(NAAC). I feel very proud to share that our college topped amongst city colleges in NIRF

Rankings second time in a row. It has attained 86th rank in India Rankings 2020 by National

Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHRD, Govt. of India. Rashtriya Uchchatar

Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) Infrastructure Grant of Rs. 2 Crore received from MHRD and various

other grants from different funding agencies have enhanced the infrastructure, quality and branding

of our education.

Government Home Science College is a pioneer and professional institute of Home

Science in the country. Since its inception in 1961, it has grown into an excellent

educational centre, satisfying the professional and specialized needs of the contemporary

woman. The former Chief Minister of undivided Punjab, Late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon,

was instrumental in establishing this prestigious institute which has undergone a long

successful journey of expansion in the field of Home Science. Starting with a three-year

degree course in B.Sc. Home Science, it expanded its horizons in the true sense by offering

a revamped undergraduate programme by gearing it towards specialization to make it

more skill and career oriented. The need based changes have been introduced in five

undergraduate specializations namely Apparel and Textile Design; Dietetics; Human

Development and Family Relations; Interior Design and Resource Management and B.Sc.

Home Science Composite. The college also offers an undergraduate degree course in

Fashion Designing and Master’s degree courses in Clothing and Textiles, Foods and

Nutrition and Human Development and Family Relations. The need based Postgraduate

Diplomas in Fashion Designing, Nutrition and Dietetics and Child Guidance and Family

Counselling are also other options after graduation. Ph.D. in Home Science is also offered

with course work.

Home Science is a unique field of knowledge. Its inter disciplinary approach in

synthesizing knowledge drawn from physical and biological sciences, social sciences, arts

and humanities has enriched its educational programmes. It caters to the present day

requirements of education in order to meet the rapidly changing demands of family life

and the multiple roles that woman has to play in home as well as professional life. The

different areas of specialization also concentrate on providing suitable training to the

students for various job opportunities. The trained graduates and postgraduates are

absorbed in hospitals, industrial units, hotel industries, and health fitness clubs. They can

also work as teachers, counselors, sales managers, apparel & interior designers,

consultants and field workers in extension education and community development

programmes. Thus, Home Science empowers woman at personal, professional, social,

entrepreneurial and economic fronts.

The College runs a laboratory Nursery School, Chaitanya, with 50 students on rolls, under

the department of Human Development and Family Relations, to impart practical training

to its students. The other major departments of Home Science are also having well

equipped state of art laboratories.

Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) under (MHRD, Govt. of India) is a

Centrally Sponsored Scheme, launched in 2013 which aims at providing strategic funding

to eligible state higher educational institutions. Our college received third installment of

PROFILE OF THE COLLEGE

RUSA infrastructure grant of Rs. 50 lacs on 29th August 2019.Out of this grant under the

Head ‘Renovation/Up gradation of Existing Facilities ,Rs.32, 82,859/ has been deposited

with the engineering department for renovation of committee room, pantry, E-Pathshala,

flooring of the circulation area on the second floor. The process of getting kitchen in the

hostel mess renovated and making it modular has already been initiated under this grant.

RUSA has also facilitated the procurement of new equipments for the college.

Teaching aids, swings for the nursery school (under HDFR department), scanners and

Digital teaching system have been procured to provide impetus to teaching learning

process. Digital notice board was purchased for disseminating important information to

staff and students in shortest possible way. The procurement of Interactive flat panel

display with stand and Vertical signage are going to be of immense help in smart

classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums for conducting workshops and seminars. They

present content clearly and provide wide viewing angles to view vital information

accurately. Following the guidelines of the Central government scheme of ‘Fit India’, an

outdoor gym equipments were purchased and installed in the college grounds. The college

has a fully air-conditioned and user-friendly library which caters to the academic and

educational needs of the students and the staff.

The beautiful spacious college and hostel buildings offer a peaceful, serene yet stimulating

environment to the students. The campus is endowed with well-manicured lawns, spacious

lecture theatres, smart class rooms and laboratories which makes the workplace more

condusive and eco-friendly for the teachers as well as students. The college has rich indoor

and outdoor sports and fitness facilities which cater to students of all aptitudes and

abilities. The faculty comprises of highly qualified and experienced members,

instrumental in imparting a high standard of education to its students. The faculty also

participates in national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. They are

also contributing in various technical and professional bodies related to Home Science.

In anticipation of the changing environment and also the changing skill sets of

professionals in modern industries, the curriculum has been revised to make it more

relevant, holistic, contextual and specialized. The college offers facilities for academic

excellence, cultural enrichment and physical fitness of the students to build a multifaceted

personality and prepares them to face the challenges that lie ahead. The institute aims to

prepare young girls into skilled human resource with rich moral and social values

who can give their best for the national development.

Over the years, the college has built up great credibility and gained recognition as a

premier institute. National Institution Ranking Framework (NIRF) has evaluated the

college on the basis of Teaching Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and

Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI),

Perception. The college is proud to attain 72nd rank and 51.27 score points in the college

category by NIRF, MHRD 2019.

Human Development and Family Relations

The department of Human development and family relations prepares students for careers in public and

private human service agencies. It lays emphasis on learning to help individuals and family to understand

needs, different developments, challenges, issues of concern and possible remedies or steps for different

stages of human development and family relations. Given the changing trends and the ever increasing

requirement of experts in the field of Human Development and Family Relations, the department has

Composite (30 seats), Dietetics (30 seats), Human Development and Family Relations (20 seats),

Interior Design and Resource Management (20 seats). All candidates will be admitted in B.Sc. Home

Science at the time of admission to Semester I and Semester I to IV will be common to all.

Specializations will be allotted during Semester IV and implemented in Semester V on the basis of

merit drawn up with the following formula -

50% of aggregate marks of 10+2 + 50% of cumulative aggregate marks of University

examinations of B.Sc. Home Science Semester I and Semester II.

Reservation of Seats for B.Sc. (Home Science) / B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) -Semester I

Chandigarh Quota: 60% seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed their qualifying

examination from Chandigarh institutions.

Outstation Quota: 40% seats are reserved for the candidates who have passed their qualifying

examination from the institutions situated outside Chandigarh.

Reservation of Seats for Post Graduate Diploma Courses/M.Sc. (Home Science)-

Semester I

Chandigarh Quota: 60% seats are reserved for the candidates passing the lower qualifying

examination from colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union

Territory, Chandigarh as regular students of the said college.

