2019. This February I was part of the contingent from Suffolk County Council to Report to the State in Albany, along with the other Councils in NY State. Also, in February, I was part of the wait staff at the 2nd Annual Wild Game Dinner and enjoyed serving many of the Suffolk County leaders and volunteers.I have been active in my school and community as well. I was voted the Most Patriotic of the Senior Class; was the Sophomore and Junior Homecoming Representative, a member of the Student Government, Stage/Running Crew, Yearbook Club, Foreign Language Honor Society, NSHSS, PTSA, St. Mary’s Youth Ministry and East Islip Historical Society. I have been an EIHS Catch a Career breakfast participant, taken part in the Exchange Students program with Amityville HS, a Breakfast of Champions winner, received the East Islip Chamber of Commerce Student Award, and been on the Honor Roll and High Honor Roll. I have also helped at St. Patrick’s soup kitchen as well as with the Gary Brown Foundation at Thanksgiving. Last summer I worked with the Amityville Department of Public Works cleaning the beach and Village of Amityville. Now that I am a Senior, I am looking towards my future. I plan to attend college and study History and Secondary Ed-ucation. I want to teach History in High School. I believe that history is important and should be preserved. I want to be the teacher that brings history to life for the students. I have had a great role model, my History teacher Mr. Davis. He has taught me that history can be exciting.I plan to continue to remain active in Scouting, and have recently joined Venturing Crew 762 as well as became an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 205. I believe that Scouts has helped me to become the well-rounded person I am today and has taught me that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. My hope is that everyone gets to have experi-ences like I have had throughout my scouting career, even though I still have yet to shoot that flaming arrow. I will end with a quote my Scoutmaster, Mr. Businski, always says, “The Best is Yet to Come”.
Jason Harper My name is Jason Harper, a 14-year-old Life Scout and Assistant Patrol Leader from Troop 64, Coram. I have been a scout since Tiger and am passionate about continu-ing my scouting career, Eagle and beyond. I am committed to continuing my community service through organizations such as my church, Good Shepherd RC, and I am a member of Seneca Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society. As for recreational and academic activities, I like to par-ticipate in the school’s drama productions. I enjoy playing musical instruments, such as the clarinet, tenor sax, most percussion instruments, and a little piano. I am also in the select chorus in my school. I am honored to receive this award and will continue to work harder than I ever have to achieve my Eagle Scout and continue my community ser-vice to my town and nation.
Bryce Russell – Pack 221, Tiger
Although Bryce has only officially been a Scout for 2 years, he really has been involved in Scouting since birth. Bryce comes from a long line of Scouts and Scouters; his Grandfa-ther, Dad, Mom and 2 brothers are all involved in Scouting. It seemed almost natural for Bryce, at just a few months old, to don a handmade Cub Scout hat from his Grandmother to tag along in his stroller for all of the various Scouting events. Of course, at that point in Bryce’s life he was not choosing to be a Scout, simply sitting back along for the ride.
What makes Bryce the youngest recipient of the Honor Spirit Award is how he chooses to live by the Scout Law every day, in and out of uniform and his passion for being a Scout. Bryce is kind to everyone and his helping heart shines even brighter in uniform. He loves to get into uniform and help his Mom recruit new Scouts; most kids would feel like they were being dragged along, but for Bryce it’s exciting and an opportunity to tell other kids how great Scouting is! He is always excited to go to his Tiger meetings, Pack Nights and outings and is consistently an active participant, dedicated to helping his Den and Pack learn the Scouting way. After spending his first full Summer at Cub Scout camp, Bryce has adamantly insisted to anyone that will
listen that camp is the best place in the world because he gets to do Scouting there.
Although this is Bryce’s first award, no one expects it to be his last. His friends and family look forward to watching Bryce continue to grow into a remarkable young man, reaching for more advancements and accomplishments in Scouting and in life.

William T. Hornaday Silver medal - Aidan Donnelly
Aidan’s dedication to conserving the environment is extraor-dinary. From a very young age, he embraced local wildlife and botany programs and involved himself in every environmental project he was able to participate in. When Aidan learned about the William T. Hornaday awards he decided to set out to earn the badge. Aidan led youth and adult volunteers through the search, study, and protection of diamondback ter-rapin turtles, fulfilling the category of Fish and Wildlife Management. This project resulted in not only teaching others the importance ofpreserving a threatened species, but also the most rewarding experience of protecting 6 nests from predation and later releasing 54 hatchlings into the marsh. Aidan earned the Hornaday badge in April 2015.
