From the outset, 2020 has been a challenging year for many reasons with the COVID-19 pandemic now forcing us to adapt again to what is becoming the new normal in our way of life. On a positive front, June 2020 saw the sale of tractors breach the 2,000 unit mark in Australia for the first time since 1981 – this was aided by a number of factors including the Federal Government’s Instant Asset Write Off incentive as well as more favourable weather patterns. With lockdowns relating to the COVID-19 pandemic beginning to ease in most states, there is a sense of getting back to work amongst the farming community. The continuation of the Federal Government’s Instant Asset Write Off scheme will continue to drive purchase activity until the end of December. The biggest challenge will be ensuring availability of tractor stock, as many factories and their suppliers are struggling to ramp up production amidst the increase in demand. Deutz-Fahr launched their NEW 8 TTV Series tractor range last week, this has been smothered in secrecy and little detail is available as I write this! We know there is a new engine, new SDF TTV transmission, and new hydraulic system. The MaxiVision II cab is what we have seen on the 7 and 9 Series, however there is a new cab suspension system which has much better functionality and is more robust. The new 8 Series boasts leading specifications in its class and we eagerly await the opportunity to put it to the test in Australia, once we manage to get our hands on some! On the other end of the scale, Deutz-Fahr is also launching two new 4E models, a 50 HP and 60 HP tractor. These additions to the already popular 4E Series expand the range offering with two key entry level horsepower tractors whilst still maintaining the high performance and reliability of the Deutz-Fahr brand. These units will have Titan 5500 loaders and 4 in 1 buckets fitted as standard adding up to a great combination package, which we are sure will be a popular choice in this horsepower bracket for our customers. Deutz-Fahr tractors are also excited to announce the new venture with Vantage NSW to offer Trimble Agriculture products on the Deutz-Fahr range of tractors in Australia. The latest Trimble GFX-750™ includes an easy-to-use display and roof-mounted guidance controller ensuring your cab will be clean and clutter-free with this automated guidance system. There are three levels of precision, RangePoint, CentrePoint and RTK. Please read more inside for details. Over the past few weeks Deutz-Fahr Australia was able to secure a cancelled order of various SDF tractors, these are advertised as ‘The Italian Look’ and have fantastic pricing and great value for money. All units are covered by Deutz-Fahr warranty and service and there are several two-wheel drive tractors available which represent exceptional value to horsepower, as not every job needs four-wheel drive!