Outstation Quota: 40% seats are reserved for the candidates who passed their lower qualifying

examination from institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh.

• B.Sc. Home Science - Semester I Candidates who have passed the +2 examination of 10+2 system of education from CBSE, Board of

School Education, Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh or equivalent thereof, with English as a

compulsory subject.

Admission to Semester I of B.Sc. Fashion Designing shall be open to candidates with atleast 50%

marks (45% marks for SC and ST category candidates) in 10+2 examination from CBSE, Board of

School Education, Punjab/Haryana/Himachal Pradesh or equivalent thereof, with English as a

compulsory subject.

Foreign Students

All foreign students shall obtain Eligibility Certificate from Deputy Registrar (General) Panjab University,

Chandigarh. The admission of the foreign students to the College would be governed by the Guidelines

issued by the Dean Foreign Students. The eligibility application form should be accompanied by a

forwarding letter from the Principal of the College. After obtaining the Eligibility Certificate, the candidate

should submit the same to the College.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

Procedure to Apply Online by New Students (UG Courses)

Instructions

Visit the DHE website www.dhe.chd.gov.in for online admission/application process.

There is no offline mode to submit the application form.

Download Prospectus of Government Home Science College, 2020-2021.

Read Prospectus carefully before applying for any course.

Last date of applying is 05th August, 2020 (Monday)

Step 1: Online Registration

1. Click on the link e-प्रवेश (2020-2021) on the DHE website www.dhe.chd.gov.in.

2. Click on Sign Up to register on website by filling Email ID, Mobile Number (WhatsApp) and Name

(Spellings of Name must be same as in Class-X marks sheet/certificate).

3. Mobile Number will be the Login ID and Password will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile

number through SMS.

4. Candidate can change the password, if he/she desires.

5. Candidate will be able to Login to the admission portal by using the password in all future visits to

this portal.

6. Pay Registration Fee of Rs. 70/- online to proceed further to fill application form. Note down

the transaction number generated.

7. Payment verification will take maximum up to 24 hours. The candidate can verify his/her payment

by using the option Payment Verification on the website (Note: Transaction number will be used

to verify the status of transaction).

8. Candidate can apply for Multiple Courses/Colleges with the same User id and Password.

However, the applicants will have to fill separate form for different courses.

Step 2: Login to apply for courses

1. Logon to the DHE website www.dhe.chd.gov.in with the registered user id and password.

2. Click on APPLICATION FORM. Candidate will be asked two options:-

1) Degree Colleges 2) Professional Colleges

Select option 2) Professional Colleges.

3. Candidate will select his/her choice. Candidate will be asked two options:-

2) New Student 2) Old Student

4. Candidate applying for the first time for 1st year of courses in UG/PG courses will click on the link

New Student.

5. Select Centralized Admission link for courses for which admissions are centralized and select Non-

Centralized link for courses whose admission will be in respective colleges (Check Prospectus for

details).

6. Instruction page will be displayed once the candidate selects the Course.

7. Read the rules and regulations thoroughly before filling the Application form.

8. The application form will be displayed to the candidate.

Step 3: Filling the Online Application Form

1. Applicant will have to fill details in various columns as required.

2. The application form has separate columns for Mother’s Name and Father’s Name. Both names have

to be mentioned in the form. However, in case applicant doesn’t wish to declare the name of either

the Mother or the Father, he/she may not be forced to do so and no applicant will be denied admission

on this ground.

3. Tick mark the reserved category, if any, and upload the valid supporting documents showing the

name of the applicant. Certificates issued in the name of parents will not be valid. If the applicant

has not tick marked on the specific reserved category, she cannot claim the seat in that category at

the time of admission.

4. Applicant must fill working Email ID (compulsory) and Email IDs of the parents (optional).

5. Applicant must fill her WhatsApp Mobile Number and the parents Telephone Number/Mobile

Number (Applicant will receive acknowledgement of the filled Online Form through SMS on

his/her mobile number only).

6. The column meant for hostel accommodation in the admission form should be filled with YES or

NO. There is no separate form for hostel admission. However, the applicant cannot claim the

seat as her right. If the applicant does not opt for hostel in the form then she cannot claim the hostel

seat at the time of admission.

7. In case applicant applies for hostel accommodation, he/she must fill complete particulars of Local

Guardian (resident of Chandigarh/ Mohali/ Panchkula only).

8. Applicant must fill Bank Name, Account Number, IFSC Code of Branch and Aadhar Card

Number (if allotted), EPIC Number (Voter Card number if allotted), Ration card details (if

any).

9. For admission, fraction of marks less than the requisite percentage will not be rounded off to the

advantage of the applicants i.e. 32.9%, 39.9% and 49.9% will not be rounded off to 33%, 40% and

50% respectively.

10. The full name of the Board/University from which the last examination has been passed is to be

given e.g. Punjab School Education Board instead of PSEB.

11. Applicant will be able to view and can modify the information before final submission of the online

application form. After final submission on the last day to apply, modification of form will be

locked.

12. Applicant should note the Application Form Number generated after online form submission.

13. At the time of scrutiny of the form, if any discrepancy is found regarding any information given/

documents uploaded, an SMS will be sent to the applicant on her registered mobile number.

14. Applicant’s form will be unlocked and he/she will be able to upload the additional document

demanded on receiving the SMS regarding discrepancy, if any, within a specified time.

15. Application form submitted after due date or incomplete in any respect will not be accepted.

16. The declaration given in the admission form should be digitally signed both by applicant and his/her

Parent/Guardian.

Step 4: Upload Certificates/Testimonials, Scanned Photograph and Signature

1. One set of scanned original testimonials/certificates should be uploaded (in .pdf

format only) with the admission form: - Matriculation Certificate for Date of Birth.

10+2 Detailed Marks Certificate.

University/ Board DMC of the lower examination.

Character Certificate from the institution last attended or from a Gazetted Officer in case of

private candidates. (Specimen of the form is given at the end of the Prospectus)

Migration Certificate/ Inter-University Migration Certificate.

Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Challenged Persons/ Sports/ Defence/ Freedom

Fighter’s Ward/ Kashmiri Displaced Person’s Ward/ Descendants of Kargil Martyrs/ Single Girl

Child/ One out of only Two Girl Children/ Cancer/ AIDS/ Thalassemia Patients/ Border Area/

Sports Gradation Certificate issued from Chandigarh Sports Department for both U.T Pool and

Instructions for Online Admissions

1. Read the instructions and procedure thoroughly before filling the admission form for any course.

2. For the detailed admission schedule, applicant should refer to the DHE website i.e.

www.dhe.chd.gov.in or the college website.

Instructions for 1st Online Admission Schedule:

a. The verification of forms and the discrepancies (if any) will be notified to the concerned students

from 06-08-2020 to 08-08-2020.

b. The applicant has to clear the discrepancy (if any) by 08-08-2020 positively.

c. After the verification of admission forms, the provisional merit list of the eligible candidates

will be displayed on the college website on August, 11, 2020.

d. Once the seat is assigned to the applicant by the college as per the date and time mentioned in

the 1st Online Admission Schedule, she will receive an SMS regarding the deposit of fee.

e. The eligible candidates in the merit list must deposit the fee online at DHE website

www.dhe.chd.gov.in or E-Sampark. While depositing the fess the new admission students

should mention their form number along with the name of the college. The dates for the fee

submission (for 1st Online Admission) are from 13-08-2020 to 16-08-2020.

3. Applicants who have been allotted seats in the college for the 1st Online Admission Schedule but

could not take admission or pay fee, will get a chance of admission in 2nd Online Admission

Schedule.

4. The display of list of admitted candidates (those who have deposited the fees) as well as the

provisional merit list of eligible candidates of 2nd Online Admission will be available on college

website on August, 18, 2020. Once the seat is assigned to the applicant by the college as per the date

and time mentioned in the 2nd Online Admission Schedule, she will receive an SMS regarding the

deposit of fee.

5. The date of fee submission for the 2nd Online Admission will be from 18-08-2020 to 19-08-2020.

6. The list of admitted candidates (those who have deposited the fees) along with the provisional merit

list of eligible candidates for the 3rd Online Admission will be available on college website on

August 21-08-2020. Once the seat is assigned to the applicant by the college as per the date and

time mentioned in the 3rd Online Admission Schedule, she will receive an SMS regarding the

deposit of fee.

7. The fee submission for 3rd Online Admission will be from 21-08-2020 to 22-08-2020.

RULES & REGULATIONS GOVERNING ONLINE ADMISSIONS

1. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations contained in the

latest University calendar/guidelines/any other instructions which have been issued/may be issued by

the University from time to time for the respective courses/examinations and on the basis of merit.

2. All the admissions to this institution are provisional and subject to the approval of the Panjab

University. The Institution cannot be held responsible in case the University does not approve

the admission of a student on account of giving incomplete information, concealing necessary

facts or attaching incomplete testimonials or delayed submission of certificates etc. The

fine/penalty imposed for the same will be the personal responsibility of the student.

3. Students are advised to keep a hard copy/soft copy of the submitted (filled) Admission Form for future

reference.

4. Any instruction or rule received from the Director Higher Education, Chandigarh

Administration/Panjab University will be binding on the students.

5. Candidates with gap year will not be admitted to the college until the gap is explained to the

Other important instructions

1. The admission will be based on merit, which will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained

in qualifying examination.

2. Weightage, wherever applicable, would be given as per Panjab University, Chandigarh norms.

3. Two affidavits, in original, are to be attached with the application form in case of gap year/years,

if any (Specimen of the affidavit is given in the college Prospectus). Applicants with gap year will

not be admitted to the college until the gap is explained to the satisfaction of the convener of the

respective admission committee of the concerned college, by submitting an affidavit as per the

specimen given at the end of the Prospectus. Scanned copy of the original affidavit is also

required to be uploaded in .pdf format. Applicant having gap year has to fill the form

online as ‘NEW STUDENT’.

4. The documents uploaded by the applicant will be scrutinized to confirm that there is no shortcoming

or deficiency in the application form. Applicant will be able to check the status of his/her

application online with his/her password on the admission portal in this regard.

Hostel Admission

1. Candidates will apply on the prescribed college Admission Form incorporated in the

prospectus.

2. Concealment or wrong information at the time of admission will result into cancellation of

their seat.

3. Old Students are required to report for college and hostel admission positively as per the

Admission Schedule failing which they will lose their right to admission and hostel seat.

Parent accompanying is must. Students who do not pay mess dues in time will be debarred from

admission in the nest session or they may not be issued roll nos for final exams.

Reservation of seats in different categories viz, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Dependents of

Defence and Paramilitary Personnel, Freedom Fighters, Physically Challenged and Sports will be made

in accordance with the rules and instructions framed by the Chandigarh Administration, whereas in case

of Single Girl Child, One out of Two Girl Children, Kashmiri Migrants, Kargil Martyrs,

Cancer/AIDS/Thalassemia, Students from Jammu & Kashmir, Border Area Rural Area will be made as

per instructions issued by Panjab University from time to time.

Any student who applies in more than one reserved category will be considered in each reserved category

in which she applies for admission, maintaining her internal seniority in each reserved category on the basis

of merit in that category. In such a case, the student will get the benefit in one category of her choice.

C. Reservation for Physically Challenged

The physically challenged student will be required to furnish a medical certificate issued by the Principal

Medical Officer of her concerned district/Civil Surgeon of Chandigarh, indicating percentage of disability,

whether she is otherwise able to pursue her studies, name of the disease/handicap, whether the handicap is

temporary or permanent; and whether the handicap is progressively degenerative.

5% marks concession will be given to physically handicapped persons in the minimum eligibility criteria

for a course, subject to minimum disability of 40%, provided they have obtained minimum pass marks

prescribed by regulations.

(Amendment in PU calendar Vol I 2007 chapter VIII (D) Regulation 29.3 approved by Senate PU on 29-

03-2008)

Students with a temporary handicap will not be considered against the reserved seats for the physically

challenged. Where the certificate is issued by any authority other than the Principal Medical Officer of

Chandigarh, the concerned Head of the institution shall refer the candidate to the Principal Medical Officer,

Chandigarh and shall admit the candidate only after confirmation from the PMO, Chandigarh.