Aidan’s passion for the environment did not stop there. After earning the rank of Eagle Scout at thirteen, he continued to volunteer with local environmental organizations, as well as earning the Outdoor Ethics Awareness and Action awards. In addition, he accepted the position as a youth staff member for Suffolk County Council Outdoor Ethics and took on the leadership role of the Outdoor Ethics Guide within his troop bringing forth the principles of Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly. Furthermore, Aidan had set his mind on leading three additional substantial conservation projects to be submitted for the consideration of earning the Hornaday Silvermedal.
First, Aidan noticed a large area with massively tall ornamental grasses growing wild, leaving the ground beneath them barren. After confirming the need for removal and securing the necessary permits, he led a two-year invasive species project to successfully eradicate Miscanthus sinensis from West Meadow Preserve. This was achieved without chemicals or any disturbance to the preserve. With the invasive grass eliminated, native grasses and plants have resumed growing in their natural habitat. Next, after witnessing the damaging effects of high tides at West Meadow Creek adjacent to the Ernst Conservation Center, Aidan chose to take on a soil and water con-servation project. After extensive research, he led volunteers through the planting and maintenance of carefully chosen native grasses and repair a dilapidated rock liner, resulting in a natural barrier to combat erosion.
For the final project, Aidan led a resource recovery and recycling project, guiding volunteers through the construction and installation of fifteen monofilament fishing line containers throughout Suffolk County. In addi-tion, he secured seven environmental organizations to maintain the containers. Furthermore, postage-paid ship-ping boxes were provided to these volunteers by a recycling facility Aidan contacted. The fishing line collected will be transformed into fish habitats and park benches. Now a freshman at Stony Brook University, majoring in Engineering Science, Aidan continues to stay involved in Scouts BSA. He upholds the morals and values of Scouting in his everyday life. Within the community, Aidan is a member of the West Meadow Stewardship Com-mittee, and a volunteer with both Four Harbors Audubon Society and Friends of Flax Pond. His goal is to bring awareness to the importance of our actions and provide resources and solutions to ake a positive difference for our precious world. Aidan earned the William T. Hornaday Silver Medal in February 2020.

Christian P. Buzzanca
Sharon Cannarella
Sharon was born in Brooklyn and raised by her parents in West Hempstead with her two broth-
ers and two sisters. They enjoyed an adventurous Long Island childhood of exploring the local creek, riding bicy-cles for hours at a time, playing endless games of stickball and softball, and attending the old Police Boys Club Camp during the summers. Sharon graduated from West Hemp-stead High School, where she played women’s softball and volleyball all four years, and eventually earned her AAS Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Farmingdale State College. Sharon is currently employed as a purchasing manager for NAPCO Security Technology in Amityville.
In 1996 Sharon married her wonderful husband John, an electrician by trade who is now retired, and moved to West Islip where they bought a home and raised their two children, Rose-mary and John. Rosemary is currently a junior at Binghamton University where she studies biology and John will graduate from high school this spring with plans to study visual commu-nications and graphic design at Farmingdale State College. Both children were very active in Scouting, which of course led to Sharon’s involvement, with Rosemary earning her Gold Award from the Girl Scouts and John recently becoming an Eagle Scout with Troop 179 in West Islip.
Somehow, in between working and raising a family, Sharon found the time to become extremely active with the West Islip PTA and other organizations. She became a fixture at every West Islip School Board and Planning Meeting where she quickly developed a reputation as someone who did their research and only offered her opinion when it was relevant to the dis-cussions. Sharon also became a “Parent-to-Parent” trainer with CHADD, teaching parents the skills needed to raise children with ADHD.
Sharon is currently the District Commissioner for the Sagtikos District. Prior to assum-ing the Commissioner’s spot, Sharon was the district’s Program Chair and a member of both the Activities and Training committees. Sharon is not only a Wood Badge graduate, but has been a staff member as well. In her spare time, Sharon is a committee member for Troop 179 and Crew 713, and is also the Committee Chair for Crew 762. Sharon is an active Brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow and was awarded the District Award of Merit in 2017.
Peter started Scouting in 1971 with Cub Scout Pack 233 and Troop 233 which met at the Timber Point
Elementary school in East Islip. Both units folded and not long after, Pack 205 and Troop 205 formed and replaced them. But before they folded he transferred to Troop 151 in Islip to continue in Boy Scouting for two years. Unfor-tunately he started working and dropped Scouting. In his junior year in high school he joined the Police explorer unit in the third precinct in Bay Shore. But again dropped Scouting for work.
After graduating High School he met his wife Christine and married in 1989. He started working for the
New York Telephone Company that same year, where he has worked for the last thirty years. In 1993 his first son Eric was born and four years later his second son John arrived. During his years with the phone company he held several positions; his favorite however was doing peer to peer training. A program called the cable college where craftsmen trained craftsmen was started and he had the privilege of sharing his knowledge with other craftsmen for two years. After hours he volunteered some of his time with local political organizations. After learning of the loss of several people from his youth, who encouraged him to go to college, he decided to go to college as an adult and get a degree.
