Abstract:This “Turbo Talk” session will focus on Oracle 12.2.x, continuous innovation and what it

means to organizations running earlier releases of Oracle EBS. Once organizations are

running Oracle EBS 12.2 an entirely new approach to the care and feeding of your

installation will be available – EBS to infinity and beyond! There should be no more

expensive upgrades as the underlying technology stack upgrade will be unplugged from

the applications upgrade – and you’ll have on-line patching to boot! We will discuss all of

this in an informal, open conversation, as well as present a variety of slides from Oracle

and our own project experiences.

• Deliver ongoing applications and underlying technology stack updates without a major upgrade

• And, Oracle announced Premier Support of Oracle EBS 12.2 through at least 2030!

• All of this means Oracle EBS 12.2 customers can continue to access new application functionality, and obtain later versions of technology in the future

• Key here is you must be on 12.2.x!

Level Set: What is Continuous Innovation, our interpretation?• “At Least 2030”, what does this mean?

– Definition of ”at least” per Oxford Dictionary! • Not less than; at the minimum.

– What does this mean? Oracle EBS 12.2 continuous innovation releases be available until ”at least 2030”

• This means all Oracle EBS 12.2.x releases and applications

• Continued Investment and Support for Years to Come without Major Upgrade• What does this mean? • No “major upgrade” • So upgrades will still be needed, but with on-line patching in 12.2 it makes it easier but

need to get to 12.2 first!

Level Set: What is Continuous Innovation?• Historically customers have adopted a new technology stack with the new

applications code level– Each upgrade, the Apps and related tech stack were upgraded – This involved using Oracle’s Rapid Install tool to deliver new versions of Fusion

Middleware technologies, apps code level, upgrade scripts to move the prior EBS release level to the new EBS release level

• Oracle planned a continuous innovation release model that separated the technology stack updates from the applications code updates– Whereas EBS customers can keep their current 12.2 Apps code level while adopting

new technology updates

• Oracle was going to wait and release this program with 12.X (X=12.3 likely) but has determined its feasible to release the continuous innovation with 12.2

extend Premier Support for an additional year on Continuous Innovation release for on-premise applications • When? How will customers be informed?

• Oracle EBS 12.2 joins other Applications Unlimited product lines like PeopleSoft, JD Edwards Enterprise One, and Siebel