All candidates seeking admission, will furnish an undertaking, as under, along with their application form:

I certify that I have no such physical handicap/disability which would hinder the pursuit of studies in the course

in which I am seeking admission. If at a later stage it is found that I have a physical handicap/disability which

hinders the pursuit of studies in the course in which I am seeking admission, then my admission will be liable to

be cancelled.

In case of any doubt in interpretation of any clause of these instructions, the matter shall be referred to the

Chandigarh Administration whose decision shall be final.

D. Reservation for Wards of Freedom Fighters

2% seats in each pool will be filled from the category of children and grandchildren of Freedom Fighters.

A certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district will have to be attached with

the admission form.

E. Reserved Categories of Sports

This will be as per rules and regulations of Sports Dept. of the Chandigarh Administration vide Home

Secretary letter no. 8493, dated 5-5-2003. Implementation of the policy will be as under:

1. 2% of the total number of seats in each course shall be filled up by sportswomen. These 2% seats shall

be reserved on the basis of total intake of each course. Fraction of 0.5 or above shall be rounded off to the

next higher number. This category shall not be divided into Chandigarh pool/outstation pool. The inter

merit of the candidates seeking admission in any course in the Reserved Category of sports shall be

determined only on the basis of their merit in sports as per grading criteria mentioned. In case any of the

seats in the sports category in any branch remains vacant, the same shall be thrown open to the candidates

of General Category. This policy is for the players of Chandigarh only.

2. Benefit of reservation under this category shall be available only to the following category of students:

i. Those who pass their qualifying examination from Schools/Colleges, recognized by the

Chandigarh Administration in the Union Territory of Chandigarh as regular students and have

applied for Gradation Certificate will be given admission subject to the condition that such

students must represent Chandigarh State/Schools etc. in the National / other recognized

tournaments.

ii. Where the Chandigarh Administration has adopted the notification of other States/U.Ts. on

reciprocal basis, to give benefit of reservation to admission in sports category in Chandigarh, they will

be graded as per the existing policy of the Chandigarh Administration.

iii. Countersigning of the Gradation Certificates shall only be admissible on reciprocal basis provided

that countersigned certificates will be graded as per the policy of the Chandigarh Administration.

3. Students seeking admission under this category shall be considered only:

i. If her age falls within the age group which is eligible for participation in Intercollege/Inter-University

tournaments.

ii. If her achievement in sports relates to her activity in any of the three years preceding the year of

admission. (For example, for admission in the year 2011-12, the Achievements shall not be prior to

April, 2008).

iii. Gradation Certificate will not be meant for employment purposes.

4. The Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration, or his nominee, not below the rank of the Joint

Director, Sports will issue the certificate, and also have the authority to cancel any certificate at any time

if it is found to have been issued on false/incorrect/concealed information or record.

Note: The merit of certificates shall be graded as A, B, C, D in the descending order. Details of these

grades are available with the admission committees of all the colleges.

F. Reservation for Victims of November 1984 Riots and Terrorism

(DR Colleges letter no. Misc./A-6/85581-85781 dated 25/5/17)

2% reservation for sons/grandsons/daughters/granddaughters/husband/wife/brothers/sisters of persons

killed/incapacitated in November 1984 riots and of persons killed/incapacitated in terrorist violence in

Punjab and Chandigarh. A certificate from the District Magistrate to this effect must be submitted by the

candidate. Migration card alone is not enough.

Note: Amendment if any in the reservation policy of Chandigarh administration/Panjab

University will be followed.

II. Additional Seats including NRI (Non-Convertible)

(a) Wards of Kashmiri Displaced Persons (DR Colleges Letter No. Misc./A-6/84247-84447 dt. 10.5.17)

As per letter No. Misc./A-6/84247-84447 dated 10.05.2017 from the Deputy Registrar, Panjab University:

As conveyed vide letter no. D.O No. F 1-13/2010 CPP-II dated 19th March 2015 from University Grants

Commission and letter No. F. No. 3-1/2012-NER dated 12thMarch 2015 from Govt. of India, Ministry of

Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi with regard

to the concession to the Kashmiri migrant for admission in Higher Education which are read as under

i. Relaxation in cut-off percentage up to 10% subject to minimum eligibility requirement.

ii. Increase in intake capacity up to 5% course wise

iii. Reservation of at least 1 seat merit quota in technical/professional institutions

iv. Waiving off domicile requirements.

(b) Wards of Permanently Disabled and Martyrs of Kargil War letter no. 6576-6875/R & S, dated 27-05-2014, Panjab University.

Concession be given for admission to various courses in Educational Institutions up to academic year 2020-

21 only to those wards of martyrs/permanently disabled (up to 80% leading to incapacitation) of Kargil

war who have a valid certificate from the Ministry of Defence to this effect:

a) 1% seats with minimum of 1 seat in the Departments except in partially financed/ self-financing

courses.

b) Exemption of Fee.

c) Exemption of Hostel Fee. (vide Syndicate Para 30 (XI) dated 29-)7-08. for the

direct descendants of the Kargil Martyrs/permanently disabled (up to 80%

leading to incapacitation)

(c) Single Girl Child/One Girl Child out of the only Two Girl

Children

(DR Colleges letter No Misc./A-6/83745-83945dated:03/05/2017)

Two additional seats per unit per course subject to maximum limit of four (4) out of the two

girl children from the session 2015-16 are created for admission to a given course in Panjab

University Teaching Departments, Regional Centers and its affiliated Colleges, provided they are

otherwise eligible. The Additional seats will be only for those girl children who are either a

single girl child or one amongst the only two girl children with no male child. The additional

seat will be available to only one of the two girl children of a couple.

An affidavit on a stamp paper worth Rs. 20/- duly attested by Class I Magistrate to be obtained from

the parents of the girl children declaring therein that the benefit of this scheme is being claimed for

only one girl child out of the two girl children and the parents shall not claim the same for the 2nd

girl child elsewhere in future.

(d) Cancer / AIDS / Thalassemia Patients

1. One additional seat each for the student suffering from Cancer/AIDS/Thalassemia has been allowed for

admission in each course in Panjab University Teaching Departments, Regional Centres and its

affiliated colleges, subject to the condition that the candidate seeking admission under each of these

categories is otherwise eligible.

2. The claimant candidate will have to submit a certificate as a proof from the National Medical Institute

like PGI, AIIMS etc. in support of his/her claims.