As his sons grew and started joining other activities, his volunteering now turned to supporting his sons. As time went on he started as an assistant coach with Little League teams eventually becoming a head coach. He also helped out with their churches youth organization. And of course becoming a scout leader because “it’s only one hour a week.” Coincidentally his sons joined Troop 151, the last Boy Scout unit he belonged to. Than transferring to Troop 205 the first unit he belonged to.
Peter is currently an assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 205 in Great River and has been a part of the Sagtikos District training and events programs. Staffing several trainings including Scout Master Specific, IOLS and Cub trainings. He co-ran a spring camporee, a winter campo-ree, and also staffed district events. He has been involved with council trainings including staff-ing several National Youth Leadership trainings and Woodbadge courses and was asked to be the course director for a National Youth Leadership Training course. He is also the Vice Chair of training for Suffolk County.
Peter J. D’Ambrosio
Bruce grew up in Tuxedo Park, NY. He began his scout-ing career as a Cub Scout in Pack 46. He earned the Webe-los (Arrow of Light) Award. Bruce taught the basic knots he had learned in Cub Scouts to his fellow recruits in Navy boot camp. After college and the Navy, Bruce moved to eastern Long Island. It was then that Christine and Bruce discovered each other. They married and built a house in Hampton Bays. Two sons came along, and Christine coaxed Bruce to get involved in Cub Scouting for their boys. Bruce reluctantly agreed, saying he would only get the uniform shirt. He was not going to commit to a long run in Scouting. He and his son, Bruce joined Pack 483 in Hampton Bays in 1985. He is wearing that shirt in the photograph.
Scouting was fun! It was a good way to meet other par-ents and work together to raise boys in Hampton Bays. Their sons saw that the “strict” rules in their own home were about the same as those in their friends’ homes. They went to Frost Valley. They camped at Baiting Hollow. They had a wonderful time.
Bruce became a Webelos Den Leader. Everyone in his den earned the Arrow of Light. When the boys crossed over to Boy Scouts, Bruce became an Assistant Scoutmaster. Same shirt, dif-ferent patches. In the Peconic Bay District, Bruce was a Cub Scout Leader trainer, a Boy Scout Leader trainer, the Training Chair and Vice-chair of Program. He was an FOS presenter. Peconic Bay District led the Council’s FOS program in the mid-90s. He completed Wood Badge NE-II-73 as an Antelope. In 1996, Bruce became Scoutmaster of Troop 483.
In 1997, Bruce’s employer offered to relocate the Doschers to Kennesaw, Georgia. The Doschers accepted. Son Bruce was off to college and son Andrew was a Life Scout. The move to Georgia was made much easier by being members of the Scouting family. Bruce was an As-sistant Scoutmaster, a Unit Commissioner and an FOS presenter. The Doschers returned to their home in Hampton Bays in the summer of 2001. Both sons were Eagle Scouts; Andrew was in college and son Bruce was on his own.
Hampton Bays was now in the Trailblazer District. Bruce was Boy Scout Leader trainer, and an FOS presenter. He is currently a Deputy District Commissioner.
Bruce went to Philmont twice: once to the Training Center and once on a trek. He earned all five Suffolk County High Adventure awards, a Master of Commissioner Science and the District Award of Merit in 2012.
Bruce and Christine continue to live in the house they built in Hampton Bays. Bruce works as an electrical inspector and as the editor of St. Rosalie’s weekly church bulletin.
Bruce and Christine see their grandchildren and their grand dogs every chance they get.
Bruce C. Doscher
Joe’s first experiences in Scouting were as a youth in Middle Village, Queens where it left a lasting mark on him and those positive experiences would be recalled when his son John enrolled as a Tiger in North Babylon’s Pack 112.
At first, work and family commitments prevented him from taking on more than a parent’s role in his son’s Scouting experience until the call of leadership was thrust upon him and he became an Assistant Cubmaster and later Cubmaster in John’s final years of Cub Scouting. It was during this time that he was indoctrinated into Sagtikos District Scouting and joined Cub Scout Roundtable staff where a great program and show was put on for the Cub leaders every month. Joe attended Woodbadge, Course NE-II-121 in 2002 as a Bobwhite and received his beads in 2003. When John bridged into the brave new world of Boy Scouting n 2003, Joe followed him, becoming an adult leader in Troop 399, first as a member of the Troop Committee, then
as an Assistant Scoutmaster, and finally as the Scoutmaster - a position he still holds today. Shortly afterwards, Joe moved from Cub Scout to Boy Scout Roundtable staff helping other Boy Scout lead-ers to provide a quality program for their units.
