The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquersthat fear."

And"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change theworld."Don't feel sad because you are different from others. Every unique skill and talenthas the potential to make you a superstar. Embrace your personality and unchainyour inner strength. "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future."- Franklin D. Roosevelt

These words by Franklin D. Roosevelt perfectly describe the aim of my youngfriend Dadi Ratnakar who is the chief architect of Dadi Institute of Engineeringand Technology. Beyond providing a sound education, he wishes to provide the

students a holistic learning experience for life. I have been acquainted with theDadi Family for more than 30 years. Being in close quarters with them, I observed thatthey have been moulding the student fraternity as Nation Builders by crafting their future.

Dear students, "You are the nation-builders. You are the movers of technology. You arethe agents of change." It is our fervent hope that the years you spend at educationalinstitutes would enable you to equip with leadership and managerial skills. The knowledgethat you will gain, the fine qualities that you will imbibe and the technical skills that youwill learn to apply will be your major contribution to your parents, to society, and tothe nation.

I believe that this Memoir 2017 provides the benchmark to the continuedimprovements of the college. This magazine should be a good source of guidance forfaculty and coming batches of students in choosing activities of their choice. I appreciatethe efforts of the Editorial team for excellently compiling the activities of DIET anddisseminating through this magazine and its website.

A Six-Day National Workshop on "NI LABVIEW-Engineeringand Technology Practices " was conducted by the Departmentsof ECE and EEE in association with DIET IEEE Student Branchunder IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section from 4th to 9th of July 2016 atDIET Campus, NI Lab VIEW software is used for a wide varietyof applications and industries, Lab VIEW is a highly productivedevelopment environment for creating custom applications thatinteract with real-world data or signals in fields such as scienceand engineering.

The net result of using a tool such as Lab VIEW is that higherquality projects can be completed in less time with fewer peopleinvolved. So productivity is the key benefit, but that is a broad

and general statement.

Vice-Chairman of AP Higher Education Council Prof P VijayaPrakash speaking on the occasion opined that quality of educationhas improved owing to the cut-throat competition in educationsector as majority of parents are preferring quality educationthere is a need of qualitative educational institutes. He appreciatedthe efforts made by DIET in provid ing qualitative education tothe students of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. He appealedstudents to aim high and said that he sees techies in DIET are inthe budd ing stage and they have all the potential to become selfsuff icient and grow as future experimental scientists like C.V.Raman and APJ Abdul kalam.

Chief Guest of Inaugural session Mr.G.S. Smiles, advised students to polish their skills and gain expertise intheir chosen area of interest. Dr S. Lakshminarayana, Chairman IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section was also present.

RESOURCE PERSONS:

NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS has provided us three resourcepersons, D.ManojRaj, A.Prashanth and Satish Kumar who areworking as applications engineers in the field of Automationand Data acquisition at VI Solutions, Bangalore,

They made students comfortable in understand ing theconcepts, created a workbench to work on various applications, covered vast syllabus in less time and also guided to attend variouslevels of exams to be conducted on this new technology calledlab view by provid ing efficient material.

EDUCATION IS KEYThey say education is the key.A key that can open all closed doors.A sharpener to our minds.Provider of brighter life and expectations.it's like a shining lamp in a dark worldeven better than the shining stars in the skyDifferent parts of the world, the key takes us there. The key doesn't choose religion, race, tribe, classor where you come from. You just see it and take it.Grab it with your hands and don't let go.Explore all parts of the key.Understand its richness and wealth. With various ingredients like maths, languages, sciences, geography, engineering among others. It makes you the most intellect in the world.Greatest scientist, engineer, doctor, teacher, leaderamong many. With the key:You talk, they listen and understand. That knowledge of the key is a weapon.A weapon that can slush dragons into pieces. The key is a healer of d iseases.A solution provider. It aggrand izes unimaginable things never seen before. The key is like a drug that never expires. The greatest inheritance of a child. To get the key is a process. Step by step you learn.Never give up when the going gets tough. Don't stay down if you can get up. Gather all your strength and move forward.Wipe out the sweat and tears.Don't lose focus keep going. With hard work and d iscipline you will finish the race. Sweeter than honey are it's fruits.Who wouldn't want this key?I ask!Go get the key and don't look back.

COLLEGE LIFEStepping into a new life where

One faces oneself

Some consider everything a race

and chase after them all,

While others find it d ifficult

to even tie their shoe lace.

Many here care for you,

but you care for a select few

Lots of leisure, lots of pressure

In the midst of which, some search for treasure.

The greatest invention being the headset

without which no one's heads are fit

More sleep, less work, but still

feeling tired every other minute.

Sudden decisions rare output

even don't care for taking next

More dance, more wishes,

Many an exam and test.

Suddenly, when you look back

The poster says 'The End',

The 35040 hours of these four years

Are just like the three hours of a movie

Passing by in the snap of your fingers

Leaving behind many a memory that lingers.

EDUCATION SYSTEMEducation without a suffix is very pure in its originalform. But when the term 'System' is added to it, alot would change. So, these two should work intandem to have a powerful society.

Just because we have colleges and universit iesdoesn't mean we have education!

The whole educational and professional trainingsystem has to be a very elaborate filter, which justweeds out people and puts them in the right placethey deserve to be in.

What's getting in the way of our education is atheory of social engineering that says there is onlyone right way to proceed further…

There's always been an issue of large quantities ofeducation being delivered by a system that lacksquality.

Ironically, only a few places like ours have been ableto stick to the task of making an effort to offer atruly quality education in spite of a potential growthof several means of d iscrimination.

As if the regular economic and social barriersweren't enough, now the level of education and placefrom where it has been obtained, have become validgrounds of looking down upon people…

Our deepest concern shouldn't just be the kids whocan't go to school, but those who are going and notgetting proper education.

Yes! Under education and improper education isfar more dangerous than zero education!!

The day we incorporate means through whichSchools & Colleges would become the places whereteachers, not just the students, learn out of choice,is the day that would mark the beginning of a morehealthy and enlightening education system!

Because, when access to information was limited inour olden days, we needed to load the students upwith facts. Now, when we have no scarcity of factsor the access to them, we need to load them upwith understanding!

An Understand ing of what happens? Why it happens? And how it happens?

These are not the only questions to be addressedby us today!

It is high time that our education system began reframing these questions as;

What to do? Why to do? And how to do?

This transformation from 'happening' to 'doing' isthe change that our dynamic students should beintroduced to…

That's when the EDUCATION gets enhanced by amore meaningful system and SYSTEM would beglorified by fruitful Education