Students from Jammu & Kashmir As per the letter No. F.I-1/2012(SA-III) dated 13.03.2015, the Syndicate has allowed to create 2 seats under

supernumerary quota in all recognized Higher Education Institutions for students from Jammu & Kashmir.

(e) Border Area Students (DR Colleges Letter No. Misc./A-6/83946-84246 dated 03.05.2017)

One additional seat over and above the sanctioned seats has been reserved for border area students. The

Border Area students shall mean those candidates who have passed their matriculation and 10+2

examination from the Border Area Schools situated within 20 kms from the International Border. A

candidate claiming such benefit will have to produce a certificate from the Tehsildar or the

Principal/Headmaster/Head of the School certifying that the Schools from where the candidate has passed

the matriculation or 10+2 examination, falls within the aforesaid Border Area.

(f) Two additional seats for Rural Area Students

(DR Colleges Letter No. Misc./A-6/83946-84246 dated 03.05.2017)

Only those candidates will be considered in this category, who have passed their Matriculation and 10+2

Examination from those rural schools that do not fall in the area of Municipal Corporation/Municipal

Committee/Small Town/Notified Area. Further, the candidates should have been studying in such school

for at least 5 years before passing the last examination. A candidate claiming such benefit will have to

produce a certificate from the D.E.O./Principal of the concerned institute of the area certifying that the

school from where the candidate has passed the Matriculation and 10+2 examinations falls within the

aforesaid Rural Area.

(g) One Additional Seat for Youth Festival

(letter no PU/DYW/1010-1200 Dated 27.05.2016)

1 In all the teaching courses, one additional seat per unit will be reserved for those candidates who

have excelled and outperformed in the Youth Festivals.

2. The candidates availing the aforesaid weightage must fulfill the eligibility condition for admission to the

particular course

3. For recommending admission on the basis of youth festival participation, admission criterion will be

fixed on the basis of merit as mentioned below and upon the verification of the original certificates of those

candidates, who:

a. have presented an item in an international cultural festival approved by Punjab Govt. /Govt. of India

/Panjab University.

b. have got distinction in All India National Inter University Youth Festival organized by AIU/Govt. of

India.

c. have got distinction in North Zone Inter University Youth Festival organized by AIU.

d. have secured First/Second/Third position in Inter University Youth Festival organized by Govt. of

Punjab / any State or Central University.

e. have secured First/Second/Third position in Panjab University Inter Zonal Festival.

f. have secured First/Second/Third position in Panjab University Zonal Festival.

g. have secured First/Second/Third position in state level competition of State School Education Board

of Punjab/Haryana/HP/or CBSE/ICSE or any other recognized board.

Category A is considered as higher category followed by B, C …. onwards.

Preference will be given to the candidate/s who have represented Panjab University, Chandigarh

in A, B, C or D category.

In case of two or more candidate having equal position at equal level:

a) Position secured in an individual item shall be rated higher than position secured as a team

member.

b) The eligibility of the candidate for participation in University Youth Festivals, in future,

may also be considered.

c) Academic record will be considered in case of tie between two or more candidates.

4. In case of any ambiguity, the related certificates shall be verified from the Department of Youth

Welfare, Panjab University through the concerned Chairperson/Principal/Head etc.

5. The candidate/s admitted on the basis of Youth Festival additional quota seats shall have to give an

assurance to the university authorities that during the duration of the course, the candidate will participate

in the activities associated with his/her item and will not create any kind of indiscipline. The admission

committee will assess the participation of the candidate and in case the candidate does not fulfill the

requirements, her admission may be cancelled. However, exemption may be given because of special

reasons like sickness or any other unavoidable reason.

allowed shall not exceed 9% of the normalized marks obtained in the qualifying examination. These

weightages shall not be used for determining eligibility for admission as prescribed by the Panjab

University under its regulations.

Note:

1. The student/s belonging to the above categories will also be considered in the general category according

to her merit. If admitted on the basis of her merit in the general category, she will not be counted towards

the seats reserved for the categories concerned.

2. Rules of Reservation policy existing at the time of admission will be applicable.

Reservation for Economically Weaker Sections(EWSs)

(Endst No -239-DHE-UT-AD.II-26(11)2000-3 Dated: 24-05-19

In pursuance of insertion of clauses 15(6) and 16(6) in the Constitution vide the Constitution (One Hundred

and Third Amendment) Act,2019 and order to enable the Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) who

are not covered under the existing scheme of reservations for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes

and the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes, to receive the benefits of the reservation in

admission in Educational Institutions, it has been decided by the Government to provide 10% reservation

to EWSs admission in Educational Institutions.

Persons who are not covered under the existing scheme of reservations for the Scheduled Castes, the

Scheduled Tribes and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes and whose family has gross annual

income below Rs. 8.00 lakh are to be identified as EWSs for the benefit of reservation. Family for this

purpose will include the person who seeks benefit of reservation, his/her parents and siblings below age of

18 years as also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years. The income shall include income

from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession etc. and it will be income for the financial year

prior to the year of application. Also persons whose family owns or possesses any of the following assets

shall be excluded from being identified as EWSs, irrespective of the family income:

I. 5 acres of Agricultural Land and above;

II. Residential flat of 1000 sq. ft. and above;

III. Residential plot of 100 sq. yards and above in notified municipalities;

IV. Residential plot of 200 sq. yards and above in areas other than the notified municipalities.

The income and assets of the families as mentioned in para 2 would be required to be certified by an officer

not below the rank of Tehsildar in the States/ UTs. The officer who issues the certificate would do the same

after carefully verifying all relevant documents following due process as prescribed by the respective

State/UT.

Counselling Cell has been started by the department of Human Development and Family Relations of the

college. It gives students an opportunity to explore, discover, and clarify, ways of living that are more

satisfying and resourceful to lead a happy life. Effective counselling helps to improve the self-image of

young students and facilitate achievement in life tasks.

Objectives of the Counselling Cell are:

1. To help students gain an insight into the causes and possible solutions of emotional difficulties,

leading to an increased capacity to take rational control over feelings and actions.

2. To normalize maladjusted behavior and assist students to move in the direction of fulfilling their

potentials.

3. To promote a good self-image in each student by providing an environment that encourages

independence, decision making, ability and problem solving potentials within themselves.