Joe was also tapped to join the Sagtikos District training staff, where he participated in many Cub and Boy Scout level adult leader trainings and ran a few Scoutmaster Specific and IOLS courses. In 2009 Joe was recognized for his service to the Sagtikos District, receiving the District Award of Merit
Joe became a Unit Commissioner in 2004 and later an ADC - a role he still holds today. Hav-ing attended Commissioners College, he holds a Masters in Commissioner Science and has taught classes as an Instructor. In 2010 Joe was awarded the Distinguished Commissioner Award and had the honor of seeing his son John become an Eagle Scout- having completed his “Quest for Eagle”- Troop’ 399’s motto.
In 2012, Joe joined the Lions Club of North Babylon- the sponsoring charter organiztion for North Babylon’s Pack 112 and Troop 399. As a Lion, Joe became an important link between the char-ter organization and the youth in his community, participating in service projects, vision screenings, and staffing the annual North Babylon Street Fair and the Turkaree Jamboree in Belmont Late State Park. In recognition for his service to Lions and the youth they serve, Joe was awarded the Everyday Hero Award from the Lion’s Brandel-Murphy Youth Foundation in 2019. During that same year, Troop 399 honored Joe’s dedication and service to the unit as the Scoutmaster by awarding him with the Unit Leader Award of Merit.
More recently Joe joined the Sagtikos District Committee as the Nominating Committee chair-man, working with a fine group of Scouters to help select new leaders and had the honor of presiding over the 2020 elections. He also has the honor of being one of the founding members of Venture Crew 399 (also sponsored by the North Babylon Lions Club) creating a new Scouting program in the North Babylon community. When Joe is not doing something related to Scouting or Lions, he is an avid amateur photographer, gardener, outdoorsman, Yankees fan, and caregiver to his father John- who just turned 94. In his professional career Joe is a senior Information Technology professional and organizational leader, having held the position most recently of Chief Information Officer and served on the Board of Directors for a software development company.
But of all the things Joe is, he really wants to be best known as a dedicated and loving husband to his lovely wife Bridget of 32 years, father to son John and daughter Michaela. Family is where the heart and soul lives and is nourished to allow him to do all the other good things in his life.
Joseph A. Fatuzzo
Much of Chris’s scouting career started later in life. After spending a few years in Cub Scouts in Mastic, NY, he moved to Cutchogue and graduated from Mattituck High School. Pursuing a career in accounting, Chris went to Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and then furthered his studies at LIU Post, receiving both a Bachelors in Science and Masters in Taxation. After passing the CPA exam, Chris went on to work for one of the Big 4 accounting firms; Price-WaterhouseCoopers.
It was as a manager at PriceWaterhouseCoopers that Chris was re-introduced to Scouting. A partner at the firm recommended him for the Council Board. Chris joined the Board and shortly thereafter, became the Treasurer, a position he held for nine years. He con-tributed to the review of the Council financial statement as a member of the audit committee and has worked closely with the executive team at Council on various financial matters. During this time, he and his wife Karen moved to Smithtown where they raise their two sons, Ryan and Liam.
When Ryan started elementary school, he joined Pack 328 and Chris became a Den Lead-er. Four years later, as Liam joined the Pack, Chris became the Pack Leader, a role he continues to hold today. Ryan has since joined Boy Scout Troop 343 and Chris plays an active role in their camp outs and committee meetings. Chris looks forward to playing a more active role in Troop 343 when Liam joins the troop next month.
In addition to Scouting, Chris is very active in his local community. He serves as the Assistant Soccer coach for the U15 boys Hauppauge team, Assistant Football coach for the U11 boys Hauppauge team, Assistant coach for the Hauppauge Youth Wrestling program, and has previously served as Assistant coach for his boy’s baseball and basketball teams.

Congrats Dad on being recognized for a lifetime of service. We are all very proud of you.
Love, Bruce Doscher
Some of the fondest memories growing up involve time spent with my Dad in Boy Scouts. From building pinewood derby cars in our basement then racing them at the Cub Scout meetings, to hiking through the beautiful Philmont Scout Ranch.
He was the massive support system I needed to achieve Eagle Scout. My Dad was an integral part of the leadership for our troop, who was always willing to give
his time teaching us the Scout Oath and Scout Law and how to implement them into our everyday life forever. My dad was an amazing Scout Leader, but more
importantly he is an extraordinary father.
Congratulations dad on your achievement of the Silver Beaver Awardfor you are more than deserving of this accomplishment. Thank you for everything
you do. I love you, Andrew Doscher