A part of learning process referring to interaction between tutor and students from diverse backgrounds

for personal, academic, moral and social discussions.

The college has a functional Women Cell to address "grievances/ complaints" of the students. Grievances

include the following complaints of the aggrieved students, namely: -

1. Making admission contrary to merit determined in accordance with the declared admission policy

of the institute.

2. Irregularity in the admission process adopted by the institute.

3. Refusing admission in accordance with the declared admission policy of the institute.

4. Providing any information which is false or misleading and not based on facts.

5. Withhold or refuse to return any document in the form of certificates of degrees, diploma or any

other award or other document and deposited with it by a person for the purpose of seeking

admission in such institution, with a view to induce or compel such person to pay any fee or fees

in respect of any course or programme of study which such person does not intend to pursue.

6. Demand of money in excess of that specified in the declared admission policy or approved by the

7. Breach of the policy for reservation in admission as may be applicable.

8. Complaints, of alleged discrimination of students from the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes,

Other Backward Classes, Women, Minority or Disabled Categories.

9. Nonpayment or delay in payment of scholarships to any student that such institution is committed,

under the conditions imposed by University Grants Commission, or by any other authority.

10. Delay in conduct of examinations or declaration of results beyond that specified in the academic

RAGGING IS A COGNIZABLE OFFENCE AND IS BANNED IN ANY FORM INSIDE &

OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS

Ragging includes disorderly conduct whether by words, spoken or written or by any act which has the

effect of teasing, treating and handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indiscipline

activities which cause or are likely to cause hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension

in a fresher or new student. It is imperative that students be well- behaved and respectful towards each

other. Any one indulging in or abetting gang fights will be dealt with very sternly and may be rusticated.

Ragging in any form is a punishable offence and the same is banned by the Court of Law, as per directives

of the Supreme Court of India, dated May 16, 2007 in SLP No. (s) 24295 / 2004. Anti- Ragging squad and

helplines have been formed in the college to prevent ragging and help students in distress, if any.

Annual Fashion Show Aakriti

Annual Fashion show "Aakriti" is a platform where the students of B.Sc. Fashion Designing, Post

Graduate Diploma in Fashion Designing and B.Sc.Apparel and Textile Designing create the clothing line

by developing- mood board, inspirational board, conceptualize the designs, prototype the collections and

construct the products. Finally the collections are showcased in the form of a fashion show. It is a step

Cafeteria

As part of the curriculum, the department of F.N. runs a Cafeteria once a week under Institutional Food

Service Management. The running of the cafeteria enhances entrepreneurial skill development and capacity

building amongst the students. Low cost nutritious recipes are evolved and prepared in the laboratory and

sale is conducted in the college. The activities of the cafeteria include standardization, development and

organoleptic evaluation of value added recipes. The cafeteria aims to equip the students with first hand

Diet Clinic

The Diet Clinic initiated by Department of Foods and Nutrition provides free dietary counselling in the

college campus. The main aim is to cater to nutritional needs of all sections of the society. The clinic

provides an insight into running of a diet clinic, conducting a diet counselling session and first hand

exposure for an entrepreneurial set up. Apart from providing counselling for weight loss and weight

management, diets are also prepared for clinical conditions and healthy eating patterns for all age groups.

It also trains the students in the use of Diet Cal, a software for dietary calculations and nutritive content of

Home Science Fest: Encouraging Entrepreneurship in a Big Way

The college organizes Home Science Fest every year in the campus keeping afloat the spirit of the main

motto ‘Earn while you learn.’ Home Scientists as young entrepreneurs display their skills and talents by

putting up a number of stalls and selling their creative products. These stalls showcase the artistic,

creative and marketing abilities of the students which they learn throughout the year. The Fest serves as a

Event Management

The Department of Family Resource Management holds sessions in event management where in students

are given hands on experience to organizes various events. The students are trained and given an

opportunity to practically apply the process of management to the event. They get to learn and practice

planning process, coordinating, budgeting, scheduling, site selection, arranging for speakers or

entertainers, theme decorations, event security, catering, coordinating with third party vendors, and

Attendance in house examinations is compulsory since it is a prerequisite for University

Students absenting themselves from house examinations on medical grounds should submit the

medical certificate from Government Hospital within three days. No medical certificate will be

entertained afterwards.

Strict disciplinary action will be taken against students who resort to unfair means during examinations.

Class tests and assignments in all the subjects are carried out regularly throughout the year.

Eligibility for the University Examinations will be as per the Panjab University Rules.

B.Sc. Home Science, B.Sc. Fashion Designing, M.Sc. Courses and Post Graduate Diploma Courses:

Roll numbers for University examinations will be issued only to those:

Who have 75% of attendance both in theory and practical separately in each subject for each

semester for all B.Sc., M.Sc. and Post Graduate Diploma Courses.

Who have secured a minimum of 25% marks in theory and practical separately, in the house

examinations for all the courses.

In addition to the Regulations/Rules for B.Sc. Home Science (3-year) Course, a candidate who have

passed the Second semester examination, discontinues studies, may be permitted to join the third

In addition to the Regulations/Rules for M.Sc. (Clothing & Textiles) and M.Sc. (Human

Development & Family Relations), a candidate who have passed the Second semester examination,

A Candidate who appeared under semester system for undergraduate courses should be

allowed to take admission under semester system in M.Sc. if she has two re-appears in 3rd,

4th, 5th & 6th Semester. The candidate will not be allowed to take admission in M.Sc. if she

has re-appear in the subject in undergraduate classes in which she wants to take admission in

M.Sc. Courses.

The admission to M.Sc. course shall be done on the basis of merit. In case any seat is lying vacant

after exhausting the merit list, up to the last date of admission only then the Principal can admit

such students.

The candidate shall not be admitted in 3rd semester of M.Sc. if she does not clear the re-appear

papers of undergraduate classes.

B.Sc. Home Science, B.Sc. Fashion Designing, M.Sc. Courses and Post Graduate Diploma Courses:

Each student is required to obtain at least 50% in Theory and Practical’s separately in Internal

Assessment.

The internal assessment will be calculated on the basis of performance in House Examinations,

tests, assignments, attendance and participation in various co-curricular activities.

If the candidate fails in internal assessment, she will need to take re-examination in the respective

subject.

1. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Ragging in any form in the college campus will be treated as crime.

2. The students are required to attend all the lectures/tutorials/practicals.

3. The students are required to maintain discipline in the college campus.

4. The students must appear in various House Examinations.

5. Use of mobile phones in the classrooms and library, is strictly prohibited.

6. Smoking, drinking and playing cards on the college campus is strictly prohibited.

7. Students must make it a point to read the Notice Board and browse college website daily.

Ignorance of orders/notices duly displayed on the Notice Board/website shall not be accepted

as an excuse for non-compliance.

8. Students violating rules and resorting to indiscipline are liable to be punished in the form of heavy

fine, withdrawal of concession or stipends and even expulsion from the college in extreme cases.

9. Students who are under-age and do not have a valid driving license for a two-wheeler or a four-

wheeler are not allowed to drive as per the directions of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court.

10. The students must park their vehicles in the parking lot. Plying of vehicles on the college campus is

not allowed.

11. It is imperative that students be well-behaved and respectful towards other students. Anyone

indulging in or abetting gang fights, bullying, eve-teasing or causing damage to the college property

will be dealt with very strictly and can even be expelled.

12. Parents are requested to remain in touch with the faculty members to keep a track of their ward’s

academic performance, attendance and conduct and are also requested to liaison with the teachers.

13. Each student must bear the cost of repairing and replacing all articles of furniture, crockery, library

books etc. lost, broken and damaged by her.

Leave Rules

1. In case of sickness or emergency, the leave application must be submitted within a week duly signed

by the parent/guardian of the applicant.

2. Applications for sick leave for more than three days should be supported by a medical certificate

from a Govt. Dispensary/Hospital.

3. Leave on medical or personal grounds does not entitle a student to claim benefit of lectures

or for appearing in the special test.

4. The sports person leave for sports competition/coaching camp (including journey days)

recommended by Directorate of Sports including Inter-University tournaments, Inter-College

tournaments, Sr. National Championships and International Championships etc. During this leave

period the concerned sports person shall be treated as present for the assessment and for all other

academic purposes.

5. Absence from the college on days immediately before or after winter vacation entails disciplinary

action.

6. The name of any student who absents herself from the college for ten days or more without

any information will be struck off from the college rolls. The Principal has the power to strike

off name of any student who is irregular in attendance or is not amenable to the college

discipline.

7. If a student after getting admission or during the session remains absent continuously for 10 days,

her name will be struck off from the college rolls.

An Identity card and Library card-cum-Reader`s ticket will be issued to admitted students on

production of the fee receipt and submission of passport size photographs as follows

Books are issued for a period of fourteen days only After that a fine of Re. 1 per day is charged

Any loss of library books or periodicals will have to be paid for by the defaulter within a week by

replacing the book or paying the price.

Any damage done to a book shall have to be brought to the notice of the Librarian before getting

the book issued. Otherwise the person who returns it will be held responsible for the damage done.

The librarian can ask the borrower to return a book before the due date if the same is needed in the

library for reference.

Reference books are issued only 15 minutes before the closing time of the library and are to be

returned by 9:30 AM the next morning. A fine of Re. one per hour is charged for books returned

late.

GENERAL

No student will be allowed to join hostel without fee Receipts (Both College &Hostel).

Students are required to bring their own bedding, bed linen and door curtains,locks, buckets, mugs,

bulbs, dusters, plate, spoon, tumbler etc

Furniture will be issued to the resident students against their signatures and the student will be held

responsible for any breakage of furniture issued to her.

Hostel students are not allowed to use any personal electric appliances like radio, two in one, electric

rods, electric press, transistors, record players etc. In case of a defaulter, strict action will be taken

and the appliance will be confiscated. They are also warned not to tamper with electrical fittings.

The college will not be responsible for any mishap.

Hostel students are allowed to keep two-wheelers only for their convenience.

No Birthday celebrations are allowed at night in the rooms.

All rooms and belongings including almirahs can be inspected by the person authorized by the

principal.

Prior permission of warden is required to bring food in the rooms, meals will be served strictly in

the mess only.

No student is allowed to stay in the rooms from 9:30 am to 01:00 pm as hostel will be closed

for cleaning purposes.

Appearing in the examinations from outside the hostel will not be allowed.

Students cannot leave the hostel during the semester.

Registered visitors are allowed only on visiting days i.e. Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:30

pm

The College is not responsible for any inappropriate behavior/action of the student which is

detrimental to accepted social norms.

Possession and consumption of any kind of intoxicants/drugs/ alcohol will result in immediate

expulsion from the hostel.

The college does not take responsibility of valuables especially mobile phones and cash of

resident students. They are therefore advised not to bring jewellery and other expensive articles

with them.

Students are not allowed to stay in the College hostel during autumn break, winter break or

summer vacations.

All the students will report daily for evening Roll-Call in the hostel common room at 6:00 p.m.

Parents of the defaulter students can be called by the hostel authorities any time.

If, at any time, it is found that the information given to hostel authorities by the parents or the

students is wrong, strict action will be taken immediately by the hostel and college authorities.

Resident students are not allowed to take part in any kind of protest or strike. This will lead to their

expulsion from the hostel and college.

Strict disciplinary action will be taken against defaulters, which may result in immediate

expulsion from hostel.

Students are expected to maintain a decent dress code in the hostel and college premises.

Habitual defiance of the hostel rules will render a resident student liable to disciplinary action, a

special fine and even expulsion from the college.

Ragging is strictly prohibited as per the Hon'ble Supreme Court orders. Defaulters will face

punitive action.

Any kind of shouting, creating rumours, knocking on doors or any other act likely to create

disturbance is strictly prohibited within the Hostel premises.

Any matter of dispute with fellow boarders should be reported immediately to the

Warden/Principal.

Residents must switch off fans and lights before leaving for night out, day out and during college

hours.

Action will be taken against the erring students, who pass undesirable remarks about fellow

students, indulge in physical and mental torture and show disobedience and non-co-operative

behaviour.

A day scholar is not permitted to visit or stay in the hostel without the permission of the Principal.

Student must give due respect to the wardens and the hostel staff.

Residents should maintain cordial relations with other fellow students.

Any hosteller found guilty of creating indiscipline, bringing bad publicity or indulging in negative

politics is liable to be expelled with immediate effect.

The Principal reserves the right to change any of the hostel rules and dues. The changes shall be

binding on the residents.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

It is mandatory to carry a Medical Fitness Certificate by an authorized Medical Practitioner at the time of

entry to the hostel. The Medical Certificate should carry the information of the blood group of the student.

If a student is suffering from any allergy or medicine, then the same should also be mentioned.Such students

are advised to take all precautionary measures themselves to avoid repercussions. Non-disclosure of

information related to any serious medical condition will result in the cancellation of the hostel seat. In

case this fact is concealed from the authorities at the time of admission, the college will not be responsible

for any emergency that may arise. Students are advised not to indulge in self-medication; if they do so,

they will be responsible for the consequences. A nurse is available on the campus 24X7 for any kind of

medical aid. In case of emergency the student will be taken to the nearby Govt. hospital and the local

guardian will be called immediately along with the intimation to the parents.

HOSTEL LEAVE RULES

1. A resident student can avail night out /weekend leave only twice a month.

2. Wardens can grant leave only on weekends and not during college days and timings.

3. A maximum of 4 days leave will be granted for the wedding of siblings. The wedding card and a letter

from parents with the proof of their identity should be attached with the leave application. In all such cases

the parents must write directly to the Principal at least two days in advance.

4. Residents will be granted permission to attend family functions only if they have the requisite attendance

in classes, have appeared in the Mid-semester examinations, and have adhered to the rules and regulations

of the college.

5. If any student extends her leave period of night stay, the parents/guardians should inform the hostel

warden well in advance and submit an extension leave application duly signed by the parents.

6. The warden can sanction leave upto 4 days. Any leave more than 4 days would require the sanction of

the Principal.

7. Attendance will not be granted for medical leave or any other leave taken by the student.

8. Students who do not report for 10 days without prior permission will have to vacate the hostel.

3. Residents shall strictly adhere to the timings of their return i.e. before Roll call in case of Day Outs and

Night Outs.

4. The warden has the right to deny outing to a resident in case of returning late from Night out/any kind

of misconduct.

5. If a resident frequently overstays during her leave, her hostel seat may be cancelled and it may also entail

refusal of admission to the college in the next session.

6. Students who absent themselves from the hostel without Night Out Pass will have to face strict action as

per the decision of the Hostel Committee.

7. Residents should not ask for outings/favours other than the mentioned outing schedule.

Note: Day outings will be given according to the season and circumstances.

Mess Rules

1. Mess Security amounting to Rs. 1000/- will be charged from the hostel resident students at the time of

admission to the hostel which is refundable.

2. Mess is run on contract basis. The Mess Charges for every session will be as per the approved contract

rate of the contractor.

3. Mess Dues are deposited cumulative for every quarter. Mess Dues are to be deposited before the 10th

of the month of the quarter, for which dues are being paid online.

4. If a student fails to pay the dues within 15 days, their mess account will be cancelled/they will not

get food from the mess.

5. Hostellers are required to dine in the dining hall only.

6. No hosteller is permitted to take her meals to her room without the special permission of the Hostel

Supdt. If found violating, disciplinary action will be taken.

7. Meals will not be served before or after the fixed hour. Residents must observe meal timings and must

be punctual for that.

8. No hosteller is allowed to enter the cooking area/kitchen of the hostel.

9. Hostellers are not allowed to come in casual clothes/ night dress to the dining hall. They should be

properly and decently clad.

10. Residents must behave properly with the mess staff.

FOR THE KIND ATTENTION OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS

1. At the time of joining the hostel, the parents/local guardians are required to submit, the name

and the address of the local guardians on the specified form.

2. It is mandatory for the parents to put down their signatures in front of the Hostel Committee.

3. Parents are advised to check the leave book and sign it on every visit of their wards.

4. Students should open an SBI bank account in their home towns and carry the ATM cards along

for convenient monetary transactions.

5. Change of address/telephone number to be informed to the warden in writing by the parents.

6. Parents of the defaulter students can be called by the hostel authorities any time.

7. The visitors will meet their wards in visitor’s room only during visiting hours.

8. No parents/guardians will be allowed to go to the resident's room.,

APPOINTING OF LOCAL GUARDIANS

1. Appointing of a local guardian is a must for the hostel record of each resident student. In case

of an emergency, local guardians will be informed and called.

2. Unmarried Men (blood relation and cousins) will not be accepted as local guardians and will

not be allowed to enter the college premises.

3. Only a married couple should preferably be the local guardian. (Real brother/sister, married or

unmarried is also eligible to be local guardian)

4. Only parents and guardians will be allowed to meet their wards from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on

Saturday and 11:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.

A student who wishes to withdraw her admission from the college must apply to the Principal in writing.

The Application for withdrawal must be countersigned by the parent/guardian. A student leaving the

college without any information to the Principal will forfeit the entire security deposit and the same will

be adjusted towards the dues. No claim for refund of security will be entertained in such cases.

In partial modification of office order No. DPI-UT-12(6) 95 dated 30-3-07/24-4-07,the Advisor to the

Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to adopt the recommendations of the Registrar,

Panjab University, Chandigarh Endorsed vide No. 4721-4900/Misc/A-3 dated 28-5-07 regarding refund of

entire fee collected from the students withdrawing before the starting of the course ,the candidates in the

waiting list should be given admission against the vacant seat. The entire fee collected from the student,

after a deduction of the processing fee of not more than Rs.1000/- (Rupees one Thousands only) shall be

refunded and returned by the Institution/University to the student/candidate withdrawing from the

programme. Should a student leave after joining the course and if the seat consequently falling vacant has

been filled by another candidate by the last date of admission, the institution must return the fee collected

with proportionate deduction of monthly fee and proportionate hostel rent, where applicable, as conveyed

by University Grants Commission, New Delhi vide their letter No. F.No. 1-3/2007(CPP-II)dated 23rd April

2007.

Note: Not withstanding anything contained in this document to the contrary, the "Instructions for

Admission to Various Courses" of Panjab University, Chandigarh or any subsequent instructions to

be issued for the session 2018-19 shall apply.

Refund of Security:

The application for the refund of security must be accompanied by "No Dues" certificate from the Heads

of various Departments, College Librarian, Hostel Superintendent. The applications for refund will be

entertained within a year of the student leaving the college.

Loss or Breakage: Any loss or breakage of College Property has to be paid for by the defaulter.
